    Fireplace renovation by Granite Masters!
    Dave E.

We visited several places to have our old brick fireplace covered with marble. A few places said it couldn't be done and a few others took weeks to return emails that they said we would have the next day! Then we found Granite Masters in Schererville and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! The owner, Bob, came to our home to measure and explain the procedure! Within 2 days, he emailed us a price that was below other quotes and actually within our budget! Work started in a timely manner (even though we were in the middle of a pandemic) and was finished in just a day! We couldn't be any happier with the results! Our fireplace is completely transformed into a showpiece like you see in Architectural magazines! Thanks Granite Masters for an amazing experience!

We ordered our quartz kitchen counters from Rock counter and couldn't be happier. Kerim is…read moreextremely helpful and knows his products. When we fell in love with a marble looking sample from an overpriced brand, he directed us to a different manufacturer with a similar style (which he didn't have a sample of) that was within our budget. In addition to that, they didn't blink an eye when we encountered a 7 month delay with our remodel project. They stored the slabs we had purchased and waited patiently while we fought with Schillings to fix our floors. We are now going back to Rock Counter for our bathroom vanity counters and very likely our master vanity itself. Highly recommend Rock Counter!

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM If I could give zero stars I would. We flip 5-7 homes at a time and wanted to love using Rock Counter but it's been an awful experience. The "experienced designer" overlooked the fact that appliances are to be accounted for in a KITCHEN floor plan. Apparently she forgot that & my contractor didn't catch it because he's not a kitchen designer. This cost me over $3k to take out a load bearing wall to account for this mistake and pushed my project back. We have been missing some items such as toe kicks and the skin for our fridge. Now this is the last straw. This is how they sent our cabinets and insist it's not drawn on with marker. They refuse to allow any returns to get our money back. DON'T SHOP HERE! Save your sanity and hard earned money. We spent thousands on these and can't get our money back.

Juan's quote was roughly the same as the others I got (they were all within $150 of each other), but I chose to work with Juan Carlos because he was so much more friendly and professional than the other companies I talked to, and he had much better reviews too. All these 5 star reviews are for a reason!! The work is top notch (I was stunned to find that they had been able to cut my gigantic L-shape section as ONE PIECE--couldn't believe it!), on time, and highly professional and courteous. They protected all my floors so well, draping from the front door all the way through to the kitchen, and kept everything super clean so I didn't have to deal with a mess after they left. I really appreciated that! Also, regarding Covid safety, I felt very safe having Juan Carlos and team in my home. They were all masked up (with masks worn PROPERLY, not hanging off their face like so many people I've had to deal with lately). I just can't recommend Pearlstone Cutters highly enough--please give them your business, you won't regret it!

Stay away. My modest…read moreguest bathroom needed a refresh so I reached out to Home Depot to get the project started. Absolute was one of two contractors who were sent my way. I chatted with the contact at Absolute, Eric, and he came out to my home to review the project. We discussed in depth what I was looking for: gutting the bathroom, replacing the tub with a walk in shower, new toilet, new vanity. Eric put a quote together for ~$16,000 that covered both materials and labor. I decided to proceed and signed a contract with that amount in March for a June project date and paid in full upfront. Two months later, in May, Oscar from Absolute reaches out to me to explain that Eric left the company and they were sorting through his files. I passed along the documentation that I had. Absolute then tells me that Eric did not quote the project correctly and that it would cost an additional $8,000 -- 50% more than what I had already paid. From there, I had several back-and-forth conversations with Absolute about the contract that I had signed. Absolute's position was that the $16,000 figure only covered labor and all materials were my responsibility -- which was news to me and did not at all reflect what I discussed with Eric or what the quote said. When I pointed out that the quote was all-inclusive, I was told that the quote was irrelevant and "just an estimate". Then Absolute cited irrelevant contract language as grounds to adjust the price, all the while acting like they were really going out of their way to help fix the mess that they made. I asked Absolute if they could provide me a "best and final" number to complete the project, even removing some of the bells and whistles from the quote. That knocked the price down to an additional $6,000, which still exceeded the price quoted by the other provider I met with. Absolute agreed to refund my money -- having wasted months of my time -- and presented a document for me to sign. However the document presented did not guarantee that I would receive a full refund and I had to ask several times for that language to be included. Finally Absolute did so and my refund was processed. This experience has soured me not only on Absolute but on working with Home Depot entirely. I'll take my money to Lowe's going forward. Stay away from these guys or expect a bait-and-switch circus.

The office staff, the person measuring the counter top, and the installers were completely helpful and professional. Cassie in the office was fantastic, very accommodating, and responsive. My old counter tops were black laminate and I was looking to upgrade to a material and color that would lighten and modernize my kitchen. Their pricing was in line, if not a little less expensive, then the other two places from which I obtained quotes and their selection of colors and types of material were expansive. I also purchased the under mount sink to match the counter top coloring and the matching accessories. When I discovered two matching strainer baskets were ordered, instead of one strainer and one flange for the garbage disposal, they quickly refunded me the cost, once I returned it to their office. Definitely be cognitive of the depth of your current sink versus the new under mount sink, if you have a garbage disposal since the electrical of your garbage disposal may need to be rerouted. This is not the company's fault but something I did not think of at the time of purchase. Just so you are aware, it does take approximately 1 month from choosing what you want in the showroom to the final install. This is not an unusual amount of time for this type of project. Just thought some people might like to know this information for planning purposes. I highly recommend The Granite & Marble Depot and would definitely do business with them again!

We have never been so impressed with a company as we are with GMD Surfaces. They called to set the measurement appointment. The man came out right on time. Did his work and even took time to answer my questions. Within two weeks GMD called back to set the installation date. Two men came out and within 35 minutes the countertop was installed, grouted, and all debris removed. The countertop is beautiful and sets off the bathroom perfectly. We have plans for the kitchen, and I can't wait to deal with GMD direct. You can't go wrong with this company. Mike and Sharon Burke
