This was our Last Supper in Ireland. We were tired, longed for home, yet, wanted to experience to continue. The Maldron Hotel on Pearse Street in a mixed residential & urban renewal stretch didn't offer much other than the Grain & Grill. Our feet could have walked us elsewhere, but on our final night they (the feet) were saying enough sauntering the on hardened city trails.
Grain & Grill it was. And we were pleasantly surprised. Nice selection of cocktails and ales from the bar. The menu wisely offered a variety of choices for the variety of appetites that pass through. I ordered the Irish Grass-fed Beef burger with thick slices of bacon, cheese, lettuce, mushrooms, & tomato. With a BBQ sauce on the side, Oh(!), and chips. UK chips, gain nicely fried to a crisp snap and tender interior. The burger, served on a Kaiser bun with egg glazed top, was absolutely juicy. The second half of the burger became a cobbled pile on my platter to be cleaned up with "Me Pitch Fork." All accompanied with a Pint of Hop Project 13, IPA Lager; worth sampling when in Dublin. read more
