Food: I ordered the Fish-N-Chips. The food was ok. Something you could probably make at home. Nothing spectacular. The portions were good. The tarter sauce is what gave it the flavor. The fries where crispy. The soda came from a can. I also subbed their slaw for their potato salad. It was good and creamy. Service: The service was good. Pretty awesome spot! Can't believe it too me this long to try it. Parking is a bit tricky but worth it once you get inside. I went with the juicy BBQ brisket burger special featuring a tangy bbq sauce topped with extra crunchy onion rings. Soooo good and soooo big! And you know I had to pair it with my favorite beer Viva Brewery My son really enjoyed his Beer Battered Fish & Chips. This plate was huge so I helped him a little (as usual). We both loved the Fries! They are those crunchy kind we all love. My wife loved her 1/2 pound Cheddar Cheesy Burger! I didn't get a bite because it was that good. This was my first time at La Tuna. I had high expectations since my bf raved about it. We got there around 6:30/6:40. We went inside to order there was no line. I ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich with NO MUSTARD. We also order fried mushrooms. Around 7:15 I tell my bf I think it's been long enough that we should have our food. He goes to check on our food. Well come to find out they never made our order. The only good thing about this was they refunded our money and still made the order. Finally got to visit the La Tuna Grill and Bar (both are separate owners and businesses). Food at the grill is hand selected and locally sourced by the owners. One of the better spots for lunch and weekend dining for this side of town LaTuna Grill never disappoints, they have great portion size and flavors that are always bold. Really a good spot to share a plate or if you have the appetite of a grizzly bear you'll be more that satisfied. Small family owned operation so their quality is always there, and their revolving specials unlike most places really are special. They're very creative in modernizing typical American grill items. I really cant bash them for any of their menu items the food is where they shine the brightest. Also if you want a good brunch I highly suggest checking them out. We were there Saturday evening and it was nice out, a huge tree branch fell and came close to hitting us though definitely should keep the trees trimmed for safety. I cannot believe how long it took me to find this place!! I have fallen in love with the garden veggie bean burger. All other restaurants with veggie burgers should follow their lead. They took a simple bean patty and make an exquisite burger. The burger has black beans, tortilla chips, avocado, cheddar cheese, and salsa. It's amazingly paired and has become my favorite veggie burger. With the burger I selected a side of friend and the were nice and toasted not greasy and soggy but crisp on the outside and soft potatoes on the inside. The staff is very friendly and you might even find yourself having a nice conversation with the owners. The have indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating. #AllergenInfo - Soy: Their fry oil is Canola, not a blend, so it is soy-free. The coating for their fries is a mix they buy from a third party, so they are unsure what allergens it might contain. Their tarter sauce contains mayo, so it most likely has soy, but their slaw is mayo free. Their vinaigrette is made with Canola, and is also soy-free. The Demi-glace may be soy-free since I didn't seem to have any reaction from it. After the closing of Auden's Kitchen, I had to look for another place that served a soy-free classic version of Fish & Chips. This place moved to the top of my list, and when I was finally able to get here, I wasn't disappointed. Even though they didn't know if the coating on the fries was soy-free, I decided to take a chance anyway. They were crispy on the outside, and warm and creamy on the inside. Unlike many fries I've tried around town, I thought these were better with nothing else added, including salt. However, they don't hold their internal heat as long as the fish, so i recommend finishing them off first. The mayo-free slaw was also crisp, and was seasoned with Mexican spices, including cilantro. Unexpectedly, there was a little bit of heat in the spices that crept up on me as I continued to eat it. As with everything else on the plate, the fish was crisp on the outside, although softer on the inside than the fries. Since they knew that their tarter sauce contained mayo, they kindly offered me cocktail sauce as a substitute. It provided quite a kick to the fish, which was good, because the fish was a little bland on it's own. It was a close race, but I think it was better with the malt vinegar than the cocktail sauce. I left full, symptom free, and I'm looking forward to returning. On a second visit I had the Chicken Fried Steak, but since they weren't confident that the normal gravy was soy-free, the were happy to let me have the Demi-glace (brown) gravy as a substitute. The vinaigrette dressing is made with Canola oil, so it was safe for the side salad. The potato slices had crispy skin, had a little spice, and were still a little firm inside. The steak did need the big knife that came with the plate, but the steak had a good flavor even before I added the gravy. The Demi-glace gave the steak a really interesting and slightly sweet flavor that I think really does make a good alternative to a standard cream gravy. The crust did tend to break off the meat, but the pieces tended to stick together, and were easy to recombine with fork-fulls of the steak. By the time I got to the salad, I was nearly full, but the dressing was light and slightly sweet, and made for a nice end of the meal. I eventually got back here and was able to try their Cheezey Burger with added bacon and mushrooms. Since it would have been difficult to verify if their burger buns were soy-safe, I brought my own, and they were more than willing to use it as a substitution. The first taste fom my initial bite was a wonderful char fom the edges of the patty. The bacon added some nice flavor, but mushrooms didn't seem to. Unless you really like mushrooms. I would recommend ordering the burger without them. As before, the healthy portion of fries is better eaten first. read more

Went on a cold, gloomy January day. Upon entering the grill you are guided by a short wall leading you up to the order counter. Immediately greeted with a warm welcome. I substituted the blackened shrimp for fried and Nopalito salad for a Caesar. Hubby got cheeseburger and onion rings. We shared an order of fried mushrooms. Once you place your order they give you a fun mini cone with a number on it. The dining room is quaint. There was no background music or tv on. To quiet for me, so we walked across the courtyard to the icehouse. The vibe is definitely different in the afternoon in the middle of the week. We sat in the back bar on the tall tables and we had a view of the vibey courtyard. The fried mushrooms came out first. Not as good as I've had them before. They were Luke warm, still crispy. However, the mushroom was rubbery inside. Tasted like they were cooked earlier in the day. Shrimp tacos had huge golden shrimp covered by a mountain of cabbage. Caesar salad was also a bit disappointing. The lettuce was wilty and heavily coated with dressing. Hubby's burger and onion rings were on point. The portions are amazing. Flavor was on point. Placing the order was super easy. First, we ordered the food as a group but our food came out at a wildly different timing. So my food was cold by the time the final dish (3rd) came out. Have never had a bad experience here. The staff and atmosphere are always great. Have had the fish tacos and some of the po'boys. There's an outdoor bar serving drinks but be conscious they close early some nights. The nacho appetizer is pretty good too. They have plenty of outdoor seating, picnic benches spread apart so it's a safe place to eat following covid protocols. I've stopped by a few times while bike riding, also worth pointing out there's plenty of room to leave your bikes. Overall always a great experience coming here, come check it out! read more

Not the same since the original restaurant moved. Menu is limited, the huge smoker out front serves no justice. Only used for chicken and sausage and the chicken isn't great, couldn't even finish my chicken slider as small as it was. Burgers small compared to before when you could easily share one, yet same prices. Bar and ambience is still great and now accepts credit cards without problems.
