Ob-sessed with this place. Made our Florence trip that much better and solidified our next place we'll be staying when we return. We only explored the restaurant and accompanying pool area, but the main house, side house, and gardens had gorgeous exteriors. There was a beautiful wedding taking place, as well as a private dinner and the staff were still relaxed, seamless, and attentive. We sat for several hours drinking and eating by the pool. It was the perfect temperature outside and the venue was so peaceful. The waiter brought everything we needed at an excellent pace and thought of things before we even needed them. Villa Cora has everything from a spa to event space to a rooftop terrace for a romantic evening. It's situated next to the gorgeous Medici gardens and property. Cannot wait to return for more!

Our meeting place when in Florence. Old world elegance with excellent service. Quiet neighborhood.

I stayed at Villa Cora for 3 night in September while attending a wedding in Florence. My room was nice however for the price I was stuck in a small room in a back room with a view of a tree( I think because I was traveling alone and I did not book through them directly). The food and service were great. The location was also good if you do not want to stay directly in Florence. It is about a 20 minute walk into Florence which is excellent if the weather is nice. They offer free shuttle service to downtown a great pool and breakfast buffet. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay in Florence away from the hustle and bustle Grand Hotel Villa Cora is for you.

A fairytale-like experience, with gorgeous views of Santo Spirito and the terracotta-tiled rooftops. It's a little expensive, but what you'd expect at a hotel rooftop bar and I feel it's worth the splurge. There's a full cocktail menu, including various spritzes and wines, so have at it. I prefer sticking to a spritz or wine (in general) in Italy and of course their Aperol Spritz is on point. They'll serve you little snacky snacks like olives, chips and taralli, which I appreciate (and wish the majority of places in the states did this, but I find that only the most pricey hotel bars give you snacks. Don't you think snacks are crucial when drinking?) Heating lamps in chillier weather allow for you to enjoy the experience practically all year long. Note: they can accommodate groups of 4-6 on the couches that line the interior of the terrace, but if you're a table of 2, you get to be right at the best viewpoint. The crowd is as touristy as you'd expect and on my last visit, I found it leaning towards folks in their 20s (I sure as hell wasn't drinking in bars like this when I was in my 20s). Service is prompt and slightly formal, if not the warmest you'll experience in town. And as you'd expect, you're welcome to stay for a while, taking in the sunset or evening as you like, an idyllic way to get your night started.

The room and bathroom were spacious, luxurious, and beautifully designed. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and every detail of the experience felt thoughtful and elevated. I'm convinced every future hotel breakfast will pale in comparison. I still think about the incredibly fresh raspberries and strawberries I had every morning! I also loved the robes and slippers provided in the room, which made the stay feel even more comfortable and indulgent. The location is perfect -- close to everything and just steps from the Duomo, yet surprisingly peaceful and not overly noisy. The hotel itself smells amazing and is decorated in such a beautiful, modern style. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. It was worth every penny, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

When we got to our room, we loved the view overlooking the street, just one block from the Florence Cathedral. The room was very comfortable, especially after arriving in the rain. As we explored the city, we spoke with Noemi at check-in and asked about the spa services they offered. She was a good listener and helped decide on a package. We looked through the brochure, and she recommended booking in advance to ensure availability. We decided on the €295 couples package, which included a couples massage 30 min/each. The private spa would be booked for two hours total. We booked it for the following day, and she informed us that cancellations were not allowed within 24 hours. Not only was the hotel stay excellent and the service top-tier, but the spa experience was on another level of luxury. We were escorted to a private spa area that included a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, bathroom, shower, robe and slippers. The massage therapists each gave us a relaxing 30-minute massage. Snacks, berries, and wine were also included. We chose to have them delivered to our room afterwards but you can have it during your spa allotted time. I must say, for any special occasion, this experience is absolutely worth it! Besides the comfortable room and friendly staff, the spa treatment was hands down the highlight of our stay. I can say with certainty that when I return to Florence, I wouldn't be able to stay anywhere else.

Staff is very friendly, helpful, and spoke English. Rooms are astounding, tasteful modern upgrades that work with the historic surroundings. Attention to detail in the decor is very evident. Beautiful 15th century original frescos in the rooms add another level above other hotels to this place. Not everyday you can stay in a historic palace! This place emanates old world luxury and grandeur. Two major negatives which prevent me from giving 5 stars: Wifi signal can be rather weak in some rooms since the routers seem mostly to be in the lobby. If each room had a access point with good wifi, that would be a big plus and frankly should be not an issue given the price. Second, the name can cause confusion when attempting to locate. If you type in Palazzo Guicciardini, you get no less than 3 separate locations on google maps. Apparently there is also another Palazzo Guicciardini near Via de Guicciardini which is NOT this hotel. Also there is a garden of Palazzo Guicciardini nearby but not exactly the right location. Make sure to check the correct access on Booking.com.

The entire home was purchased last year and renovated into a hotel. If you can stay here, especially if you can get a good rate from an online site such as booking.com, then do it. The staff is very friendly and attentive. This is also a very quiet hotel, with no street noise, something that you'll appreciate in Florence, especially if you have jet lag. The hotel is located on very quiet via Santo Spirito, just across the river. This might be a hike if you arrive by train or bus, but the location is perfect. First, south of the river is by far less touristy; you have more of a chance of eating with the locals. You can very easily get a good, reasonable meal at nearby Piazza Santo Spirito. Second, you can easily enter and leave "downtown" Florence each day across the nearby Ponte Vecchio. The Uffizi and other sites are just a short walk away. After I checked out, they were very glad to hold my bag for the day. When I returned in the evening to pick it up, they were quick to offer coffee if I wanted it, use of a rest room, etc. They are just that friendly.

It was built in the 6th century AD by the Byzantines as part of the "newer" city walls to augment the older Roman ones and protect the city during the Gothic War. The circular shape, which was rare in the Middle Ages, reflects ancient Roman building techniques. The tower rests on a circular wall that surrounded a swimming pool or Roman thermal bath. In the basement there is a calidarium, with brick floor channels for heat, which would have been used for steam baths. According to our guide, Roberta, it was used as a women's prison in the 12th century. Pagliazza references the straw mat bedding upon which the inmates slept. Later on, it was converted into the bell tower of a church. Eventually it was acquired as a private residence. Today it is home to a luxury hotel with a small museum and restaurants. The museum showcases artifacts from excavations dating back to the Roman and medieval times. Although we didn't stay here, the history of the Pagliazza Tower is very interesting.

I usually don't get impressed by decors of restaurants but the color and the elements and the layout of the restaurant somehow just gave me the relaxation I needed. We loved our entire experience but the highlight was the food. Every single dish was beautifully prepared and so so delicious. We fell in love with truffle here. And don't think we have had truffle that blew our mind elsewhere after (including Michelin two and three stars). I can taste the chefs mastery of the ingredients. No dish was overly complicated but each ingredient and sauce just complemented each other perfectly. You feel like you are in the forest where the food comes from. It's one of the meals I remember the most vividly, even after 4 years. Even on our culinary journey throughout Italy, this was a clear highlight. My only regret is we didn't purchase the truffle products here. I highly recommend this restaurant!
