Filet Mignon, macaroni and cheese
Karen S.

Stayed the night here at the Winstar Casino over the Father's Day weekend. For my husband's Father's Day dinner I made reservations for the both of us to celebrate at Kirby's for dinner. We were seated promptly and our waitress showed up soon after to take our drink and dinner orders. I opted for the Cajun Chicken Pasta, and my husband ordered the Filet Mignon butterflied, and macaroni and cheese. With our dishes we chose the house salads. Our salads that were served first tasted very fresh. My pasta was delicious and came in a big bowl, enough for two people to easily share. My husband said his filet was nicely cooked and very tender and his macaroni and cheese was good. Overall it was a nice place to celebrate my husband being the wonderful husband and father that he is.

Welllpppp.... Sooooo, we waited half an hour for a two person table. On a Tuesday night. Okay, so my friend went to smoke a cigarette and I got called for our table. So they went ahead and seated me, I text my friend to come join me-our table was ready. She came in and joined me and told me that one of the guys at the front of the restaurant wasn't going to let her in because she had to go check in first. She told him that she was notified our table was ready. Again he told her she needed to wait for the person at the front to check her in. My friend went ahead and came to our table. That was strike one. We ordered. My unsweetened ice tea was disappointing. Tasted like 2 days old. When I told the waitress, she was telling me how she tasted it and it was fine. I said no no because if you tasted this tea you would have thrown it out. You didn't taste the unsweetened tea. You probably tasted the sweet tea!! I also told her that if they did just make the tea, then they are not cleaning their unsweetened container properly because Unsweet tea shouldn't taste "old". I drink unsweetened tea the most. It's my go to drink. This tea tasted old. Strike 2. My friends steak was not cooked medium well. The blood ran out all over her place when she cut thru it. She sent it back. The manager brought the fixed steak and it was properly cooked this time. But yes, that was stroke 3. Rolling your eyes and attitude is strike 4. Won't be back. We pay too much to be treated like this. Roll your eyes for some one else.

Good service, some food is excellent and some is marginal at best. The proteins were excellent. Here are the items we would order again: Filet Scalloped Potatoes Boursin Cheese appetizer Red Fish Salmon Cheesecake The house salad is boring--not even a crouton and 2 small grape tomatoes cut in half placed around the edge of the plate. It looked ridiculous. House dressing however was very good. They need to add something, like a Parmesan Tuile or at least some croutons. The pecan pie was horrible! Extra thick crust barely edible, a congealed thick globby interior hidden over a thin layer of finely chopped pecans, and much too large of a portion (about 7" around). We got it to go. Too bad because I would have sent it back in trade for the cheesecake. The lobster risotto was dull. Not much flavor at all. The tiniest piece of lobster claw I've ever seen, like it was an afterthought. Definitely not worth the $$. The onion soup was just okay, a bit too salty. The tomato bisque was so over peppered that it started burning my throat after the third spoonful. (And I like spicy food) All this to say I am not a fussy eater at all. But I had a higher expectation for a steakhouse and steakhouse prices.

Having a special dinner - birthday, anniversary, etc. ? There is no better place to celebrate than at Kirby's. Most people go to Winstar to gamble but - you gotta eat! And if the casino has been good to you - go to Kirby's. Amazing Steaks, great Seafood and lots of specialties. Tremendous wine list. Not cheap but a very memorable evening!

We loved almost everything we ate. The fish was amazing. It was so flaky. The creamed spinach was very tasty. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The only thing I didn't like was the string beans. They didn't taste as good an everything else. The restaurant is a very cozy fine dining establishment. The service is impeccable. Bailey was amazing!!!

Baked Boursin cheese with roasted garlic and toast points.

I'll start by stating that the reason I have given Kirby's is because my wife loved it. Me, not as much. We had the two for $99 off the menu special, that comes with an appetizer of choice, soup or salad, a 7oz. center cut filet with a baked potato and one shrimp Oscar. Our appetizer was baked Boursin cheese with roasted garlic and toast points. The toast and garlic were my favorite parts. Then I had tomato basil soup and my wife the salad. I didn't like the soup so I had the salad instead, which was good. We both ordered the steaks medium, butter only for my potato and all the toppings for her. The potatoes are huge and were perfectly baked. Annie loved her steak, I didn't. Found it to have too much salt. The shrimp were overcooked but I did like the seasoning so ate both without complaining to our server, about them or the steak. I was still hungry so had a creme brulee dessert, that was the best part of my meal. Our server, Breanne, was in training and did an excellent job. Would I ever return? Not very likely.

Superb dinner to celebrate the return of Mariah Carey Season. Wife and I had steaks and shared a salad. Salad was a spinach and papaya salad with chipotle cherry dressing...wicked good. She had a Mishima wagyu strip; I did the mesquite filet. Both were perfectly cooked and delish. You could cut the rare filet with a fork. Can't wait to go again! Jessica our server was wonderful!

Our friends from Florida joined us for a delicious dinner on Wed night We had reservations for 7:45, and were promptly seated by 7:55. You need to have reservations because they stay so busy. Other option is Mickey Mantle next door. Same menu, different vibes. We all decided to have different items. Appetizers x2 and then our entrees. They we're all so delicious. They got blackened scallops on a cedar plank, and we got toasted asparagus with Brené sauce and crab lumps. Three of the four decided on steak. And the other wanted fish. We didn't even need knives to cut our steaks. They were so tender and cooked to perfection. They were served with creamy risotto that would melt in your mouth. My Hubby and I decided to split a baked potato because they are so huge! We had a fantastic server, Bailey! She had been our server before, and it had always been very attentive to our needs. We love coming to Kirby's when we're in town. A must if you really want to enjoy an elegant dinner. Be prepared to pay for the ambience, great food, and wonderful service. we definitely will be back.

Stopped in for the evening and was easily able to get in. The atmosphere is definitely great if you're traveling with a loved one. Service exceptional, very attentive. The French soup was excellent.

The food was even more fantastic than it was before. We started with the buratta which was sooo good. I had the chicken with asparagus and she had the salmon on risotto. I am not normally one to eat salmon but I tried a bite of hers and it was amazing. The chicken was juicy and so good with the garlic sauce. For dessert we had the 3 flight with the lemon Bundt, crème brûlée, and chocolate tart. All three were unbelievable. We will be back many times.

I visited on a Saturday evening for an early dinner with my parents and sister. (Side note for Dallas residents: If you're familiar with the Katy Trail, it's worth the drive to see where it all began. When the Katy railroad tracks were removed in Dallas, the trail was born. While Denison doesn't have a trail today, the original depot remains, and it's a lovely place to explore.) The atmosphere at Stafford House is calm and refined, with deep burgundy tones, and brown leather accents lending it a warm, intimate feel. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. We started with the steak carpaccio appetizer, which was savory and full of flavor. For dinner, the ladies each had the Airline chicken with mushroom risotto, while my father and I ordered the lamb T-bones. I swapped the vegetable medley for sweet potato grits, which were decent but lacked any noticeable sweet potato flavor. Definitely put Stafford House on your must-visit list. It's a beautiful little spot for a quiet, intimate dinner. And don't miss their adjacent bar--it's equally charming and perfect for a pre- or post-dinner cocktai

The place is cozy and calm, perfect to relax and get away from your daily stress. The owner is super friendly and, when asked, told us about how they came to own the place and to start offering beer. The new beer is very approachable, nothing weird or overly challenging, just four traditional styles. A Honey Blonde, an ESB, a Stout, and an Irish Amber. If you're not into beer, they still have wine of course, which my wife opted for. She chose a Riesling, a Blackberry fruit wine, a Strawberry fruit wine, and a Sangria. All of them were really tasty. I liked that the fruit wines didn't have the artificial flavor some of them sometimes have. If you have alcohol, you probably should have a bit to eat and they offer that, too. My wife went with a butter board (a few different types of butter with their house-baked beer bread) and I with the beer board (beer cheese, two types of salami, pretzels, a beer bread roll, flatbread slices, pickles, mustard, and seasoned almonds). Both of them were excellent. My son got a BBQ chicken flatbread, which was also very good. So, overall a great place to hang out, relax, and enjoy yourself!
