8. Breakfast Burrito - Bacon
Nella B.

I finally stopped by for breakfast this morning, I work nearby and drive past this place almost every day. Location - plenty of parking, easy to spot off Sampson Ambiance - clean, quiet, employees were friendly Service - not too bad, i was in and out under 10 mins. definitely will call in my order next time. Food - ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and an avocado burrito. They were about 6 inches, but the flavor was good! The eggs were nice and fluffy, bacon could have been cooked a little longer - but everyone prefers their bacon differently. I'd come back.

Sausage egg and cheese English muffin

Small deli we were excited to try out because it is close to home. It was a little warm inside, but it had a cool classic little deli feel to it. The service was great and attentive. We had our two babies with us so it took us some time to order and the employee was super patient with us. We got the western burrito with avocado added and a sausage egg and cheese English muffin sandwich. The sandwich was perfect with melty cheese and crunch on the muffin. The burrito tasted great and the egg was nice and soft, but the bacon didn't have any crunch to it and the potatoes seemed a little underdone. That being said it all tasted great and the price was a deal. We will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!

Tiny avocado breakfast burrito. Very bland.

I ordered an avocado breakfast burrito with added bacon on Grub Hub. It seemed like it took a long time for it to be made. The Grub Hub driver dropped off my burrito and I realized it was cold. It was not warm at all. I put it in the microwave and opened it to discover it was small. My hand is actually bigger than the burrito. I took a bite and it was tasteless and bland. I added salsa...still bland. Salt and pepper...still bland. I got some hot sauce...now it tasted like hot sauce with no other flavor. I will never order a breakfast burrito from this place again. I ordered a salad for lunch and will update once I eat that. Meh.

The 50. Western Burrito -- so very delicious and probably the most well priced breakfast burrito I've ever purchased

(Visited 12/15/22) Me and a couple of chums were taking the 91 freeway from Torrance to Big Bear for the weekend to go winter camping for the first time. We were looking to fuel up with a tasty breakfast before we endured a weekend of sub 30° activities and we got hungry passing through Corona. We looked up "food" on Apple Maps as one does and Granite Place Cafe shows up with rave reviews and breakfast burritos. Perfect. We drive up and are surprised to see this odd little corner store built into the same warehouse as like 2 or 3 car mechanics, but that wasn't gonna stop us from getting a taste of those burritos. We walked in and met Chris, a super inviting breath of fresh air standing behind the register. We exchange hellos and order our food (Western Burritos all around) before taking our seat. We start chatting with Chris and before we know it we're exchanging campsites, views, and stories about our times in the wilderness. He's excited to hear what we're attempting and he hooks us up with some great instant spicy ramen that kept us nice and toasty in the snow. By this time our burritos are ready--and they are excellent. Perfect ratio of all ingredients, great flavor, and it comes with a salsa and a chili paste that ties it all together. I also got myself an English muffin sandwich for a few bucks and a Taro smoothie, both of which were super yummy. From the food to the conversation with Chris, our visit to Granite Place Cafe was an incredible success. I would recommend this place to anyone and If I ever head up the 91 to Big Bear again then I will absolutely stop back in for some food and story sharing. TLDR: Food is great, cashier is just as awesome.

The roll was really good nice and fresh but really thick . They put one slice of turkey folded in half on my sandwich . All bread and lettuce not enough of meat . All you can taste is bread . Also the chips is a 1 oz bag . Gone in 4 bites didn't even Finnish half of the sandwich . The other sandwich was the same . Funny how all the good reviews on here are a year or two ago . Nothing new only 1 review form 5 month ago . Need to put more meat ! You can see in pictures one slice of turkey .

#11. Godfather Cold Sub

Try our #11. Godfather sub. This is the most popular sandwich. Sssssssoooooo delicious!

Inside...nothing fancy but in a strange way, comforting.

Granite place café is literally a mom and pop restaurant, the pop is the primary order taker and the mom is the cook. It's small and charming that serves a limited breakfast and lunch menu composed of sandwiches as well as eggs complimented with a variety of sides dishes Granite Place Cafe is located in an industrial area and it was clear to me that those, who work in the area, are their primary clients. The owner, who took my order, was also friendly and congenial. During my visit I noticed a steady stream of people who bantered and joked with both owners. Clearly, they are invested in this "community". I ordered scrambled egg, sausage, hash browns toast and coffee ($3.75). The food wasn't particularly remarkable but filling and delicious. Overall, a good experience, those who work nearby could do worse and have to travel quite far.

Our party kept growing throughout the meal as more family members joined, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and kind about adjusting our table each time. The brunch options were fantastic with both sweet and savory choices. My personal favorite was the omelet bar it was fresh, delicious, and made exactly how I wanted it. They also had great kid-friendly options like fries and mac and cheese, which made the little ones very happy. The service really stood out. The staff kept our champagne glasses filled and were attentive without being intrusive. I also loved that they had aguas frescas available for guests to serve themselves, which meant no waiting around for refills. And the sweet bread selection was a perfect touch to round out the meal along with their chocolate strawberry fountain and ice cream. Overall, it was a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance of mariachi singing and dancing in the back also added special element. Excellent food, wonderful service, and a very accommodating team. We'll definitely be back!

Since it was my first time there, he also took the time to recommend a few things to try, which I really appreciated. His suggestions were great and helped make the experience even better. The Mission Inn Restaurant Is Wasting A Valuable Opportunity…read more A four-star setting deserves better than a cafeteria menu. My sisters and I had lunch at the Mission Inn restaurant last week. I had already browsed the menu beforehand, and nothing on it suggested we were dining somewhere remarkable. That's a warning sign I should have taken more seriously. I ordered the French dip and sweet potato fries. What arrived tasted like something assembled with the kind of institutional efficiency you find in a hospital cafeteria, not a landmark destination. The food was not bad in the way that offends you; it was bad in the way that confuses you. You keep looking around to make sure you're actually inside the building you think you're inside. Here is what I want management to actually hear: the staff were fine. They were present, professional, and doing their jobs. This is not about them. This is about whoever is responsible for the menu, and whoever signed off on the idea that sweet potato fries should be plated with ketchup. Ketchup. Even Denny's has moved past that. A chipotle aioli costs twelve cents more and communicates that someone in the kitchen cares. A small dish of something intentional says: we thought about you before you sat down. The Mission Inn is a National Historic Landmark. Teddy Roosevelt slept there. It has a courtyard that makes people stop mid-sentence to look at it. And then they sit down to a French dip that could have come from a stadium concession stand. That gap is not a small problem. It is a brand problem. It tells every guest who walks through the door that the building is serious, but the restaurant is an afterthought. When your setting is that extraordinary, the food does not need to be transcendent; it needs to be *considered*. It needs to suggest that someone with taste made a decision. Right now, it suggests that no one did. The Mission Inn deserves a restaurant that meets it at its own level. So does everyone who makes the drive out there expecting the full experience. What would it cost to hire one menu consultant for a single afternoon?

It looked like it was made with love. The egg+cheese sandwich absolutely carried the experience (seriously, give that thing a raise), and the matcha held its own as it was refreshing! Now the not so great... the huevos rancheros were unfortunately very, very, salty.. but I didn't want my money to go to waste so I made myself eat it.. The coffee was bitter, pretty but bitter. I usually like bitter coffee but this one caught me off guard haha The Customer service wasn't great.. The server asked if we needed anything else but was already walking away before we could answer. Overall, the matcha and egg+cheese sandwich was the best part from this experience. I would recommend those two.

The sun was shining on my face. I don't know who came over to our table to recommend a tequila for our flight. Dame Mas was a very good choice. My wife is more of a tequila drinker than I am. I did hog up the Dame Mas to myself. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. I recommend ordering the bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with crab meat; it's the best. The owner, Santiago, allowed us to come a half hour beforehand to decorate & we came in, not knowing what to expect. Upon our arrival, the birthday cake was promptly whisked away to the kitchen, we found Santiago PERSONALLY on his hands & knees fixing the electrical cords for us, our servers introduced themselves & graciously helped us rearrange the set-up to accommodate the band we brought in. Then helped us rearrange the layout yet again once we realized the band needed to be next to the electrical outlets. I was embarrassed to even ask so I started doing it myself but they jumped right in without being asked. If I'm being honest, usually I'm not a fan of buffet meals, so I wasn't expecting much. But everything served was SO delicious! The fajitas were my favorite dish, not only flavorful but also nice & moist. Not only that, but they refilled the food for us as it ran out. They brought out to-go boxes for the leftovers, & best believe my family took home every last bite! The lime margarita tower was SO yummy but also hella dangerous because it was strong!! Other restaurants will give you watered down drinks but El Patron doesn't play. We were only planning on one but it was so good, we couldn't resist getting another. From start to finish, the servers (Leslie and Cecilia) were on POINT. Their service went above & beyond expectations-- continuously checking on us, refilling drinks/food, taking photos, etc. Not only that, but also, when my young autistic nephew unfortunately got sick, they were so incredibly compassionate about it & helped clean up the mess right away. I was absolutely blown away by the attention to detail & quality of care. As my grandma is getting older, we are especially cherishing these final years with her. We spent thousands overall (venue, music, photographer, special mass, etc) but every last cent was worth seeing her happy with all of her loved ones. After many months of planning, I was super nervous about something going wrong but I can honestly say that core memories were made. Thank you to Santiago, Leslie & Cecilia for your hospitality, good food & work ethic-- it truly meant so much for our family unit.
