Hotel Spadai was highly recommended to us by my sister-in-law. She constantly raves about the place, and I could totally see why. The hotel was centrally located, and it's one of the more modern, elegant hotels we've stayed at during our trip. The Duomo and Piazza Santa Maria Novella were steps away from the hotel, and it's a less than 10 minute taxi to the train station. Their complimentary breakfast was amazing. They offered a huge variety of items including hot food, tortes, cereals, fruit, cheeses, parfaits, quiches, etc. I enjoyed a latte every morning with them. Our room at Hotel Spadai was excellent. Very spacious with tall ceilings and had plenty of room for us to lay out 2 large pieces of luggage and 2 small carry-ons. The bathroom was big as well, but the shower was disproportionate to it. The shower felt so much smaller, and what's weird was its two double doors. The doors met at the corner of the shower and didn't close all the way, so water could easily escape to the floor. Other than that, I would 1000% stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Florence. read more

The best hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying at! From check-in to check-out, everything was absolutely top-notch. The room and bathroom were spacious, luxurious, and beautifully designed. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and every detail of the experience felt thoughtful and elevated. The amenities were fantastic -- especially the unexpected happy hour at the bar, which was such a lovely touch. And the breakfast buffet? Truly unmatched. I'm convinced every future hotel breakfast will pale in comparison. I still think about the incredibly fresh raspberries and strawberries I had every morning! I also loved the robes and slippers provided in the room, which made the stay feel even more comfortable and indulgent. The location is perfect -- close to everything and just steps from the Duomo, yet surprisingly peaceful and not overly noisy. The hotel itself smells amazing and is decorated in such a beautiful, modern style. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. It was worth every penny, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! read more

We stayed at Hotel Spadai and had a wonderful check-in experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating. When we got to our room, we loved the view overlooking the street, just one block from the Florence Cathedral. The room was very comfortable, especially after arriving in the rain. As we explored the city, we spoke with Noemi at check-in and asked about the spa services they offered. She was a good listener and helped decide on a package. We looked through the brochure, and she recommended booking in advance to ensure availability. We decided on the €295 couples package, which included a couples massage 30 min/each. The private spa would be booked for two hours total. We booked it for the following day, and she informed us that cancellations were not allowed within 24 hours. Not only was the hotel stay excellent and the service top-tier, but the spa experience was on another level of luxury. We were escorted to a private spa area that included a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, bathroom, shower, robe and slippers. The massage therapists each gave us a relaxing 30-minute massage. Snacks, berries, and wine were also included. We chose to have them delivered to our room afterwards but you can have it during your spa allotted time. I must say, for any special occasion, this experience is absolutely worth it! Besides the comfortable room and friendly staff, the spa treatment was hands down the highlight of our stay. I can say with certainty that when I return to Florence, I wouldn't be able to stay anywhere else. read more

After staying at their sister property in Rome, we were excited to stay at this beautiful boutique hotel Spadai. This hotel was so beautiful and clean. The beds were very comfortable, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, accommodating a late night check in on her first night and assisted with reservations for dinner and suggestions and even booked us a cab on checkout. And did I mention the wonderful breakfast buffet that had amazing handmade cappuccino's or espressos. read more

Excellent hotel, 150 yards from the Duomo. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. Staff is fantastic, super friendly and everyone had a least a little English, at least enough to communicate. Best bed linens to be found, we had great nights rest every day. The included breakfast was also outstanding. We enjoyed a Spa appointment, wish we could have included a massage, but that was not available. Steam shower and sauna were great to rejuvenate after 8 miles of walking in Florence. We will be back again. read more

Hotel is perfectly situated right across the street from the Duomo & walking distance to most sights. Hotel is modern & European feeling. It was a plus to be able to run back to our room a few times during the day to wash up, get a cold drink and recharge batteries. Triple deluxe room is large & luxurious with a king bed. Daily Breakfast & happy hour are provided with our mini bar restocked daily. Bathroom is well stocked with hooks, towels, cotton, q tips, everything we could need. Bed feels comfortable & room is cool and quiet. However, Not much of a view. We have a lot of space to put our belongings, even racks for our suitcases. Our chair opens up to a twin size bed. We would and could be comfortable here for a month. At sunset we took the elevator to five and climbed the glass spiral staircase to the observation glass pyramid. We stood on a glass floor and had a 360 degree over the rooftops of Florence. Staff opened the windows for an even better view. Breakfast was obscene, endless beautiful & very delicious. Eggs & crepes are made to order, hot meats were covered. Fruits were abundant, colorful, fresh & sweet. Pastries endless. Coffees, cappuccino, juices & water were bought to our table. There was a yogurt bar with 12 fixings, paninis, cheeses, vegan offerings, pancakes.... Exceptional & very delicious!!! Staff here can't do enough for us. Everyone speaks English & has been professional, helpful, efficient & very kind. Our three night stay here was a luxurious pleasure! We asked for wash clothes & they got to our room before we did. Housekeeping came daily & did an excellent job, they read our minds! When we come ack to Florence there is no other place we'd stay! read more

Absolutely wonderful! Everything about this hotel is top-notch from the welcome greeting from the staff, to the scent in the hotel lobby, which I thought was a nice touch. The rooms are super clean, in fact the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Great sized rooms for Europe and the breakfast was spectacular. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again! read more

Checked in here yesterday a from my 3 day stay HILTON EXCELSIOR which is walking distance from HOTEL SPADAI. My biggest regret was not checking in firs.. it would have saved me thousands of dollars with better and cleaner facilities. tFirst of all this hotel is in the heart of Florence. Walking distance to the Duomo and premium shops and restaurants, CLEAN!!, friendly staff, fraction of a price compared to Hilton, free mini bar (where do you find that?), and free breakfast. However if you are looking for the old feel and design of Italy , this hotel will not give you that. It is very modern which my kids and I love. Be best thing is it is CLEAN AND affordable. Totally worth every penny. Room Size is decent. Will be checking back here again. read more

My only real complaint is we don't get to stay here longer. We only stayed here one night as we were passing through Florence and really enjoyed it. Hotel is modern, rooms are nice and large, and the breakfast in the morning was super good with lots of variety. Staff was nice for the most part and our short visit left a good impression. If ever I return to Florence this will most likely be the spot I check out first. Also, super convenient location! read more

Big room for four with a huge bathroom. Bathroom was filled with toiletries needed and robes and slippers. Huge shower and jetted tub. Breakfast buffet was the best I've seen and eaten in a hotel. Think an entire table of fruit, a section with cakes and pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs, breads and more. Fantastic happy hour in the lobby early evening. Hotel smells nice too. It's in the heart of the city so a close walk to all major sights. Not a far walk from train station. read more

Went to Europe for the first time month and ended the trip in Florence the beginning of October. We started at an Air BnB in Amsterdam and ended our trip here. Saved the best for last in accommodations. Three nights was perfect for my wallet. Every penny was worth it. I used to work in the hospitality business and my friend who selected this property still does. Loved everything about this luxury hotel. Service was unbelievable every employee was attentive and friendly. It starts at check-in when you're given a voucher for a glass of complimentary prosecco in their lobby bar. Like most hotels in Europe their is a complimentary breakfast in the morning. Hotel Spadai's had something for everyone. If you want an espresso drink it cost more but it is available to order. There was everything from cereal, yogurt to pastries and egg dishes like quiche and bacon as well. Fresh fruit and fruit juices. There is also complimentary appetizers in the bar I believe it ran from 5-7pm cocktails you pay for. It was a nice spread. Loved the rooms my friend and I had changed our reservations adding an additional night at the beginning of our stay so we shared the room the first night that I remained in. It had a large bathroom with a deep Jacuzzi bath tub and a separate shower. They even had bath crystals for use. The location was about a block and a half from the Duomo, lots of restaurants bars and shops in walking distance. I loved Florence and this stay made me love it even more! read more

Absolutely loved this beautiful hotel. The friendliest most helpful staff in Italy ready to answer questions and help in any way possible. Beautiful bar area and the hotel is located in the city center in walking distance of everything. We received a complimentary bottle of Chianti and a thank you card from the staff. So much class. We would come back for sure. read more

Excellent - top notch - a lovely introduction to Florence, Tuscany, and Europe. Nicolai upgraded us to a breathtaking suite, that feels very homey. The complimentary breakfast, mini bar, and dinner buffet make it difficult to leave and enjoy all the sights. Overall, the Italian people are so much warmer than the Spanish - the Spanish are kind of "funny" (if you know what I mean); and the Italian men, mama mia! read more

Great location in the heart of central Firenze with quick and easy access to the major museums, Santa Maria Novella train station, shopping, restaurants, enotecas, gelaterias and mercato centrale. Excellent beds and linens - perfect after a long day of walking/sightseeing. read more

This hotel was wonderful! The people at the front desk were very kind and the room was amazing. I felt like I was staying in a room at a palace. The ceilings were at least 10 feet tall, the fridge was fully stocked (and all items were complimentary), and in the evening there was a turn down service which came with a card and a welcome treat. They go above and beyond on their complimentary breakfast as well. Instead of serving their food buffet style, they give you a menu and tell you to order whatever you like. Their breakfast wasn't simple muffins, breads, and fruits either. You could order anything from crepes, eggs, bacon, dessert, etc. There was another menu of items you could order for a small fee, but the complimentary menu had so many things to choose from that there was no need. The staff at the restaurant was more than welcoming. Should I return to Florence again, I would definitely stay here.I would also highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering a stay in Florence. read more

Absolutely Perfect hotel and perfect stay. My husband and I stayed here in July 2017, and we were overwhelmingly pleased with this hotel. For a European hotel, it was more than spacious! The accents and furnishings were modern and updated - plus the overall design was chic and elegant. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the room air conditioning was more than adequate (a few times we accidentally set it TOO low and woke up freezing!!), and the bathroom was ultra modern as well! The room has armoire and a safe, but also has unlimited access to the minibar #wateronwater (which is included in the room fee), great wifi, and black-out shades. The cleaning staff do an amazing job, and it was always a treat to come back to our room after a long day exploring! The location is fantastic, within steps of the Duomo, walking distance to the SMN train station, and even close enough to walk to all the major sites (Piazza Michelangelo, Uffizi, Accademia...). I would 100% stay here again! It seems it was recently redone within the last year or 2, on a beautiful old street, but the hotel screams modern and updated. I don't know how the price is so affordable... read more

This hotel has a staff that takes hospitality seriously. They were all friendly, accommodating and welcoming. It's a place that makes you glad you stayed there and wish that you can return. The rooms were well appointed, with good beds and linens. The bathrooms were modern, with high quality towels, etc. The TP isn't what Americans are used to, though. The location is great. The breakfast buffet is very nice. I don't think you're likely to ever regret staying here. read more

I love this hotel, we stayed here for two days. And it is one of the best hotels we stayed at. I wish our stay was a bit longer. Staff were amazing. Otavia at the reception is awesome and Abdell . It is a four star hotel but should be a 5 star for the service and rooms. Very modern decorated and distinguish elegant style. I do recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Of course if they decided to come To Florence. read more

Of the four hotels that we stayed in in Italy, this was by far the best in terms of location and amenities. I highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Florence. It's located on one of the main strips that all converge on the square with the Duomo and other structures. It's also walking distance to the gallery where David is located, as well as the train station if you want to walk and save on cab fare. The amenities are also fantastic, and includes everything you'd ever need in a home away from home. There is a printer in the lobby that easily connects to your phone so you can print out all the tickets for the different museum and touristy sites. HOWEVER, the hotel is only getting 4 stars instead of 5 because of a little incident that left us feeling not so great. The accommodations I booked included breakfast (I wasn't aware until the receptionist informed me that my reservations came with breakfast, but I went back to check and she was right). So on the first morning, we go to breakfast and it's your standard spread - nothing crazy or special, but we figured some toast and a cup of coffee would not be a bad idea. We go in and there is a host stand with no one behind it. We see other people walk in so we follow. As we sit down, a waiter comes around and asks everyone their room numbers, so we tell him and he leaves. He comes back a few minutes later with a sheet and tells us he can't see our room number/name. I look for my name and it's not on there. He tells us he has to call the front desk, and for us to please wait. We wait, he comes back, and says he needs us to go down to the front desk, but please finish our breakfast. I'm thinking the list if of guests who booked breakfast, and maybe we didn't and they think we're trying to sneak inside. It leaves a sour feeling at the table and of course we leave right away, food untouched. We go down to the front desk, and the girl working immediately apologizes. For some reason, there was no reservation showing at all, but NOW there was, so all was resolved. I understand the situation, but I wasn't happy with how it was handled and the multiple times the waiter came to our table. Other guests were obviously aware something was going on and it was really embarrassing. Having said that, I would still stay here again, I would just opt to have breakfast somewhere else. read more

Fantastic location! I block away from the Duomo, walking distance to all the major attractions, cafes at each corner, and street performers on the same block in the evenings. I would highly recommend this hotel. read more

Hello, fellow travelers headed to the wonderful city of Florence, Italy. I would like to give Hotel Spadai a five-star rating. The premises are well-done and the location fabulous. We walked to most places in the city, and the two times we left town for the day the awesome front-desk staff provided us with excellent directions for train travel. A full breakfast in the dining room beautifully served was the perfect way to start the day. We enjoyed the comfortable and gracious bar, which was staffed by individuals who knew how to make a cocktail. The complimentary happy hour buffet was much appreciated in a city where the dinner hour begins at 8pm. A truly professional staff all-around that is skilled, friendly and warm is a top feature. read more

Stayed here for a week with my wife. Such a great location. We could see the Duomo from our window, and could hear the church bells every morning, so charming. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was great. Fresh water bottles were replenished every day in our fridge. Very safe at night in this neighborhood, and so many things to do around the area. Walking distance from Ponte Vecchio, Accademia, Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio ect. We recently spent three nights at the amazing Hotel Spadai in Florence. This perfectly located boutique hotel is sublime, from the friendly, attentive staff, to the stylish designs, and comfortable accommodations. Marble Baths, with bidet, and towel warmers. Memory foam beds with luxurious bedding, black out drapes, and insulated windows to greatly reduce any street noise. This hotel is a block from the Duomo and a block from the Medici Chapel. I cannot possibly think of a reason I would ever stay anywhere else when in Florence. read more

This was one of our hotels during our honeymoon trip in Italy! The staff was kind, the room (suite on top floor) was modern & had a view of the duomo! The breakfast was varied (fruit, scrambled eggs, meat platter, baked goods, veggies, cereals, yogurt etc). It was great they had non- dairy milk, but like most hotels the option was soy milk (which I don't drink lol). It's important to note that the veggies tasted straight out of a can and their baked goods were frozen (they state it btw). Luckily I just brought oatmilk from my room as there are mini fridges that they stick with complimentary drinks but there's enough room to put in your own food/drinks! Also it was so close to the action! Steps away from Eataly, duomo, and other shops! Great place to stay- highly recommend. read more

We could not have asked for better Florence accommodations then the Hotel Spadai. Rooms are beautiful, spacious, and comfortable (best bed/sheets/pillows/robes/towels/etc.). They were very thoughtful in celebrating our honeymoon with a beautiful bottle of Prosecco and a lovely little decoration. As silly as it sounds, I loved the lighting in both the bathroom and bedroom- some hotels don't offer enough. Staff was incredible- always attentive, friendly, professional and competent. We enjoyed the welcome drink during happy hour. Albeit expensive, laundry service was very quick and of great quality. Location was excellent- just steps to the Duomo, and easily walkable to everything else of interest. There's literally NOTHING I could complain about. I feel that this hotel is a great value. I feel terrible about our departure- we were running a bit late and the front desk was kind enough to get us a taxi to save us time from walking, and in my haste to run out to our ride, I dropped and broke a bottle of RED wine in the lobby. They didn't blink an eye- they smiled and ushered us out the door, assuring me not to worry- kindest people ever. Thank you Hotel Spadai and your very special staff- I'll sing your praises everywhere! read more

For a grand re-open, this hotel wasn't so grand. Though the rooms were nice, but the staff was luke warm and the food was horrible. For starters, the colors of the hotel though modern, were gray and beige which made the entrance of the hotel feel drab and small. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, pillows and sheets. The bathroom was nice with a decent size shower, being in Italy. However, you has to flush the toilet twice to stop it from constantly running, and the faucet of the sink was so outstretched that you had to stand to the side to was your face, to not injur yourself. The housekeeping closed at 9pm so if you needed anything, you had to call reception and even though they had a bellhop immediately come to your room, you had to repeat what you had requested due to a huge language barrier. Also, the floor of the room was dusty and the maids didn't clean well or replace the towels as you would expect. This was seen first hand when we came back to the room, and our used hand towels were still in the shower with the empty bottles of shampoo and body wash, while the rest of the bathroom had been straightened up. The breakfast though offered a good selection, tasted like food from IHOP and this included the weak coffee. The butter offered tasted like oil and not what butter is supposedto taste like, the eggs tasted like powdered eggs, and the sausage tasted like cheap hot dogs you buy at a sports event. The breakfast space was small and you had no room on the tables to comfortably move around. The hotel had free WiFi when was good but the signal strength kept fluctuating, even while sitting in the lobby. It was a decent hotel, with a great location but average as I was expecting better quality for a re-opening. They need to drastically improve their quality of food offered as well as their housekeeping service. read more

The hotel, although beautifully remodeled didn't completely hit the mark for me. The location was great but was on a very loud and busy street and wasn't ideal for sleep. The room was ample size and the bathroom was the best we experienced in our time in Europe. However there was no conditioner in the bathroom and I had to buy some from the store down the road. The rooftop "deck" is really just a tiny little room open glass panels. Awesome views but could only be in there for a few minutes. There are no balconies or lounge areas to just hang out in which was a bummer. The staff was very nice and also helped us book a last minute wine tasting tour. The breakfast spread was ample but the food wasn't all that great to be honest. read more

Well I have a physical condition that requires me to always be with my pet including at work and everything. We're headed on our honey moon in September. 6 hotels in Italy ( including much more expensive ones like la sirenuse ) have approved my dog of course with welcoming arms however this hotel NOPE . They undertstand very well about my medical condition but would rather not accommodate us and my 9 pound pet. She's traveled the world with me and we've stayed in the nicest hotels around the world indclusing la Rosa in Kitzbühel Austria , st Regis in aspen , faena house in Miami Beach etc etc and of course they have the intelligence and professionalism to understand my condition and know how terrible it would be to decline us as guests. So I am blownnnnnnnn away by the lack of compassion and straight up illegally denying us as guests at their hotel. Of course we will just stay somewhere else and have an amazing time but I just want to warn other guests . This is a beautiful example of not putting the guests first - which is what a hotel should ALWAYS do. Oh well! Caio read more

We were three adults staying for two nights, and were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Spadai in Florence. We arrived late morning before official check-in time, and they stored our bags while we explored the city a bit. Upon returning, we went to our deluxe room, which had plenty of space for our king size bed and comfortable rollaway. The bathroom was quite spacious as well, and there was a huge jacuzzi tub! Unfortunately, the jets in the tub stopped working on the first day, and they were unable to fix it in time for us to use for the remainder of the stay. The room and hotel were very clean, modern and updated, and our bedding was quite comfortable. The free wi-fi was quite reliable and fast, and I really appreciated that they had a computer and printer in the lobby for guests to use, as we needed to print train tickets. The breakfast buffet was adequate, nothing great, but a good start to the day and enough to hold us over until lunch. The hotel is in a very convenient location, walking distance to many attractions - Duomo, Uffizi, Academia, lots of others - as well as the main train terminal. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and they assisted in calling a taxi for airport transfer and ensured they took credit cards, at my request. Very nice stay overall; I would return and recommend to others! read more

Excellent hotel. The property was immaculate. We saw hotel staff performing minor repairs daily such as cleaning scuff marks from walls and floors. Location was ideal: just a block from the duomo on a pedestrian only street. We took the train here from Milan Centrale. The walk from the station to the hotel was about 9 minutes. Beware: it was not easy to navigate the narrow sidewalks and cobblestone streets with lots of luggage. We stayed in a suite with a separate sitting area. It was very roomy. Breakfast was excellent with lots of meats, cheeses, salads, fresh fruit, freshly baked pastries and breads, and egg dishes. Make sure to include breakfast with your rate.
