This is my goto place when I'm shopping in Paramus. I love their fresh homemade pecan chocolate chip cookies. The make these fresh, so you will have to place your order for these before ordering your meal. I leave every time with a box or two. Great drink selection. The menu is so large I usually try to order something different every time I stopped in. The last dish I had was garlic shrimp pasta, and that was very good. I have tried their burgers and meat dishes before my "no meat" campaign, and they were all great. The vibe is nice, and the bar is lit with screens for entertainment. If you ever decide to come here (and you appreciate fusion dishes),PLEASE have this dish. Between the ginger, plum wine, grilled onions, and perfectly grilled shrimp I would have to say this is one of the best dishes I've had from a chain restaurant in a long time. The flavor was powerful and I could not stop eating it! Also, I asked the waitress about getting the dish without chicken and she said they offer it with just the shrimp at a different price (not sure if it would be more or less). I ended up just getting the chicken on the side for my friend to have. The only thing that would have made this dish better is if they used jasmine rice instead of regular white rice. Im only giving this place 1 star because we had a very good waitress. Came here the night of 12/18 for a birthday dinner. This place does not take reservations, so warning. It took about an hour for me to get here and the gps took me to lord and Taylor's. I had to call to get directions on how to find the exact locations. Once i found parking, i went in for a table. It was around 7:45pm. They told me it would be an hour wait for 4 people and we would be one of the last reservations because dining had to close by 10pm. I gave the hostess my birthday cake, and phone number, and I sat in my car. Around 8:40p, I still Didnt receive a text message so my bf called and they said we can come in. This place is like a clone of the cheese cake factory. Similar decor, food, ect. We where seated at our table and our server came around 5 min later. We ordered right away due to the time. I was SOOO OVER IT. This was the worst bday dinner i EVER had in my life. But i only blame the cooks, the waitress and manager did their jobs. I made no fuss either, thats how OVER IT, i was. The Grand Lux Cafe is my go-to mall choice - I hate dealing with all the people and lines at the food court. I've been dinning at this Resturant for over 5+ years and I have to say their quality and presentation is consistent. The Garden State Plaza is a very busy mall so they do tend to fill up quickly (side note they do take reservations if you want to plan in advance) - there have been times were I've waited 30 minutes to an hour for a table, but its worth it. They pass out a little buzzer once you check in so you know when its your time to get seated, the wait staff is typically a friendly bunch - however there have also been times where I'll get a waiter who just can't wait to clock out. My favorites from the menu have to be the buffalo chicken bites, but if you're looking for something a little more filling you can opt for buffalo chicken rolls which are just as good and come with some type of noodle under it. The burger came out on a grease coated bun that made it soggy and a mess. That being said the taste was alright. Never disappointed with my choices. The servers are always friendly and accommodating. I'm a semi-regular at Grand Lux because I enjoy the food and it's one of the cheaper restaurants at the mall (not by that much but it's more affordable than the steakhouses). However I'm writing this review because my server went above and beyond today. My server, I think his name was Lizardo, was very friendly and attentive. Not only was my sweet and sour Shrimp and chocolate cake delicious as usual but Lizardo really made sure my experience was a good one. Even when I was leaving, he offer me to have my drink to go, fill it up in a takeaway cup and even go me a new straw as I was leaving when the old was soggy. Since I read that they are almost the same as Cheesecake Factory, I set my expectations low & they still didn't meet them! The waitress was nice but she missed the mark several times. We tried to stay on the safe side and order burgers and fries and we were STILL highly disappointed . We waited a long time for our food to come, and when it did, the burgers were only warm and the fries were cold. The waitress took forever to check on us, so we decided to just dig in. When she finally decided to come over to the table, we explained that the fries were cold. The manager came over and offered new fries but we were already done eating!!! The drinks we had were also watered down and it took over 10 minutes for her to bring bread to the table. To me- the restaurant had a weird vibe to it. It might be on the pricier end but there are ways around that. Make sure to go during happy hour or order from their small bites menu. They offer a list of options and options to satisfy whatever it is you are craving. Each plate ranges from $6-$12 (not too shabby) verses $20 (or more) for an entree. I'm not complaining, for $20 the entrees really serve the tag. My friends and I decided to order a mix of things. All things I would recommend; - eggplant fritters - buffalo chicken bites - poke tacos (3 hard shell tacos) - ceviche (not something I usually order. Wasn't crazy about it tbh, skip this) - spicy chicken flatbread sandwich (a shareable, delicious and healthy-ish portion) It was just 3 of us. We had all this, plus 2 drinks for around $25 each! Grand Luxe has been a staple at the mall for years and pretty popular to mall goers. I've been to other ones in other towns that the decor and food are better. The good thing about Grand Luxe is the menu. The menu has everything for everyone. The dishes are large portions and good for the whole family as they have a wide variety. When I go I usually get the Salmon 3ways which is 3 small portion size salmon filets made with three difference sauces with mash potatoes. It's always been my favorite. I do feel that the food quality has gone down but despite that as far as chain restaurants go this is probably the one I do still go to. They used to have a seafood salad that was the best and they should really bring that back. read more

This place remained closed for a while during COVID so I was thrilled when they finally opened. My ratings are from 1-10. 1 being the lowest, 10 the highest. Service and staff: 10- the servers and staff were extremely kind and personable people. I've never had an issue with the staff so they exceed in customer service skills. Food: 9- Several dishes on the menu are delicious! I usually order from the sandwich or salad section when I go but this go around I decided to get the beef Wellington. The meat was tender but a bit on the salty side. I suggest if your watching your blood pressure not to order it. However, if you like your food highly seasoned then this dish is for you. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were tasty. My husband ordered the Thai fried chicken. Let's just say he didn't leave any food on his plate. Pandemic precautions: 10- tables were sanitized after every guest, tables were feet apart, plenty of ventilation. Patio was open for guest. All staff and servers wore mask. We sat in doors and there were not any guest around us. Overall, The pandemic didn't stop this place from remaining great. They are following all precautions and the food is still delicious.
