I've been to Grafted Cellars in Claremont a couple times with my girlfriends, and we always have such a great time, especially because of the fun menu items and events! Weekly Events: Grafted Cellars regularly hosts various events throughout the week, such as pictionary, paint nights, and trivia. My friends and I have come by to participate in trivia several times, and always leave looking forward to the next event. The trivia questions and categories are always well thought out and can be incredibly niche (which is a good thing, especially for trivia aficionados -- I can't count the number of times I've heard "What is the tallest mountain range in the world?" at other trivia sessions. It gets old.) Ambiance: The interior is so cute! There's a bit of a cozy cottage vibe going on, with the exposed beams and how intimate the space feels. Service: The servers are friendly and check in just the right amount -- enough to ensure that you get your drink/food orders in regularly, but not too much (to distract from the trivia at hand lol). Food/Drinks: Our go-to order is normally the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza, which is made fresh to order and comes to the table piping hot. Also, it seems that seasonally, Grafted Cellars comes up with some fun wine flights and pairings -- we especially enjoyed the Valentine's candy and Girl Scout cookie pairings. Such a nice way to have a little bit of whimsy while catching up with friends. Parking: Parking can be a little tricky, since there's only so much street parking shared amongst all the boutiques and restaurants that are concentrated in this area. But I find that I'm normally able to find something within a reasonable amount of time if I circle around the block a couple times. All in all, always a fun time! My friends' and my go-to spot for good wine, good conversation, and good trivia!

Great food and amazing service! The wine is yummy but Omar's lemon drops are the best in town!!!

Trivia: I was totally unaware of the grafting act with wines from Europe in America. According to their website, how long has grafting been happening to "solve a worldwide hardship in grape growing?" I've been to Claremont twice in my life. I've been to Grafted Cellars both times. On the first visit I made the mistake of leaving without a couple bottles of their wine. I didn't make that mistake the second time. I had delicious wines during both visits. The complimentary tasting flight (because my friend is a wine club member) was superb. The vegetarian charcuterie plate full of cheeses and breads and spreads perfectly complimented the wines. Highly recommend!

We visited for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed the wine, food and atmosphere. They were having a trivia night which we did not take part of, but it seemed like everyone was really enjoying the game and a lot of regulars. They have a wide variety of wines and helpful tasting notes you can look up with a QR code. We did a Groupon for two wine flights and a half charcuterie which was a great deal especially with it being our first visit. The half board charcuterie was a very generous portion. We also tried the hot honey pizza which was very fresh and delicious. They offer indoor, outdoor and bar seating. We will definitely be back to try some more food and wines.

Such a super cute wine spot! I have been here a couple of times and it never disappoints. The outdoor area is so nice, the lights make it feel cozy and intimate. Inside is a whole vibe too. It's the perfect place to chill, relax, and sip some wine. Definitely a great spot for a laid-back night out!

Loved the quaint warmth and welcoming service from the staff. Inviting and accommodating. Bar or low top seating areas inside or patio space. Cute shop for a wine down. Innovative beaker flights with controlled pour. While meandering around the downtown area this is a great stop to include. Street parking right in front or lot nearby with short walk.

First time visiting Grafted Cellars and we sat at the bar,we had such a great experience! The bartender Omar was welcoming, offered excellent food recommendations, and made amazing holiday drinks. Everything was flavorful, festive, and well crafted. We'll definitely be back!

We randomly discovered this place walking around Claremont Village. I have been to Claremont Village many times. And it was my first time spotting this hidden gem. It's such a cute spot. Perfect place to grab brunch and a drink with friends and catch up. There are indoor and outdoor sitting. But I would say outdoor was more lively. I only had couple of drinks here. I will come back for food next time. Also, the service was excellent. Friendly staffs!

Lovely establishment which holds the charm of old Claremont. Relaxing, mature, and friendly vibe with gorgeous indoor seating and peaceful dog friendly exterior patio. The wine selection and services, membership, and food are all fantastic and I wish this place continues to be a staple to Claremont for many years to come.

Great service, awesome wine list, and a tasty margherita with house sauce and chewy thin crust, loved it!

The food was average. The service was solid. I 4th star was for the wine selection. The selections were impressive and the server was knowledgeable.

We started with Shiso leaf & Ribeye bite, citrus salad with shaved Brie and mint, Potato leak soup, Organic Red carrots, celery root purée with chili oil, Filet mignonette for the main entree and to finish up with a special Halo Halo dessert. Each course was paired with special white or red wine from the packing house. Staff were so attentive and the foods were excellent. From the regular menus, ample selections and at a reasonable price. A friend I met many years ago at a wine tasting invited me to a Burgundy wine class at Packing House Wines, and I attended. The store is located up a few steps on the north side of the Claremont Packing House. Parking is usually not an issue as there is a big multi-level parking garage on the east side of the packing house. All attendees sat down to a list of wines to be tasted, a printed out copy of the slides being presented, a big burgundy wine glass for pours, water, and a nice little charcuterie plate. The owner Sal gave the presentation, and it was easily the best wine class I have ever attended. He talks pretty fast, but not too fast, and his delivery was excellent, providing an extensive amount of information that was easy to understand. We pretty much learned everything about Burgundy wines from the history of the region, the stringent production laws, different classes of Burgundy wines, and details about all of the different producers and regions we tasted wines from. The class was scheduled for two hours, but it ended up lasting for two and a half hours. It would have been easy to stay for much longer as the class and wines were very enjoyable. The wine class was a little pricey at $125 per person, but this was a bargain as Burgundy wines are expensive. We were able to taste ten 1.5 ounce pours including several Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines (one of them was $350/bottle). My favorites were the '17 Albert Bichot Fixin ($53.99) and the '20 Domaine Lecheneaut Vosne Romanee ($124.99) which I purchased. They have wine classes regularly, and I will definitely return if one catches my eye. They have quite a selection of wines for sale, as well as tasting flights and food from their kitchen.

We were first introduced to one another by the previous owners, Mary and Jim, during one of their events--little did we know those introductions would grow into lifelong friendships. Over the years, our Wednesday Wine Nights became a tradition we all cherished. When we learned that the shop was going up for sale, we were understandably nervous. We wondered what would happen if it didn't sell--where would we go? And if it did sell, what if the new owners changed the shop in ways we didn't love? What if we didn't connect with them the way we had with Mary and Jim, who had become family to us? Then it happened, the shop sold. We were introduced to Maria and Veronica, and it was truly love at first meeting. They are two of the kindest, most welcoming women, and they have brought fresh ideas and wonderful energy to the shop. Our Wednesday Wine Nights continue today, and we are grateful to have gained new friends in Maria, Veronica, and their families, who help run this warm, family-operated business. The Third Street Wine Shop remains a place where you are welcomed the moment you walk in--where the owners make you feel like you're their only guests. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a tasting, a glass, or a bottle of exceptional wine, paired with one of their beautiful charcuterie boards or other delicious snacks. And for those who prefer beer, they offer a great selection of local craft options as well. We hope to see you there soon!

We were accommodated readily and had no wait time as a phone call a few days ahead had been made and remembered. Even though reservations are not taken, they were set up for us and ready to get the dinner party started. This is wonderfully thoughtful service. Once in, our waitress explained that she could do partial group checks for four. That was also a thoughtful way to handle a larger group. It would have been awkward for us to split all of the variety of items on the receipt amongst us, being that we ordered so many different dishes. And wow! Did we order a lot of dishes! That's part of the fun of coming to Viva Madrid: there's such a wide variety of tapas and/or entrees to share. The more we tried, the more we wanted to continue to try! From the pitchers of both red and white sangrias, tapas, entrées, and desserts, we really made our way around the menu. Our delectable dishes came out little by little. And that's rather important here, as those small plates have a sneaky way of filling you up, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. The pacing gave us an opportunity to enjoy each dish at a leisurely pace, while we chatted, laughed, and in general, got to enjoy the night in an unhurried and relaxed environment. Our plates were delicious! Such a variety of unique flavors that you wouldn't find in another kind of dining experience. Creamy, salty, aged, rich, spiced but not spicy, meaty, veggie, sautéed, simmered, roasted..... there's something here for every palate. Be open to the adventure! Our waitress and other staff that checked in on us were fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable - incredibly talented at keeping all the numbers and dishes straight - and attentive to each guest. Which again, is appreciated when part of a larger group. When you come here, be prepared to spend some time. Bring someone whose company you enjoy, then sit back, relax in the ambience of Spain, and be taken care of as if you'd been invited to dine in someone's home.

We explained that we also had a reservation, were still eating, and were waiting on dessert. Instead of handling the situation professionally, her approach came off with an attitude and as though we were an inconvenience for not wanting to move in the middle of our meal. As a manager, professionalism and customer service matter, especially when guests are celebrating special occasions. Better reservation management could have prevented this situation entirely. We sat outside and the ambiance (both inside and outside) were nice. The outside was definitely a lot quieter than inside, and the server next to us even offered to turn on the heaters (though not needed). I enjoyed being outside. We started off with appetizers which included grilled octopus and oysters. Although, even though they were on ice, the oysters weren't cold enough for me. Still, we downed them with the fresh horseradish and cocktail sauce and just prayed about it later lol. My family liked the grill octopus. It was tender and had a very smokey char flavor but if I'm being honest, it was not MY favorite so I probably would not personally order again. Even my mom said she thought it was "just alright." I ordered the Branzino and it lacked in flavor. I was not a fan of the green sauce it had on the side. It was not completely terrible, but not great either. It was cooked well and crispy, but that's all I can say for it as even Tabasco didn't make it great. The best thing of the night was probably the lamb chops and the cheese ravioli. They were both cooked well & tasted great so if I were to come back Id stick to pasta and that. The lychee mocktails & their ricotta cheesecake were probably my favorite things on the menu. The tart was decent. Our waiter was slow at times and kept either forgetting certain drinks or what we asked of him or the kitchen was just slower than usual. I'm not sure which, but service wasn't on par with the price point in my opinion. Luckily we were pretty relaxed, but my mom had finished her food by the time her wine arrived. Overall, it was an ok night. My family at least had fun and enjoyed their time there. The food was presented nicely, and service was OK as a whole but I'm not sure I'd come back on my own accord again. Definitely nice to say I've visited & tried it out at least once though!

Went to this cute little place today in Claremont because we were specifically looking for a…read morewoodfired pizza. They've got indoor and outdoor seating and they seemed a touch understaffed for being a beautiful day. It was also a Tuesday lunchtime so maybe they weren't expecting it to be as busy as it was. We were able to prove the menu before we got seated. And our super friendly server came out and we were able to order right away. They've got a lunch special. That is a small personal pizza with a salad and we each got that. Salads came out first and I had the arugula salad, which was absolutely phenomenal. 10 of 10 would eat this every single day. The arugula was peppery and it was well dressed in a lemon vinaigrette type sauce. I am a fan of just plain lemon on mine, but this was delicious. My husband got a union salad, which is their specialty I guess. It's got colored carrots and some beets and some shallots. I thought the dressing was bland and it certainly needed salt and pepper. We asked for both and didn't get either. Our pieces came out and they were nice and woodfired. I feel like they could've been done just a little bit longer maybe a minute or two. The sauce was a lovely fresh type crushed tomato sauce. The cheese was nice and gooey and did not feel or taste like a package of processed cheese. Pepperonis were greasy, but in a real meat kind of way. I had to dab mine, but my husband just went to town on his. The pickled peppers is a pickled jalapeño. Big chunks of them. They certainly didn't skimp on any of the toppings. They were a little sweet and a little hot. Some of the big chunks were a little too sweet for my liking but overall, it was a nice flavor mix Also from a size standpoint, I thought the salad and pizza were very adequate for lunch at around $20 price point I asked for salt and pepper again as well as a side of ranch. This time we did get the salt and pepper as well as cheese and crushed red pepper. But we didn't get the ranch until we were leaving. The server did apologize and said he thought someone else was bringing it out but I pretty much deducted a star because we asked for a couple different things that never came. Overall, the service was super friendly, the ambience was nice for an outdoor lunch thought. I thought the menu looked delicious and there were several things I would like to come back and try and I would go back again.

We decided to try brunch on a Saturday morning. Long story short,…read more I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. At $38ish, I expected a great meal. It was so underwhelming. 2 eggs cooked differently, one over hard, one over easy, 5-6 potato pieces and the steak was thin, overcooked, and appeared to be a cheap cut of meat. A New York cut would have been great. Wife mentioned norms has better steak and eggs. Called and spoke with a manager Stephanie, not looking for anything, but to express disappointment in the meal for the high price. She offered to mail a gift card for us and invited us back. Took all of my information and never received it. Thanks anyway. Don't think we'll be back.
