Fried Pickles

One of the few dog friendly restaurants in the area and located on Main Street. Usually when we drive by it's very busy but today it wasn't very crowded. We sat at a picnic table and first complaint was it took awhile for our waiter to come. Like 15 minutes. Not sure why it was taking so long but we were debating leaving. Anyway when the waiter did come, the drinks and food came out pretty quickly so I guess it balanced itself out. We had our two small dogs and I believe it was the manager who came and brought them a big bowl of water and then later on when our food came they also got two nice strips of bacon! Very hospitable! The fried pickles were the best I've ever had and the strawberry crush drink was my favorite. Entree I got the pulled pork Mac and cheese and it was ok. The person I was with got the steak and she said it was tender but bland, and the sweetness of the caramelized onion was too overpowering. The truffle fries were also good. I would come again because it is a nice atmosphere and they are accepting of dogs.

Parking lot for the restaurant. Would suggest that you drop off your group at the entrance and have your friend park the car.

Ordered some takeout from Grain that always catches my eye with their witty slogans and signs as I drive down Main St in Newark. Ordering online the menu looked very appealing with so many options to choose from. My coworker and I opted to enjoy the fish and chips with the aioli on the side along with the burnt ends on a bed of seasoned spicy rice and corn. The order gave me a small window that could be done right at the mark or 10 minute later. Usually don't want the staff to feel rush I dropped by on the later side. The food was ready for pickup and heading back to my office. The fish and chips had plenty of chips but could have done with one more freshly fried fish. My coworker enjoyed the aioli that came with it but did think that a side of cole slaw would have balanced out the meal a little more. I tended to agree with the comment especially for the price point. The burnt ends with a peach jam was very flavorful while the rice had a creeping slow heat that my coworker enjoyed but couldn't have more than a bite or two. I mixed everything in together so that the sweet jam melded with the spicy rice and corn. All in all my dish was the better dish but I would hope so with the price I paid. Middle of the road review with one dish being good and the other dish being lackluster. We will be back for a dinner at the restaurant one night and look forward to seeing what the place is all about. From what we see on the signs out front we can only imagine a good time to be had.

Crab nachos + mozzarella chips

My boyfriend and I were visiting my sister. We had our dog with us so we were limited in dining options. Luckily Grain had a heated outdoor dining area. We started with the crab nachos and mozzarella chips. The nachos were really good. The mozzarella chips were ok but they would've been really good if they were seasoned more. I got a cheesesteak and subbed the chips for fries. My sister got a crab cake sandwich and also got fries and my boyfriend had the southern chicken sandwich with chips. My cheesesteak was ok but could've used a lot more seasoning. My sister liked her sandwich and my boyfriend said the chicken was good but the sandwich overall was just ok. Subbing fries is an extra $2.50 which is little steep but luckily they were tasty. My sister got a small side of bbq sauce for her fries and that was also $0.50 extra. I get the need to charge extra for things, but pricing seems a little high. Our server was really nice and the outdoor area was pretty warm. My sister mentioned that this place is pretty popular. If we weren't just visiting I'd give this place another try.

Absolutely love the outdoor seating area. The restaurant is dog-friendly too! We ordered some fried pickles, a breakfast platter and a crab cake sandwich. Food was pretty good and service was prompt and attentive. We like the fact that the restaurant is just before the busy part of Main Street of UD.

I was really excited about this place. The bar is a cool area to drink and while the food menu is large it's ehh. Goat cheese balls came out warm and not crunchy like typical ones I have had in other states. The bacon chicken sandwich was a good portion size for me but my husband was disappointed. The upcharge for a side other than chips was also disappointing.

Great food. Great service. I HIGHLY recommend the short rib grilled cheese! I'm fighting myself to go back today to get another one

Brisket sandwich

Food was just OK. The short rib grilled cheese sandwich was really dry - both the meat and the cheeses. The cheese choices weren't melty. Barely saw the grilled onions. Brisket sandwich was better. Cream of Chesapeake soup had good flavor - some shredded of crab - but very thin. Expected much thicker consistency. Service good.

Went here with my wife and daughter the night before orientation at UD. The location was proximate to both my hotel and the campus. Chris from Long Island took extremely good care of us. We ordered the fried pickles, fish and chips, lobster roll, and the avocado wrap. All were delicious. Outstanding votes for the lobster, pickles and sweet potato fries. Only minor critique was absence of tartar sauce for the fish, but Chris saved the day with the cilantro aoli. Beer selection was also top notch. My wife had a Brainkiller that transported her back to a Carribean vacation spot. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained. Missed seeing you, L.M.

Excellent foods & great service. Beautiful outdoor ambiance. A gorgeous night with beautiful people.

A great local spot! Huge beer menu with a detailed chart to help pick the right beer for you. Loved everything we ordered and we will definitely be back!

I need to give a moment of silence for the queso, it was soooo good! I could have had a massive bowl of that and been happy. It was amazing! The oysters were ok, but the pretzels and queso blew them away. Do order this if you try this restaurant. My husband ordered a a burger and fries. This was amazing. He let me try some, I was blown away. It was so good. I ordered a fish which was also amazing. The location is quaint and comfortable. It is a bright restaurant with a happy, busy bar. Our server was wonderful! She was prompt and so helpful. We will be back!

First time at a Two Stones Pub. Went with my partner…read more Thursday night the place was not too busy. I appreciate the happy Buddah statue decor near the entrance; it give the palce a unique and fun flare. The TVs around Us were showing video games and poker which was great for me since I don't really watch sports. They are also doing a food drive since I saw a box with cans in it. Not sure how long they're doing it though. As I took a look at the menu - at first glance it seems like a standard American bar menu with burgers, fries, nachos, salads, wings, and sandwhiches, but upon further reading I noticed the ingredience are a bit diffrent. This is where it really stands out. Subtle changes to some classic foods really shines at this place. Example: PeeBee & Jay Burger/Dirty Kettle Chips Overall we had a pleasant experience at this place and really feels like we could be regulars. Service is good, food is good, drinks, good, and portion sizes are excellent. (2) Alcoholic beverages, (1) appitizer, and (2) entrees. Bill came out to about $61. (Not including tip) Shout out to our server JASON. He was very attentive, we watched him keep that same energy with the other tables around us. Very honest and knowledgeable about the menu. Helped us pick items on the menu, gave us really accurate descriptions of the foods and drinks. Great personality energy and helpful, Drinks: beer and seasonal sangria (good) Food: Caribbean Sweet Potato Fries - We ordered a small, the portion size was great to share for twc people. The jerk sauce gives the fries a spicy kick to them which is a slow build up the more you eat. The salsa was great and really balanced out the spice, 1 appreciate the quality of mangos being just perfect (not too tarte or super sweet). Sweet potatos weren't very sweet but that was fine with me since I generally don't eat sweet potatos. These were propbably the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Fish Tacos with a side of garden salad with Herb Vinegrett dressing - Fish Tacos were good. the sauce was spicy, a lot spicier than I expected. Fish was well fried and good size. It didn't have a fishy taste to them so it felt fresh. The Herb Vinegrett dressing was sooooo goooood. I wish i had more of it. I can't even describe it other than it was so good. Chopped Santa Fe Salad with requested Jerked Chicken - Chicken was well cooked and juicy. Just the right amount of dressing and chicken. Ratio of sauce to salad was well balanced. Jerked chicken had its own flavor which added to the salad as a whole.Overall really good.

No pancakes, (unsfuffed) French toast, bagels with lox. Chairs are old and extremely uncomfortable. Place is loud even if a few people are there. It's literally hell. Horrible service. Waiter brought me 2/3 of a cup of warm coffee and asked if I wanted milk or cream and sugar instead of bringing them over. Had to wait five minutes for my eerily specific request for a certain number of creams and Splenda. No spoon or other way to mix the cream and sugar. I couldn't find a single thing on the menu that seemed even remotely close to palatable, so I ordered an English muffin, thinking I'd be safe. Wrong. It was doughy and soaked with butter. Should I have told them to hold the butter because I was a jelly guy? Who knows. I've never felt more like leaving a zero dollar tip than I did at Greenhouse Gastropub. Skip it.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

It's really a 3.5 but I'll give it the "round up" to 4 stars…read more First off: I spend 200 days a year in hotels, and (because of that) hotel bars and restaurants. Joel is one of THE BEST bartenders, anywhere, ever. I've been many places on extended stays and even after 4-5 visits, the same bartender has no clue who you are. Not Joel. Friendly, personable, remembered my name AND drink. Great bartender. He's 5 stars. Or more. Now: 5 meals in two weeks, three in the bar and two in the room. And full disclosure: former chef. And kind of a food snob/foodie. First one in the room: chicken Caesar and soup of the day (in this case, tomato Basil). Solid enough Caesar. Soup: something lumpy in it (sometimes you add Parmesan for a richness. It felt like it was that which was added and not puréed so it was lumpy and chewy. Decent flavor though). My big problem? You call me at my room, tell me my order is ready, I get back to the room and no plastic ware? Are they thinking I'm eating caesar and soup with my hands? Second meal, in the bar: crab cake sandwich and fries. Again, former chef (spoiler alert for non-chefs: "seasoning" means salt and pepper. Spice is everything else.) so the bland pepper/spice fries desperately need some salt even the menu says "seasoned fries". Ditto the crab cake. Not much flavor. Not horrible, just bland. Third meal, in the bar: burger (cow tipper) and fries. Same bland fries but my Pittsburgh rare burger? Tasty. And perfectly cooked. And juicy and damn! Well balanced and a toasty bun and just terrific all around. Fourth meal, in the bar: chicken Marsala. Terrific. Authentic. Sweet and saucy and perfect like a great Marsala. The mashed and broccolini were solid as well. Fifth meal, in my room: the crispy brussel sprouts and truffle fries. Fries are solid, probably topped with the same Parmesan I found in lumps in my soup the week before, and good dousing of truffle salt. Well thought out. The sprouts are hot, and well seasoned and delicious. But (didn't I learn to look in my bag???) I get back to my room (where they KNOW I am because they called me) and NO PLASTICWARE. I get (maybe) eating the fries with my fingers, but the sprouts? Overall: food/takeout service is a 2.5-3.5. Bartender Joel is a 5.0. So let's call it a 4.0 overall. And improve the takeout-and definitely keep Joel.

Disappointed. Charged $5 to go fee, even though limited work for restaurant. Even with fee, did…read morenot include basics like plasticware. Had uncharge to switch from upgraded fries included in menu item to plain old fries. Quite suprised. Food was on par with food court. Don't expect much.

On one hand I want to try again for dinner but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. Pros: Amazing service - very attentive server(s); we had one in training/shadowing and she was just as good as our primary server, offering refills, clearing plates, overall greet banter Cocktails are fantastic - had the Minnie Ripperton and loved it - creamy yet refreshing and bright which is a tough combo to achieve Cons: Hidden entrance - after circling what looked like an abandoned building 2x we finally figured out the entrance was in the backy and down a set of stairs. I now understand the "speakeasy vibe" but the clutter in the front made the building look abandoned or under construction; not a great start to the experience for us Food service - the other couple we were dining with got their entrees about 10 minutes before ours and we were some of the first orders & diners of the day. Usually you might hold the whole table or refire some of the dishes so it all comes out at the same time. They finished theirs before we even got our to start, making it a strange eating experience Small print menu - with the low light of the speakeasy, the menu had the teeeeniest print I've ever seen making it very difficult to read the menu options. We also didn't realize that the menu changes/is seasonal (not called out on the website) so many of the items we had wanted to try were not an available option. I love a menu that changes but hope it's indicated on the website (aka: sample menu, subject to seasonal change) Hit-n-miss: Fried chicken Benedict- huge portions, amazing biscuits and perfectly poached (but unseasoned?) eggs. I don't know if the hollandaise soaked into the fried chicken or never existed at all - and that's the thing you want with a Benedict. If it existed, it never reached the biscuits because while they were good, but were completely dry Shrimp and grits - perfectly cooked, great consistency, but very under-seasoned Water - just an observation and maybe it's just the local tap water flavor but it tasted off or as off the soap hadn't been washed from the glasses Pro Tip: be aware of the automatic gratuity in some circumstances; if you don't know, check the website before your meal!
