    Porridge and fried donut
    Jenny H.

Ordering was overwhelming lol it is easier for you to decide what you want and then tell the cashier the numbers of the order. Depending on what time you go, they may run out of certain items. Everything is very fairly priced and affordable. We waited about 25 minutes for food. Porridge was good and I got it with the chinese fried donut and it was so good and crispy. The beef chow fun was good too - not too oilly or salty. The cilantro rice roll is okay. I forgot what meat came with it. I used the rice roll sauce to dip the chinese donut in and then dipped it in the porridge.. best combo of flavor lol When you order, you get a complimentary hot soy milk, coffee or tea. I got soy milk - no sugar added. You can also get a soda for just $1 each. The staff is nice and very overwhelmed so be patient. You order at the counter and sit and wait. So don't expect too much. Packing my leftovers, I had to ask for containers. I wish they just had everything to pack leftovers out for folks because I felt bad for bothering the staff when I needed a plastic bag or a container. They had one type of container/take out box out on the side for you, but I needed the specific container for porridge leftovers and a plastic bag. Parking had plenty in the lot. The restroom was okay. Honestly, I'd come back. Super affordable. Good quality food. Very HK vibe

Love the no frills and a hustle and bustle shop. I actually don't even know if I'm using these terms correctly, but it's how I feel about this restaurant. You order at the counter and you are offered a fresh hot homemade soy milk, which was delicious! I heard good things about this place and I'm so happy to finally try it. The clay pot rice was fresh and delicious. It came with a soup. The fried dough sticks are one of our favorites. The dim sum here is also tasty. I'm sure everything here is delicious because every time I look at someone else's order I want to try it. I can't wait to come back to try more dishes!

    #26 Shrimp dumplings $4.75

I finally stopped by this spot and got a couple items. I got shrimp dumplings and a pork w/ cilantro vermicelli roll. All made fresh, I had to wait 10 min for my food. The woman at the counter was very friendly and courteous. When you order look at the large menu on the wall and let them know which item number you want. The food goes nicely with some soy sauce and the hot chili crunch oil. I will definitely be back to try their other foods. The food reminds me of what you'd find in SF Chinatown. It seems to be a small family owned restaurant.

Updated review. There are definitely some hits and misses. Some dishes were not as flavorful but it may be so that it is easier for older folks to eat. Things I would get again: Clay pot rice and congee. These dishes were flavorful and worth trying. Things I would not get again: The stir fried noodle dishes. The noodles did not have enough of the traditional "wok hei" or aromatic stir frying flavor to them. The thin noodles were soggy. The handmade soy milk is a very nice touch and complimentary with meals.

Beef cheurng fun (beef vermicelli menu item name)

This place is off the beaten path! It is in the same plaza as Target (next to AT&T). Great place for some Hong Kong Cafe style food with Dim Sum (we tried the rice noodle-cheurng fun, they called it "vermicelli" and lok bok goa). I did noticed they put cilantro in the cheurng fun (it's made to order so I was able to ask to omit that!) Prices are reasonable and they don't expect a tip because it's "get your own food and bust your own table" kind of place! Try it for yourself if you're looking for cheap Chinese food that's not greasy.

This is a fairly new place, so they still have some kinks to work out. Go early because they do run out of certain items if you come later. The service is a bit slow, but friendly staff. The place is clean, everyone puts away their own trays similar to IKEA. No tipping and prices are like pre COVID, very reasonable. Few things I ordered: 1. Pan Fried Noodles, until it is actually fried to crispy, I don't think I will order this again. 2. Beef Chow Fun, it's good but not oily enough (some people might like dry). 3. Wonton Noodles, this one I will definitely order again, the wontons tasted good. 4. Clay pot rice, I would order this again, a little salty after added some soy sauce into the mix, but the burnt rice, who doesn't love burnt rice. 5. The Cheung Fun (Shrimp Rice Noodles), was a little thick, but taste like Cheung Fun to me, so would order again. Ordered the Century Egg Pork Porridge and Chicken/Egg Fried Rice to go, didn't eat it yet. Have a little patience, everything is made to order, so it takes a little time, 10-15mins to get your food. They give you free Tea or Soy Milk and Soup with the meal. So everything only came out to about $76. Had I gone somewhere else, probably all that would've cost at least $120 with tips. For a family of 5, this is definitely a money saver. Overall, I will be back to try other items and do recommend place.

    Soy milk

I love this place! It's our 3rd time here during the weekend and the food is delicious for a late breakfast. Price is very reasonable, plus... there's no tip! They have free soy milk for all dine in. Best to get there earlier as the most recent time we went, they were running out of soy milk (around 11:45am). I like ordering their congee the most. Reminds me of the small shops in Hong Kong. My son loves their wonton and orders it every single time. You order first and then find a table. Once your order is ready, they will call your number to pick up your food. When you are done, they have a designated "tray return" area for you. Think IKEA food court. Extra sauce, water, seasonings, and to-go boxes are on the counter across from the "tray return". I also liked that their food is not oily or overly seasoned. If you want a stronger flavor, you may need to add them yourself. Owner and cashier were super friendly! Definitely our go to spot for Chinese breakfast now.

Solid, home style food at really great prices. The restaurant is clean and the lady at the counter was friendly. We will definitely be back.

Grand Cafe -- honest, tasty, and they refuse tips! Delicious food, big portions, and very fair prices. The best part? They don't accept tips -- by choice. In a city where 18% is the norm, this is pure integrity. Service is still warm and fast. Support good people doing business the right way. 學阿和哥話齋又好食又抵食,尼檔嘢係食晏嘅最佳選擇。喺而家個個都搏懵焗人比18%貼士嘅時勢,佢竟然唔收貼士,尼種逆向思維直程係聰明到不得了。

Just like Hong Kong cafe fast food chain. Good service Great price Yummy food especially the clay pot rice

$11.80 for rice, soup, and tea/soy milk. Tastes are not bad, and nothing to complain. Definitely will come back for lunch again.

    Grilled porkchop plate
    James R.

Decided to try this place and see if it's any good. The customer service was nice and I was greeted and got my order taken care of right away. I decided to order the grilled porkchop plate with white rice and also the pork dumplings. The grilled porkchop was cooked well but lacked flavor and the plate itself was very underwhelming and lacked creativity. There was way too much rice and they put an entire hardboiled egg in there and two dried out pieces of broccoli. The plate needs a side salad to go along with it and maybe a sauce because the plate was very dry tasting. Now On to the pork dumplings WHAT THE HELLY was that?! Presentation wise the dumpling look amazing but the flavor was very lackluster and underwhelming. The pork inside tasted like unseasoned pork and there was just no flavor to it. I don't know if I ordered the wrong thing but overall the food was not the best.

It's the perfect example of what a neighborhood spot should be--warm, welcoming, and feeling like an extension of someone's home. What a cute little cafe! I work nearby and was looking for something light to eat and found this…read morecafe on Yelp! There are a lot of options on their menu to choose from; sandwiches, bagels, smoothies, teas, pastries, lattes, etc. I got the cream cheese bagel which came with arugula, avocado, and strawberries on the side. The menu states it comes with cucumbers, but mine didn't have any. It was only $7 and filled me up right away! I ordered the iced horchata latte; it didn't taste much like horchata, but it was still good! Sweet and cinnamony! I also grabbed some empanadas to take home to heat up myself (they also offered to heat it for me too). I got the jalapeño hatch chicken and the potato curry empanadas. Both were very filling and delicious! My favorite was jalapeño hatch chicken! The outside of the empanada was crispy and had a subtle sweetness to it, while the filling was creamy and cheesy! I will definitely be returning and trying their other items.
