We've had quite the renovation experience, but i will save you the details. One of the biggest decisions we had to make was for countertops. We needed them for the kitchen counter, a huge island, a buffet, a built in dresser, a powder room and the master bathroom. My wife wanted Quartz, so I sold a kidney through uncle Joey to pay for it, and we eventually decided to go with a full height kitchen backsplash as well. I called several places, pricing was similar, but when I spoke to Matt "it was like Sparks, down on E Street!" Matt was so friendly and inviting and wasn't pushy. He just said our remnant yard is open, come by anytime you want and take a look. So we did. I can't remember if I called him, before or after we went by. We went through the show room and looked at several different Quartz samples, prices varied so much. We finally chose a very reasonably priced quartz product that looked very nice for the entire kitchen area, and the buffet in the dining room. For the other pieces, that were going throughout the house, we chose those out of the remnant yard. The remnant yard holds lots of different types of stone, and they are discounted, so you can find some great deals. I also ended up having the entire master bathroom shower bench, niche surrounds and threshold cut out of Quartz. Sorry for all the detail. Matt is a great person. I found him very sincere, helpful and honest. He was with me through the entire process. We had a few issues along the way, and trust me, if you haven't renovated expect issues. They're going to happen, it's how you and the people you deal with take care of them. That's when I met Don, the owner of G&M. What can I say, I wanted to hate the guy, but he was so nice! There was a small accident, which I understand can happen when dealing with these very large and heavy pieces of stone, and Don without hesitation took care of the problem. We spent A LOT of money with this company for a lot of countertops on our new build. Lots of problems with the install that were originally jointly caused by Granite & Marble Solutions and our builder, and the owner did the right thing at that time. Subsequently with seeing even more install issues that are solely on Granite & Marble Solutions, they are completely unresponsive and keep kicking the can down the road. Very bad customer service. Pretty clear that they just hope I will go away. It's been very disappointing to have spent the money we did and have all the install issues which permanently impact the quality and look of the stone. I was frustrated with another fabricator & a countertop they installed for me & was desperate for some professional advice. I walked into Granite & Marble Solutions & met Don (the owner). I explained my frustrations with a countertop product & asked if he knew how to rectify my issues. Don immediately brought out his head fabricator to address my concerns. My husband and I needed some help with choosing a countertop product to replace a new countertop that was installed by another company. We were devastated that we had to replace an already costly quartz product, but were incredibly unhappy with the quality & maintenance associated with it. I would have rated my experience a 4 if customer service didn't plummet once I paid the 50% deposit granite countertops. I was told a sample would be left from my slab to help matching while shopping backsplash. I made an extra trip out there to pick it up- not there. No big deal but noted. I scheduled both the measurements and subsequent installation on days I work, but the installers got the date wrong and called me incessantly while I was in the middle of a meeting in the office. When they showed up on the correct day. I had cleared the area of it's contents according to the contract. They completed the work while I was on a conference call so they let themselves out - bit I wished they had left a note explaining what to do to turn the gas back on (as they aren't authorized to do). I ended paying my plumber to do it which I think could have been an avoidable expense. At any rate, I received a follow up text a couple days later, I explained my issues and included a photo of a concern they said they would follow up on. They said they would be back in touch but I never heard back from them. I also followed up on the follow up - crickets..... read more

They are the absolute worst company possible to deal with. They came out to install my quartzite slab in the pouring rain, while also scratching a massive circle in it. They couldn't put any sealer on it due to being wet. So they told me that I would have to apply it myself once it dry's. When your paying a company 3K to install it for you, you would think that they would have done that themselves. To make things worse I had an extra slab that was left over. They told me that they would store my slab for me while my basement was getting finished as I was going to use the extra piece for my bar top. Guess what. Slabs gone and they have no idea where it went. read more

Nancy was an absolute joy to work with. From the 1st meeting she was warm, welcoming, and super helpful. And... anyone who has the patience to work with a perfectionist like me is a saint. Her and I met one Saturday before Thanksgiving and it took me about 3 weeks to finally select my stone. She shot recommendations my way and we could not be happier with what we chose. Nancy was quick to respond to questions, always had an answer for me, and was super informative. There was never a moment that I did not know what they needed from me or what I needed to be doing for them. On the install day, Marco and his crew were fabulous. 2 super kind and hardworking guys did a fantastic job on my new counters. The whole time I felt like they treated my home like it was their own home. During install, they ran into a little issue due to the templating measurements being a smidge short, but never did Marco have me in a panic mode. He let me know I was in good hands and they sent over more granite immediately, cut the granite in my front yard, and fixed it same day. And... as a control freak, planning, perfectionist, something like that would normally put me in a tizzy, but I knew I was in good hands with Marco. They also recommended a great guy for the plumbing. I truly cannot say enough good things about Nancy, Marco, and the company. I would 100% work with them again in the future. Here was our experience. Yes, they were nice enough, and worked with us on price. Now the negatives. We arrived for our profile appointment on time to find the granite was not set up or templated, so, we had to work through that ourselves taking much longer and making us late. Like the previous reviewer we experienced hardwood floor damage. They put down drop cloths, which quickly got kicked around until they were no longer protecting the floor. Granite crumbs from removing the old granite were getting stomped into the floor until I brought it to their attention and they vacuumed it up. Still, we got scratches and scuffs in the hardwoods. Next they did not lay cloths down over my pots and pans in the cabinets. I found them full of granite sand and dust and had to wipe out every single cabinet by hand and wash all the pots. While trying to wedge one piece of granite into a space that it was too big for, they broke it and had to glue it back together. The new sink came with a warranty manual, but they hauled that away with the trash. When their plumber arrived end of the day, the sink faucet was missing a part that we luckily found in the yard later, pressed into the dirt. Speaking of their plumber, we called their dispatcher several times throughout the day to see if he could come sooner. She never answered calls or texts. I realize there will be some dust from demolition and sanding, but if I had been forewarned how bad it would be I could have hung plastic sheeting to keep it all in one room. As it was, the entire house had a grey haze of dust over it that had to be vacuumed and wiped up by hand for hours. Furnace filter was full of granite dust as well. So...two stars for final product, which turned out nice, but because the workers are sloppy amateurs we would not use them again. They offered to come back and do our backsplash on the side. SPECIALIZING IN COUNTER TOPS AND BACKSPLASHES! This business is located on Old Alpharetta Rd and if you are approaching from McFarland Rd, they will be the second driveway on the left. As you enter make an immediate right and go down to the second section and you will see a large banner over their door. This place is difficult to see from the road due to the overgrown bushes so if you you get to a cross street, just turn around. I enjoy this store because the staff is very warm and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable and capable of answering your questions and will also provide written information about materials and the installation process. You are free to walk around the showroom, go out back to look at the large slabs of stone, and take pictures. I actually visited this business years ago and liked them so much that I referred my neighbor to them. They completed their kitchen counter tops and did a great job. The workers are like magic elves who just get in there and get it done in a fast and efficient manner. When you are professional and have a professional team, you will have a professional outcome and everyone is pleased. Thus the great reviews. Since they really only do counter tops, they have a small display room. However, I would love to see them expand to offer more products and services. Back in the day, they had shower displays as well, but if you need to have a shower wall installed they have an outside referral source for you. On the other hand, having a specific focus allows them to provide great service and keep those prices in check. One reviewer makes a great point. It is not uncommon at all for companies to not want to work with you on your small projects simply because it does not make good financial sense to them. If they can't make enough money to justify the project, they will not proceed. It is nice to know that Granite and Marble Solutions will take on smaller projects as well. Looked for almost a year to find the stone for kitchen countertops. Melinda was patient, found marble that was perfect. The problem lies in the templating, fabrication and install of the marble. Looking at reviews, it seemed the only negative was not covering floors. I asked if they covered the floors as I just had my hardwoods refinished and they said no, but they would put something down if they used a trolley to bring in the stone. So I purchased brown paper and taped it down from the door to around the workspace and island. When they left, the paper was torn and uncovered floor was covered in marble dust and scratches on floor. Nothing was put down when they used the trolley. That's not even the issue. The cut out for the cook top was cut too big. The seams, 4 of them, are jagged, large, and epoxy does not match the stone. The sink was not centered when installed. The installers said marble doesn't cut like hard stone and hence looks "sugared". The owner says the same, and that white stone shows more of a seam. I was concerned by the number of seams but asked that I understood that seams don't show like they did 20 years ago as they are much tighter and not obvious. No one said that doesn't apply to white marble. I visited 3 local fabricators and showed pictures of the seams. All said it looked like the stone was cut with a dull blade or the wrong blade, the slabs were no pulled together with the machine and the epoxy was wrong color. They also questioned why there were 4 seams. And white marble should not show seams like this. Their fix is to razor blade out about 1/4" of seam and re epoxy in better color. That does not address the jaggedness of seam or make the seam any tighter. OR they will remove the countertop and recut and reinstall. But if they are cutting and installing the same way, how does that make it better? And now the measurements are changed...aren't they suppose to be precise measurements? I went with this company because the designer I was irking with recommended them, even though they charge almost twice what some other fabricators I had estimates from. I don't know yet what direction I will take, but I am sick about the whole experience. Whatever you do, stay far away from this company. read more

I'm going to wait to place my final review once I see if they will correct the problem. But communication this far has been non existent. And the mistake was on their part. I have pictures to prove it. Installers were nice guys, and bit overzealous when removing old countertops. But they do a good job for the most part. What they installed is beautiful. It's just not the stone we picked out. Gonna give them a chance to make it right. And if they do. I'll give them 5 stars. Let's see what happens read more

We had a good experience selecting and planning the granite installation and quite happy with the finished result. Our issue is that the installers scratched our hardwood floors in our entryway and kitchen. Unbelievably unprofessional in the installation to do this and not have any sense to lay down heavy cardboard or some other material to protect our floors. Now we're getting slow played by the owners to settle on fixing the floors. We've had three professional floor re-finishers say the same thing - the floor can't be repaired and stained because it won't match. We have to have the whole floor re-done and vacate the house while the work is done. You may find them the best price and quality of granite, but do yourself a favor and cover your floors before the installers show up! 1/12/2017 update: I'm late in this update but thanks to Karen we found a financial resolution. I really appreciated Karen sticking with this issue and dealing with her busy job. I would restate the quality and price is great. They just need to modernize the installation process with some better tools other than brute force. Karen is top notch. read more

Very pleased with this company. We built a small snack bar in our new home theater and wanted a special countertop. With such a small job we somewhat expected to be marginalized by granite companies and we were treated so at several other places. Granite & Marble Solutions treated us first class from the very beginning. They had a huge selection and worked with us to get a special granite bar top at a very reasonable price. It was measured, cut and installed so fast it made my head spin. We will go to Granite & Marble Solutions when we are ready to redo the big countertops in our main kitchen and will not even bother looking anywhere else. Awesome service - friendly staff - so quick to complete the project. We had been using another firm on McFarland Pkwy for years until we found GMS - glad we found them. The other firm quoted more than 50% more and told us it would take 6 weeks! GMS had the countertops measured, templates completed and everything installed in 7 days! Most irresponsible attitude & careless work. The workers had attitude. They say workers will come by afternoon to start work & after several phone calls the workers come at 4pm. Since when is 4pm afternoon I wonder. They had to remodel our kitchen. They were supposed to cover an area with sheet rock before they put the marble on the kitchen counter instead of they getting the sheet they make me the "owner" of the house get the material for them then they leave a careless big gap between the granite & wall at the base & when questioned all they say is oh such things happens & it's not our responsibility to take care of such gaps it's the owners. So basically they can work any how, do any damages but it's not their responsibility. The first thing they do is take advance even before work starts. After taking advance after a month of pestering they start the work. Most ridiculous irresponsible people with total unfriendly attitude. Will never ever recommend them to anyone.
