Their salesman was hostile. Their inside sales person snippy and dismissive. They failed to send me a final paid in full invoice and I couldn't claim my extended warranty without it, nor itemize my sales tax. The comment they made was that the sales tax won't show on the invoice because they pay sales tax in bulk quarterly. Like people can't look up the sales tax rate in Montgomery County and calculate? They also failed to send me notification that I needed to apply within 60 days for my free extended warranty until January 31; but my 60 day period began November 30 when my generator was equipment was installed. read more

So this is my second review of Grasten and it has not improved. After spending $10,000 to 12,000 to buy a Generac at home generator from these guys about 6 years ago, they have done nothing to keep me as a customer. Here's the issues: 1. It takes them well over a week to even call me back to schedule repair. yes, I spent $10000 plus to buy the generator from them, and this is how they treat their customers. The first time that I requested service, it took them 10 days to reply. In my foolishness, I thought I would give them a second chance to respond. Wrong. It's been over a week now, and I have still not received a call to schedule a service call. I should have known better! 2. I signed up for their annual maintenance program when I bought my Generac generator,, but Grasten never notified me when my maintenance program expired. You'd think they would have enjoyed the extra revenue, by calling me to renew the annual subscription before it expired. But they never did. 3. They quoted me $200 for a service call plus $550 to repair my generator which had a short in the control wire. Some people (including me) would call that highway robbery. 4. I called an electrician to fix the problem and I paid him $200 and the problem is fixed. 5. Grasten is no longer accredited by the BBB. Is that because they suck when it comes to customer service? Or do they simply have a different agenda when it comes to customer service? I'd give them a zero star review if I could. All I can say is Buyer Beware! read more

On 7/12/24, I was in Mexico on business when my phone alerted me that my generator was out. I immediately calked Grasten and spoke with Chris, a VP at the firm. I explained my situation also adding that my wife was recuperating from a hospital stay and my daughter was disabled. The only other person in the house was my daughter's attendant. If you value after-sales service, I would reconsider purchasing from Grasten Power. My experience has not been ideal. We are currently going on over two months with no resolution to my generator issue(s). Generac sent a technician to my home to support Grasten, and I was told the notes and follow-up would take place by Grasten. Three weeks go by, and no follow-up by Grasten. After many calls and unreturned messages, I finally got someone on the phone last week. When speaking to the representative, it was clear that the notes and actions from the Generac Technician had fallen on deaf ears. Given them the benefit of the doubt, I have now waited an additional week as I was told my service ticket would be elevated. Once again, no action was taken. If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Stay far far away from this company. Installed our generator, but didn't come back to teach us about the generator or install what we needed to be able to look at it on our phone. Phone calls go unanswered. We have a light saying "low coolant" and they will not respond to calls to come out and service the unit. The amount of terrible reviews in the past four months would have been nice to have before we signed a contract in June. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY. I have a 3-year maintenance contract with Grasten but have not yet had the 1st of 2 contract-required service calls in 2024. My generator requires maintenance as it's been running for 200+ hours, subsequent to derecho and Beryl. Grasten does not answer its telephones, all voice mailboxes are full and not accepting messages. The emergency response technician also does not return calls; email communication has also not resulted in a return call / written response. If Grasten installs your generator, purchase a maintenance contract from another provider. New customers may receive priority service; but existing customers with current maintenance contracts should receive the same, however I for one am not receiving any service. read more

Grasten is currently installing a Generac 24kw generator for me. I would Rate them a 2 on a 5 point scale. The salesman came out and was very friendly. The quote was $3K less than any other company. The salesman recommended I have a 60 foot tree with enormous roots removed along with some sprinkler system piping not being used. The salesman did his measurements & I had the tree and piping removed and sent pictures of the new landscape. The 2 technicians arrived to install my 2 pads and said they were told to place the pads based on the initial measurements and not the updated photos. This took about an hour to correct. The workers were very nice and friendly. My installation was set for February 4, 2025. I called and said there is an 87% chance of rain today. I was told we will be there to do the installation.The plumbers arrived at 7 AM (which I agreed to) to as we all knew it was going to rain. The plumbers did a nice job of digging the very long trench and finishing in massive rain. The plumbers were extremely friendly. The work passed city inspection. The trench had 6 inches of water in it. It was too wet for the electrician to do his work so he came back 4 days later. The electrician and his helpers had a big job putting in a new 200 AMP Panel and hooking up the generator. The electrician was unfriendly to me and his workers. His work failed city inspection and he had to come back later and make the required changes. I called Grasten on February 25th to come fill the trench with dirt in my backyard (3 weeks from the start). They arrived at 5 PM on a Friday Afternoon and in an hour in fifteen minutes covered the trench and also filled my French Drains with dirt. I cleaned the drains out in about an hour and a half.. It rained again and my French Drains are filling with dirt based on the work done to fill the trench. The plumber came out and was not concerned about repairing the issue. I used to clean the drains out every 16 to 18 months and now I guess it will be with every rain. I was told to call 2 gentleman at Grasten regarding the issue. I called a left a message Tuesday Morning and Thursday Morning and never got a call back. The price was GREAT but this has been a PAINFUL PROCESS. * read more

We had our generator installed by this company just a few months ago. The electrician wired it incorrectly and failed during the hurricane. Luckily we figured out the issue and changed out the battery which did not hold a charge because it was installed incorrectly. I have called the company and emailed but they refuse to even call us back. They owe us the cost of a battery replacement and time spent fixing the issue ourselves. It is with extreme gratitude that I share this review of Grasten Power Technologies. I'll start by saying we've been customers of Grasten since 2021 and they have ALWAYS done a terrific job. On this particular situation, our power went out due to Hurricane Beryl. Immediately our Generator kicked in and was working great. On day 3 we Decided we'd better check the oil level since it was running non stop. Once we went to restart, it would not restart and after consulting with Generac hotline to troubleshoot we discovered the keypad that is needed to startup has gone bad and we needed that component. On a normal day this would not have been a problem to find but during a major natural disaster it was next to impossible. Luckily Josh at Grasten called us back at 7pm that same day and was able to secure the part for us. My husband was able to pick it up and Josh walked him through set up and install over the phone. Our generator is now back in working order. We are so pleased and grateful for Grasten and their level of service to their clients and our community. Took nine months from purchase to working unit. Haven't had 1 yr. Have experienced two manufacturers faults/issues but was required to pay emergency service fee to get tech out to fix manufactures fault ASAP - which could be up to 48 hrs. I just don't understand why this charge - plus they required payment before putting me on schedule, not after tech visit so there was no need to rush the repair since they already had their payment. Nice customer service, right? The reason for my MAYBE rating, but could have been a Four STAR if payment not required before work was completed. read more

We have been using Grasten since 2012 when we purchased our whole home generator. They did everything for the install and made the process very easy. Had them come out for a quote. The guy took a few pictures and notes but clearly wasn't being detailed. I got the quote the next week and it was not based on the model or placement that we discussed. After encountering issues with my home generator around the 18th of May, I reached out to Grasten Power, the only company that has ever serviced my generator since I moved here. I've been a customer since 2016, using their services at my home and several other properties, with their last visit to my house in 2018. As we usually service the generator ourselves, I hadn't contacted them until the problem arose in May. They scheduled me for the 31st. On May 31st, Carlos came to troubleshoot and repair the generator. I showed him the generator, told him I'd be inside, and asked him to let me know if he needed anything. I watched him take pictures and leave the backyard. Within 10 minutes, he was gone without knocking, calling, or texting. Assuming he left for parts or lunch, I texted him at 3:44 PM to ask when he would return, as I had the dogs outside. He never responded. I contacted Grasten the following Monday to inquire about the situation. They said they would look into it and get back to me. After not hearing back and considering the busy storm season, I waited a few days and called again. On June 7th, I spoke with Dylan, who informed me that my generator was not code compliant and that Carlos had tried to contact me, which was untrue. Dylan sent over a report that showed my email as none@getlater.sorry, explaining why I hadn't been contacted. The report didn't specify what codes I was violating it just had pictures. Dylan said he would consult with Chris to provide a quote to bring the generator up to code. I followed up with Dylan via email on the 14th but received no response. I sent another email this morning to Dylan and Grasten's generic email but still got no response. So, I called today on 7/2 and spoke with Jessica. I explained my situation, emphasizing that I wasn't trying to get Carlos or Dylan in trouble. She rudely interrupted me, saying they wouldn't be in trouble, and they know what they are doing. When I started asking why they previously worked on my generator but wouldn't now, and inquired about the soffit vents and bathroom fixed window, she cut me off again, stating, "they are a higher caliber company than I'm willing to do business with." Excuse me? I've been a repeat customer, trying to understand why my generator is out of code all of a sudden when its never been mentioned before and trying to get info on what needs to be done to comply!! It's been a month, and I still haven't received their quote, and she's treating me like this? She then transferred me to Chris. Chris apologized, explained the code compliance issues (something no one did until that point), and promised to send me a quote. When I asked Chris who Jessica was, he said she's one of the owners. I remarked how unfortunate that was, given how rude she was on the phone. I could hear her laughing in the background. I told them not to worry about providing a quote anymore, considering how the owner just treated me. I maintained a high level of professionalism and respect in all my interactions with their staff, but it turns out they do not meet the standards of the companies I prefer to do business with. Save yourself the trouble and find another company where you won't have to chase them down only to be belittled on the phone. read more

I had a service contract with Graston when Beryl hit Houston. Their service wasn't bad, it was non-existent. My generator failed after two days and it took about 20 tries to get through to a live person. She said she would add me to the list. All the other tries to get through ended with a "mailbox is full" message. After two more weeks I tried again and the person who answered the phone said she couldn't access the schedule and the scheduler would have to call me back. When I asked if that person would actually call me back, she literally laughed at me, then said "I hope so!" in a fake cheerful voice. Needless to say, after two and a half months I still haven't received a call. read more

I had a Generator installed at my house by Garsten Technologies last year and since then I have needed it to work twice during the hurricane and a recent power outage but it was a total failure due to poor installation and extremely poor after sales service!! I even have an extended yearly maintenance plan with Garsten too. No one calls you back after hours. We even drove to their office today and the front desk said , we have too many calls to attend and that the Supervisor is somewhere in the field! In a nutshell they would love to install a giant machine in your home costing an huge sum of money and then you are on your own. Just prey that no Hurricane hits Houston again! read more

For the second time in as many years, our generator has failed to come on; leaving us without power for an extended time. We have a maintenance contract with them and have kept it in force since 2011 when the generator was installed. When we called for service, we were told - both times - that it would be at least a week before they could come to see why it was not working. After being without power all day today, we were told they would pass along the message to their technician and have them call us back. Power went out at 1 PM. It is currently 5:30 PM, and still no call back. Tried to call them again around 3:30 this afternoon - no answer and full voicemail box; no way to leave a message. To say I am disappointed in their service does not even begin to explain my feelings!! Will start trying to get in touch again tomorrow. read more

After the freeze... wasn't going to put family thr that again. Our AC guy (The Woodlands Heating and AC) recommended Grasten highly and he was the only guy I knew who had a generator but his worked great everytime the power went out. Jerry came out did a no contact quote and we got generator pretty quick. He was very responsive on text. Justin Stiehl just did the start up and tutorial and that guy was so nice and awesome! We got a whole house 22kw Generac that comes with whole house surge protector and they take care of all the permits with The Woodlands. Had our new generator installed several months ago. Purchase and installation took a long time but went well. This past Saturday night we lost power around 10:30 pm, generator started as it should have. However, after about 10 minutes, the system did not automatically transfer power to the generator. I had to manually engage the ATS. Called and left a message (Non emergency). A rep called me approximately 9:15 this morning (Monday), said she would write ticket and send to service. As of 7:35 pm, I have not heard from service department. Good thing this wasn't an EMERGENCY!. I realize service department may be busy, but they could have made a simple phone call. When his team came out to place the concrete pad, they were mindful of the grass and made a small footprint for the pad. I usually don't have time to leave a review because I have 5 children with 4 of them being under 5 years old and one being autistic; but since Grasten Technologies decided it was okay to take advantage of me, I have decided to make the time to review. First of all, I'd like to say that the communication was non-existent as soon as I paid my deposit (text are between me and sales rep in pic). Their contract states 4-6 week to begin installation, I haven't even heard from anyone on the 6th week to even let me know what's going on. I wish that I would have been able to cancel and go my separate ways. Secondly, just about every time their contractors came out, they broke something. They destroyed my yard (I spent $1500 recently for new grass), one of the reps that came out he warped my door that opens (fence is about 2 months old), he apparently just kept pushing on it since there is a specific way to open it. Lastly, the electrician was dishonest, there was a outlet where they put the transfer switch that was going to be removed but it was covered up; I found out after the outlet tripped since it is on a GFCI circuit, I have two other outlets on the outside of the house that currently have no power (see contract where it says they are supposed to remove outlet). The electrician that came out and said he removed the outlet but he wasn't even the original electrician that did the install. If Grasten responds that they complete the task of removing outlet, please provide pics since y'all take pic of everything anyways so you can process your loans with subpar work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY as they are dishonest and don't stand behind their product. read more

We utilized Grasten Power via our Costco connection. Bart Bogus was our sales man and the entire team kept us informed along the way. It was a long journey because everyone seemed to want a whole home generator when we did. Living in a city that requires permits and inspections at every step didn't help matters nor did CenterPoint needing to change out the gas meter. All in all we are happy with the individuals sent to our house for slab, stand, electric, plumbing and final connection. During our project Generac offered a 10 year warranty. Although not it our written contract we were promised the extended warranty. It currently is not reflected in our Mobilink app but have been told it should be shortly. Yesterday (1/19/23) I spoke to Lauren and she transferred me to Michael (Manager) who indicated they would get the 10 year warranty included but he needed to get Natalya in warranty to change. On 1/20/23 I received a call from Natalya indicating the warranty was changed to a 10-year warranty and should be reflected on the Mobilink app in a week or so. Graseten will be performing maintenance for us and we have since referred them to our son and a friend. Word of mouth referrals are the best form of flattery! read more

Grasten installed a 24kw Generac standby generator at my house, with a start-up date in mid August. The generator has been required twice in the first 30 days and worked flawlessly. Working with Grasten was a great experience because they are knowledgeable and friendly. They took time to explain different options (gen size, location, code) and I never felt any sale pressure at any point. They handled everything, and I was thankful they did because there is a lot of steps to install a generator. I'm really happy with the whole experience and thankful we have a backup power solution. I've had this generator for just over two years, and listened to it perform a self-test every week, like clockwork. I thought this meant all was well. The Grasten tech performed the last service of my two year agreement just a couple of months before a freakin' Hurricane blew the cover of the unsecured (that's right - he neglected locking the cover back down) the interior flooded of the now useless generator. Believe me when I say that standing in the driving rain working out why the thing wasn't running was no picnic. Three attempts to get their attention, which had to be done through support pages and emails since they weren't answering, calls and all I get is "We're too busy to take new customers (??!!)" and "Click here to renew your maintenance agreement." Not one syllable about the original complaint. I am forced to take my business else where they might actually send out a technician to troubleshoot a generator failure - in less than 2 months time. read more

I have service agreement with Grasten, and their customer service and performance has been HORRIBLE during this Hurricane Beryle power outage. The generator came on when the power went out, but shortly went down due to under voltage error. I called Grasten the same day and was told this was a priority and someone would contact me shortly. That was 4 days ago and no one has called me back. I have called them numerous times over the past 4 days and no one answers the phone and you can't leave a message. Further, when I tried troubleshooting on my own, I found that the engine oil was not reading on the dip stick. The lack of communication with a contract customer under emergency conditions for 4 days, and the poor service of the generator during scheduled maintenance checks are unacceptable. Regardless of how many calls they are getting, they could reached back out to a contract customer by now. I paid a lot of money for this generator and the service contract, and the first time I needed it, the company and their generator fail miserably. read more

Wow amazing people that are so knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. I'm Getting ready for Hurricane Harvey and my Generac Generator would not manually crank up. They walked me through it on the phone and said it sounds like a battery. 30 min later I get a battery and change it out and it cranks right up. I call them back to thank them and they walk me through my panel and how to generate a auto turn on and it cranks right up. I will definitely be calling them to set up a service plan.
