The delicious lunchroom Mac & Cheese.
    David H.

My wife and I have been coming here for many years. We drive the 55 miles here drooling all the way. We have never had a bad meal here. We absolutely love the variety of soups and Mac & cheese choices. And for dessert they always have a wide variety of cookies, muffins and scones. No prepackaged stuff here, everything handmade from scratch. To top it off it is all made with healthy, natural ingredients. I am a true carnivore, but here I truely do not even miss the meat. This is our favorite restaurant in Lincoln.

    Really admiring the decorations

All I can say is, I wanna live here! My friend had been mentioning this place to me for the longest and I finally went. I was totally mind blown by all the awesome decorations and even the potato heads on the ceiling were pretty dopetastic (word of the day! I have never seen a unique place like this before. Food: At first I couldn't find the menu, but my friend pointed out at the colorful flyers near the cash register. They have Moroccan Tomato Soup, Chipotle Potato Soup, Soul of Zorba Mac and Cheese, Chipotle Mac and Cheese, Italian Stuffed and baked Polenta, and Indian red lentil soup to name a few. I got to try the Baby Bella Mac and Cheese, it was really gooood! It had mushrooms, Gouda cheese, bread crumbs, thyme.. you just have to try it. They also have cookies and cheese bread which I heard were must haves. This place is cash and check only, so no plastic. The Bathroom is definitely a must see. So many posters, old magazines, toys, a leopard mirror, so many cool things. if you're ever in Lincoln, make your way to Grateful Bread, it's something to be grateful for!

Quality comfort food. I've only been here twice. The first time was about 4 years ago when I stopped in and had a cinnamon scone. From what I can remember, very good. Last weekend I went back with my boyfriend and had the best Mac & Cheese I've ever had in my life. In. My. Life. Try the chipotle macaroni - it's warm & gooey with yummy crunchy bready bits and a kick of chipotle pepper. The serving was generous enough that it lasted me for 2 meals. We split a delicious cheese scone, and I tried a bite of his curried vegetable soup. All very good on a snowy day. The atmosphere is hippie-kitschy fun - old photos and funky knick-knacks. They use a record player, too. It goes well with comfort food. Boo for cash or check only. (Note: I've only been here for one real meal, and I've heard they keep irregular hours, so that's why I'm only giving it 3 stars for now.)

My first time here and everything was phenomenal! Between everyone in my family we had almost one of everything on the menu and each thing I tasted blew my mind. On top of that the owner was so kind an courteous. Next time I'm in the area I WILL be back.

I wish I got there before 2 PM because they stopped serving lunch by the time I walked in around 3. Now I know I must go back! They had gelato, dessert, fresh baked goods including different types of sour dough, muffins, cinnamon rolls, etc. They even had stocked refrigerators with "take home and bake yourself" goods as well. I ended up getting a huge premade sandwich that had sprouts, tomato, turkey and cheese on a sesame roll. It came with chips. My total was $12. That sandwich lasted me the entire day. I ate half for lunch and the second half for dinner, that's how big it was! The sandwich was delightful and tasteful. I loved the sesame bread it came with. It held all of the ingredients together nicely (did not fall apart, which is always appreciated). Plus, the sesame seeds also did not fall off which I was pleasantly surprised about. There are tons of seating options available inside and outside. The employees were very friendly too. I am looking forward to coming back to try their soup and sandwiches during lunch hour!

All were delicious and I would have each based on my mood. My starter drink was a Blueberry Mojito, which hit the spot. Rum, blueberry, lime, mint, and soda. Refreshing, mild, and on ice. My wife had a cucumber gimlet. "It was incredible." Food started with a unique "flight of three" soups. We each got to taste the Lobster Bisque, French Onion, and Roasted Red Pepper Gouda soups. We each picked the French Onion as the clear winner, but the others were expertly made and tasty. My entree was a starter offering, the Tuna Poke Bowl. Scrumptious, light, and filling. Served chilled in a stone bowl with chips. The Atlantic Cod and chips were great, with a couple of dipping sauces. Perfectly fried. The third dish was a lunch special, it was a pasta dish with sun dried tomatoes, roasted baby tomatoes, in a red sauce sprinkled with feta cheese. This was so good. We broke down and ordered desserts. The Green Gateau cake is chocolatey with a hint of pistachios. Also had the Apricot Napoleon Torte which is baked up in Omaha and is renowned. Service was superb, thank you Ben! with a relaxing atmosphere, classy decorations, and fun time. We will be back!

It was incredibly welcoming and begged for you to take a seat by the fireplace in the corner. Unfortunately, I didn't have time for a sit-down visit, I was just buying tasty things to bring home from my vacation, for me and for gifts. Not pictured (because I demolished them before I even thought about it) are the chocolate-covered gummy bears! I cannot recommend these enough. This treat is actually hard to find and even harder to find well done, and these were wonderful. The bears were nice and fresh and they had just the right amount of chocolate coating. The dark chocolate drizzle finishing them off was nice but probably unnecessary, and just ended up in a pile of crumbles that was hard to get out of the bottom of the plastic tube they came in. The serving size justified the price, in my opinion. There were so many other great souvenir treats available! But I moved on to the truffle case with all its gorgeous gourmet gems awaiting me! I selected four and was most excited for the Earl Grey one. It was decent but disappointing; I tasted very little tea inside, it was pretty much just a plain caramel filling to me. The other two are still awaiting me. The ladies behind the counter were helpful and friendly, and were patient with my indecision. I also got one of their house stickers for my collection and I was thrilled that it was so reasonably priced! Some places charge SO MUCH for stickers that are, essentially, advertisement for them. I wish I could return soon but I live far away and it will probably be a couple years before I'm back. But you can be sure I'll be making time for a longer trip here then!
