Passing through this small town and the menu showed hand breaded chicken fried steak, just what we were in the mood for. We were seated promptly and greeted by our waitress, ordered and food came out pretty quickly. Portions seemed a bit small but seemed fresh. Bite #3 of my CFS and cream gravy was almost a game changer for our day and possibly the rest of my life. As I chewed, I noticed something in my mouth was not breaking down...spit it out and was like oh my gosh! My husband said it was some sort of finishing nail. Flagged the waitress who immediayely.left to get the manager. Manager apologized and asked if I wanted another order or something else? Really dude, you think I'm eating anything else from your kitchen? How does that happen? He said it must have somehow gotten in the fryer!?!?! It was embedded in the breading on the steak...that seems intentional because I don't know how that happens by accident. Before we left, a group of senior citizens came in and I sat wondering what if one of them or a child had received that order? What would have happened if I had swallowed? I will be reaching out to whatever organization in this small town is in charge of restaurant inspections and trying to find a contact for ownership. This was not bad food or a dirty utensil or an unclean restroom, this was a dangerous situation. We do our best to support small and local business ... I RARELY give a bad review... but this so disappointing! Got a babysitter for a date, and this was a sad dinner date. Not a single food item was enjoyable to consume. The chips & queso must be from a can. The cheese sticks' batter was so bland, the dipping ranch was good. The bacon wrapped steak- the bacon was raw almost all of the way through, and the (requested medium steak) was completely raw! Yikes. The food was hands down the worse food I've had at a restaurant in a WHILE! The service was good, the waitress, Abby, was great. The place seemed clean. Texas/cowboy theme was nailed. read more

Having previously eaten at Parker Brothers Traildust steakhouses in Lincoln Park and Sanger, I did not know what to expect. Past experiences were not always impressive. However, driving by, seeing the parking lot at this new location very full, I was interested in giving it a shot. I'm glad I did! My group was immediately greeted by staff, promptly sat at a table, and quickly served by great servers. The lunch special was a good value for a great cut of meat and today's climbing food prices. The location looks great! Tables and chairs were spaced appropriately and the fellow diners were not too loud. We will definitely return, especially since staff recommended their Friday lunch special, the "Rifleman," a ribeye cut steak. read more

We just tried the new Trail Dust In Lindsey Texas. I have memories of other locations and even though we had lunch instead of dinner it just wasn't the same. Just the feeling surrounding the place was kind of cold. The food had an different taste, not that it was bad but just a different spice I guess. They still had not acquired there liquor license at this time. Just a very quiet atmosphere, eat and run. Maybe when they get a few more months under there belt things will change. The chicken fried steak & chicken fried chicken are massive & mashed potatoes & fried okra are delish. Tried their margarita, excellent. Brooke was our server, she was excellent & friendly. I ate here today with my family and grandparents, but the food here it great. This is my third time and today I got mac and cheese and took some steak from my mom. The service is fast and always circling around at the right times. The atmosphere is great. Its is covered with items and pictures. My wife and I ate there last night. If there is an issue at a restaurant, I usually just shut up and eat. Last night, that's what I did, but for a near 110.00 with tip, I should has called the manager and walked out. First, the appetizer was burnt Then, my large ribeye was more like a cut of thin round steak. It definitely was not what you would expect a ribeye to look like. I've had thicker bacon. . The rest of the meal was mediocre at best. The whole meal reminded me of school cafeteria food. We will not be back. The waitress did a good job. That's the only reason for one star. read more

This was our second visit to this location. First visit was "OK". This visit----wife ordered a grilled chicken salad of some sort. House made dressing was awful according to the wife. She couldn't finish the salad. Not because of the volume, it was that bad. I had the California chicken sandwich. AWFUL..... bun was crispy and cold, had a flavor of burnt bread. chicken was charred, cold and dry, sauce was "different". Sandwich came with fries....fries were greasy, soggy and limp. Food was okay, service was great, thanks to Emily. We were just passing through on our travels.

On the plus side, service was good. Other than that, everything cooked was awful. Started with the fried pickles and hay stacks (fried jalapeño strips). They need to select fresh produce and wash it well before cooking. Then they need to change the dirty oil used to fry food. Our table ordered various steaks and hamburgers. None were cooked properly. Steaks were either overcooked or very undercooked. The hamburger was burned on the outside with a horrible charred flavor then get this, RAW on the inside. How do you even do that? The bun was burned also. All of the produce on the burger was not fresh nor washed properly. Management really needs to take a look at what's going on in the kitchen. Needless to say way overpriced for a horrible meal. Highly recommend skipping this place and going just 4 more miles down the road to Krootz. They have much better food. Heck McDonalds beats this place. read more

I'll give it a 3 because the drink were good. There were 6 people in our group. My mashed potatoes were more like bland potato soup. Our friend never got his salad so he finally asked for another side towards the end of the meal his steak was so undercooked it was still cold in the middle. Sent it back and it was still undercooked. My son got sick from his burger while still in the restaurant and had to run to the bathroom. And I do mean run. My husband steak was not the greatest steak he has ever eaten but he ate it anyway. But the drinks were good. Maybe the only thing good about it. Stopped in to grab a late lunch. Ordered the chicken fried steak lunch special w/mashed potatoes & corn. First, after being seated & taking my order a bit of time passed before my drink order arrived- just water. With my water was 2 pieces of Texas toast, which I have no clue why came out with the drink and not the meal? When meal arrived the first thing I noticed was the steak was a prepared frozen "steak". Next the corn had no seasoning or butter; appears to have been taken straight from the can, heated & spooned into the small side dish bowl. The highlight of the meal was the mashed potatoes as they were well seasoned with a definite addition of garlic. And of course by this time the toast was cold & slightly soggy. The meal didn't taste bad, but just very generic; something I would expect in a fast food restaurant, not a steakhouse. My expectation is any steakhouse serving a cfs, the steak should be hand battered, not pre-prepared frozen piece of beef product! My actual rating is probably 2.5-3 stars as I said the food wasn't bad, but b/c they claim to be a steakhouse I expect more than just mediocre food, especially frozen steak. So for that reason, I'm going with 2 stars. read more
