Worst buffet , not one item had taste or flavor and some items were inedible. Never eating here again

A very clean place especially in the VIP room. Not bad for two if one of the party has a coupon. Salads were fresh and they had a good amount of offerings. Decided on Bleu Cheese dressing and put some Bleu cheese crumbs on. No crab legs on Saturday, sadly. They have various themed food offerings from Italian to Chinese. They also had so.e cut meat offered. I tried the spaghetti. Noodles were OK and wish there was more sauce. Best feature was the meatball. Good sized and tasted great. I ate light that night because I wasn't done gambling. Line moved pretty fast better than the Kirby. Nice place to eat if you want seconds. This buffet was not worth it, it was about the level of Golden Corral and on a Saturday night no crabs. The crab buffet is only served on Thursday nights and it's is $39.99! Not worth it. The wait is ridiculous after 7:00 PM, don't even try to eat there if you are starving. If you really want to try go at lunch. read more

We got into the snow crab legs and Atlantic lobster claws. It was $39.95 PP. Thursday's starting at 4 and long long lineups. Was worth the wait. Crab legs were smaller ones but still good. Rest of food was OK and desserts were very good. read more

If you like crappy cheap food in large quantities this is your spot. Brisket as dry ass popcorn fart. Grilled chicken was sour. Even the fried shrimp was as tough as cardboard. The desserts were ok but that's it's only redeeming value. This place sucks. read more

Pretty darn bad. I was there at 330 on a Sunday, but still! 2 stars for nice, attentive service. The food is a whole different story. Literally amazed at how bad it was. On one hand, this surprised me, but on the other hand I was expecting it based on the reviews. The orange chicken barely tasted orangey, and the majority of it was fried balls containing no chicken at all. The salmon was cold, but the flavor was fine. The fried shrimp was cold, the tilapia was cold, the teriyaki chicken was ok but didnt taste much like teriyaki. The potstickers things (the dumplings at the asian station, can't remember their name) were by far the best thing but some were cold. Couldn't bring myself to try the pizza, Italian, Mexican. It just looked like it had been sitting there for hours upon hours. Someone in the dessert station was wearing way way way *WAAAAYYYYYYY* Way too much cologne. Way too much. Tried a german chocolate ganache cheesecake for dessert. Not good. Definitely glad it was free, I would be very upset if I paid $19 for it. read more

We were here for a show and planned some time beforehand. Unfortunately we had been here in the past, so we thought we'd enjoy ourselves. While the layout has been upgraded, the food has not. No crab legs of any sort; cold shrimp limp and fried shrimp dry. Mexican foods (a staple in this area) were soggy and unflavored. Best things seem to be Pasta's and soups, which make this disappointing venue waaaaaay overpriced. Service was good which earns them one star. read more

The food really is very bad. The servers are decent, but no one seems to want to clean any of the tables, which is even more frustrating when you wait 2 hours to get in, and realize there were probably more than enough tables to quicken the pace. Oh my, where do I start. Best advice is to sign up for a Winstar Players Card, you will soon be getting free Buffett coupons to challenge oneself to eating and surviving this attempt of cooking. This buffet is like playing one of the slot machines, Best of Luck and most likely not gonna be a winner. With a free coupon, at best you'll break even. At the salad bar area, it's a race to get to the food before the flying insects do, although not as many as there used to be. I'm assuming they too realized the quality. Moving to the pizza, they make CiCi's pizza look great. I believe I've seen the same old slices from last month withering away under the tanning light. Not to go into lots more details of every station, but overall quality is at best a 2 out of 5, service 3-4 out of 5, price is 3 of 5 even being free. Meh. It wasn't TOO TOO bad, but it could have been better. I checked it out for both dinner AND breakfast, so let's break it down. Dinner was alright, but I feel we could have had better choices. I was looking forward to more seafood, but sadly, the only seafood they had there was fish and shrimp, both prepped a couple of ways. They did have meat carving, but that didn't seem too appealing either. The dessert area was pretty abundant, but since I'm not really a dessert person, it didn't really make an impression. Breakfast was a bit pricey for what you pay for. You get the usual - bread, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, etc... NOTHING great. And those sausages were SOOOOOOO salty (and this coming from someone who likes their food saltier than most people.) An omelet station would have been nice!!!! After dining here last night, I understand the mediocre reviews for this place. Despite that, we thought it was decent and will be back next time we are in town on a Saturday night for the AYCE King crab. It's on $24 per person with a club card and $29 (I think) without the card. For all you can eat crab (AYCE,) that's a pretty fair price. The crab itself was a little water logged, but was still good for the price. The shells weren't split and we had to ask for utensils, but it wasn't a big deal. The desserts were a little sloppy looking but tasted good. We really didn't try too much other food besides the crab but we enjoyed what we did have. It's wasn't to die for, but, like I said, we would go back on a Saturday for the crab. One thing that was a little striking was the large collection of flies. We stayed at the Winstar Casino and Hotel one weekend and ate at the in-house buffet, The Gran Via Buffet. Compared to other casinos of this size, the price was reasonable. The selection in the restaurant was incredible, especially the pastries/desserts. The buffet offered a lot of different cuisines. The Asian section offered at least 10 different dishes that included Vietnamese Pho. The grilled section had prime rib and skewered shrimps (my favorite) and many others. My granddaughter loved the banana split sundae that was made fresh in front of her. I would come back and eat here if I get the chance. Will make sure that I am starving because the cost, while reasonable, is still a pretty penny. read more

Fridays and Saturdays are king crab leg night-around $25 per person with players card discount ($5 off). You don't even need any points on your card like other places might. Impressed at first sight but when some "themes" aren't so great, there's less and less options. Asian section was not good. Do not get the pho, just save that for an actual viet restaurant. Mexican section was decent. Italian section looked like my elementary school cafeteria during pizza day.. But they did have a make your own pasta that we didn't get to try. King crab legs: one plate per trip and they portion how much you get. Dessert was good but I think Riverwind has them beat there. read more

I've eaten at many buffets in my life, & this 1 by far is thee absolute best. Slam dunk!! From the cashier, who informed us with our play from the players club, lunch was on them today! To the hostess, & our server who was complete delight. Taking care of refills without asking if you want 1 & clearing plates right away, is a win for me. The food tho... it is undeniably amazing!! I had a little of everything from each station, & nada 1 disappointed! And to cap it all off, Tirimisau for dessert If my pants were looser we would probably be here awhile... On Friday Feb 23, 2024 we went to the buffet at Winstar. We arrived around 10:25 pm. While we were dining, a woman named Ann Marie stopped me at the Asian section and asked, "You got the receipt?" I replied, "What receipt?" I've been dining here for about five years, and no one has ever asked me for a receipt before. Is it appropriate to approach a customer like that and ask for a receipt? She informed my husband that it's part of her job. She is the supervisor for the night shift, but does that mean she can do whatever she wants, or is her job to embarrass people, especially Asian women like myself? She asked me and then proceeded to ask my husband, but no one else around us. I paid for what I ate; I did not ask for anything free or dine without paying. It was an embarrassing situation for us, especially in public. We asked our server, whose name is Anakin Moore, what was happening with her. He apologized to us because he knew she was wrong. She should not have approached us like that in front of others. Most of the servers at the buffet restaurant know us because we treat them with respect and friendliness. We hope she learns from someone else soon about how to handle this situation properly. read more

I am here with my family and it was really expensive and not worth the money. The food is disgusting , the chicken smells like rotten sewer water and prime rib is very bloody. I asked them to cook it and he said "that's what we have right now" the only good thing is the variety of desserts but even that is very mid. THEY DO NOT SERVE CRAB LEGS OR SUSHI. They only serve crab legs on Thursday's,but what type of restaurant serves crab legs on Thursday's? It's around $40 per adult and $20 per kid which is VERY expensive for a crappy restaurant. The waiter was very nice but the rest of the people and servers were really depressed and rude. Even when Entering it smells like alcohol smoke and drunk people. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! BUT the ice-cream is really good and the ice-cream server was amazing! The cakes are good but not the best. It's safe to say Gordon Ramsay would NOT approve. 1/5 read more

The buffet is between the London and Asian section of the casino. If you enter the New York side, you will have to walk what seems like 0.3 miles to get to the buffet. I learned the hard way. :/ Long line to get into the buffet goes reasonably fast. About 75 ppl in front of me and only waited about 30 min before getting in. $22 without players card, $17 with. Nice staff and pretty/modern decor. I should have gotten there by 8pm latest instead of 9pm. :/ I would come back to try the crab legs and pho. Be ready to have a food baby when you leave!!! All You can Eat Crabs, Crabs, and More Crabs! Saturday Night and this was our Place. We've also been here for Sunday Brunch and it does not disappoint! Doesn't hurt that we were comped the Buffet and we've been comped a few nights at the Hotel as well! This for us is a getaway from DFW and the Gran Via Buffet is our favorite Restaurant in the entire Casino. Will return more times in the future I'm afraid. read more

There are such better options down the hall for quality meals worth the price. The place is relatively clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Several items overcooked. Most salad/raw items were good. Asian area was the best. Desserts overly sweet. Italian area was the worst. It cost more than $25 per person, and you can get good options nearby for that price. My hubby & I ate lunch here today & I really don't understand a lot of the other reviews. Line was short & was seated quickly. I had the BBQ ribs, sausage, Mac & cheese, peel & eat shrimp, orange chicken, fully loaded baked potato soup & salad bar. My hubby had prime rib, teriyaki chicken & a huge bowl of Pho. All were fresh, hot & flavorful. Also had creme brûlée for desert & peach cobbler with ice cream. Also service was excellent, very attentive at carving stations, for drink refills & clearing of plates to make room for next dishes we wanted to try. We would definitely go again, huge variety to choose from. I have eaten at plenty of buffets in Vegas, like Venetian, Bellagio, etc & thought Winstar did well to compete. read more
