I love their paella and and Rabo here! Beautiful and cozy interior great for a date spot. Reasonably priced and good portions for sharing! Super excited to take my friends here.

4.5 but I'll round up. My husband and I wanted to try something different for date night and stopped by. Staff was welcoming and explained the process on ordering. Food started coming out promptly and we really enjoyed the experience and our dinner. We had the chicken empanada, bacon wrapped dates, a few meat dishes, everything was super yummy. We will definitely be back!

Viva Madrid! is our favorite spot in Claremont. The food and drinks are delicious, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the ambiance is fun and relaxing. We love to order the meat paella which is scrumptious! The garlic shrimp, chicken empanadas and dates are our favorites. If you're in the area you've got to check our Viva!

Came to Viva Madrid for my birthday meal. Food was better than expected. We orders various tapas such as bacon wrapped dates, Garlic bread , garlic shrimp , jamón con melón , and empanada de pollo which were all good. As an entree we shared the costilla de cordero ( lamb ribs) which came with potatoes, asparagus , and baked dates which tasted amazing . For dessert I recommend the crema catalana which is similar to a creme brûlée and very good as well.Be aware the restaurant is kinda small and gets easily packed . I will definitely be returning .

I finally made it to Viva Madrid. I have to say the waitress provided excellent service. I ordered me a mocktail because I was driving. I got the Refresco de Lavanda. It was tasty but the only issue was the glass was full to the rim with ice. I got about 4 oz of drink in a 12 oz glass, kinda disappointed. I started with a light tapas which consisted of manchego cheese and olives. A light snack before my meal. For my entree, I ordered the rib eye, but they call it the Bistec con Salsa Rioja. A big juicy piece of meat smothered in a wine reduction sauce. It was tasty and came with green beans and a baked potato topped with a creamy herb dressing. Very satisfying. The ambiance was perfect for a date night, small, dark, and dressed up with traditional Spanish ornaments. I'd like to come back and try some of more tapas as they have an extensive tapas menu.

Sometimes in life things get f*cked up. What matters is how you react when things get f*cked up. Viva Madrid! came highly recommended and I get why. The menu is pretty large with tons of great tapas options. We tried several of these and everything was delicious. Some of my favorites were Esparragos Con Jamon and Champinoes Rellenos. The food was fresh, everything was great. The service was also great. I think the gentleman who helped us was named Jared. He was kicking booty on a busy night making drinks and serving food. He also showed a real passion for the menu and took the time to explain various items. The ambiance of the place reminds me of Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean. It's a very fun vibe. So what went wrong? The paella was overcooked. I tried my best to eat it, but it was not edible. When I explained they were very understanding and apologetic. I assume the owner even came over and apologized and thanked us for not yelling. Look it was a bummer the paella was messed up but sometimes things don't go right. They made it right and getting angry on my end does no good. An interesting first experience at this establishment but that won't stop me from returning one day. Everything but the paella was great, staff is awesome and it's a cool vibe.

Spanish vibes all around, large menu, delicious Sangria, top notch service! "see pictures" everything we ordered was delicious, but our mistake that we made was ordering everything at once, make sure you order the tapas slowly and take your time. Highly recommended!

Visiting Claremont and decided to check out this place, reminiscing my time in Madrid. Only had tapas, which were so good. My favorite were the Boquerones Viva Madrid and Pintxo Moruno! Thanks Melanie for your help and amazing attitude:)

I haven't been here in 10 years and it's still as wonderful as I remember. They don't take reservations, so we waited for about 20 minutes during a weekend night. It has a huge menu, a great place to share tapas and trying various dishes! It's located in Claremont Village near a bunch of other restaurants and boutiques . We found free parking on the streets right across so it was pretty convenient. RABO DE TORO - Oxtail stew- I don't usually order soup but this was very comforting, hearty, and delicious 9/10 GAMBAS A LA PLANCHA- delicious jumbo garlic shrimp 9/10 CALAMARES EN SU TINTA- squid ink calamares with tomatoes- best sauce and reminded me of pasta 10/10 PAN CON TOMATE- artisan sourdough with tomato chutney- just ok , i wanted to dip bread in the other dishes sauces, but I didn't care for the chutney taste from this bread 5/10 EL ORO- Irish whiskey with house ginger drink - recommended as most popular and it was delicious . They're also known for their sangrias but I tried this drink . 10/10 Can't wait to come back to try the other tapas!

Came here for my daughters 24th day. Place did not disappoint. We all shared Samgria. The cheese, the potatoes, the paella, octopus, and calamari was outstanding. The ambiance of the place is really a vibe. The only thing is don't sit next to kitchen it gets hot. I recommend !

The moment you enter your transported to a beautiful Spanish village with Spanish music. The service is impeccable and the food is incredible. Recommend coming early as they fill up quickly and don't take reservations. A must for tapas lovers.

Viva Madrid is probably one of my favorite spots in Claremont. When we arrived today, there was already a line forming and still 10 minutes until Viva Madrid opened. The space inside the restaurant is fairly small, definitely would avoid bringing larger parties. There's always music going and soft lighting, it has a very laid back atmosphere. We've always had great service here. Our server was pretty on it, even while manning the bar and helping g tables at the same time. The food also may take a bit longer to come out depending on what you order, but it's kind of nice not rushing through the meal. As for the food, we haven't tried anything we didn't like! Our favorite tapas would have to be the Chorizo A La Rioja, Gambas Gabardinas, and Esparragos Con Jamon. But there's still a lot of the menu we haven't explored. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Because of that, I booked outside seating on OpenTable for Cinco de Mayo for drinks at 6:30 for 4 of us. We arrived at 6:25. We were notified that they were running behind, but still were not seated at 7... we were told there was no outdoor seatings coming up in the near future but they could honor our reservation shortly at an indoor table... but unfortunately it was club-decibel live music for the holiday so we went elsewhere. It was my first visit here but it won't be my last. I had already did my browsing of what's on the menu. I joined in on the crispy tofu for the appetizer and the crispy salmon skin salad. When we walked in it was busy. The Dodger game was on at the bar. There were maybe three open tables at most. We were seated at their small table against the wall. A cozy table for two. We were greeted by our friendly server, she brought the menus and ask us about drinks to start. I've water all around, haha. She came back with our water. Ooh, tasted like cucumber water... Refreshing. While my lady was deciding, I ordered: crispy tofu appetizer (presented in a small dish, about 10-12 pieces of hot, crispy cubes of golden tofu with a dipping sauce) and the salmon skin salad for my entree. The salad was an ample sized serving to share between the two of us. The salmon skin was julienned and were crispy little clumps like miniature fishy hash browns. Very crispy and tasty salad that included sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and scallions on mixed greens. My date ordered the charshu ramen. We shared our plates. The ramen was very tasty. The noodles had a good chew, not over cooked. Mmm, that was delicious. The robotic server was kitchy and cute. Maybe it does assist them with delivering plates to the table but the human server was observed transferring them from the bot to the table. For our table, we had our food delivered in stages not at the same time. The crispy tofu arrived first, then the ramen, and several minutes later came the salmon skin salad. Not a deal breaker but noticed. Food was good. Service was okay, could be better.

A friend I met many years ago at a wine tasting invited me to a Burgundy wine class at Packing House Wines, and I attended. The store is located up a few steps on the north side of the Claremont Packing House. Parking is usually not an issue as there is a big multi-level parking garage on the east side of the packing house. All attendees sat down to a list of wines to be tasted, a printed out copy of the slides being presented, a big burgundy wine glass for pours, water, and a nice little charcuterie plate. The owner Sal gave the presentation, and it was easily the best wine class I have ever attended. He talks pretty fast, but not too fast, and his delivery was excellent, providing an extensive amount of information that was easy to understand. We pretty much learned everything about Burgundy wines from the history of the region, the stringent production laws, different classes of Burgundy wines, and details about all of the different producers and regions we tasted wines from. The class was scheduled for two hours, but it ended up lasting for two and a half hours. It would have been easy to stay for much longer as the class and wines were very enjoyable. The wine class was a little pricey at $125 per person, but this was a bargain as Burgundy wines are expensive. We were able to taste ten 1.5 ounce pours including several Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines (one of them was $350/bottle). My favorites were the '17 Albert Bichot Fixin ($53.99) and the '20 Domaine Lecheneaut Vosne Romanee ($124.99) which I purchased. They have wine classes regularly, and I will definitely return if one catches my eye. They have quite a selection of wines for sale, as well as tasting flights and food from their kitchen.

Thankfully, the food we did receive was amazing and we were still enjoying our evening while waiting for birthday dessert. What completely changed the experience was when the manager, Destiny, approached our table and told us we needed to move to accommodate another party. We explained that we also had a reservation, were still eating, and were waiting on dessert. Instead of handling the situation professionally, her approach came off with an attitude and as though we were an inconvenience for not wanting to move in the middle of our meal. As a manager, professionalism and customer service matter, especially when guests are celebrating special occasions. Better reservation management could have prevented this situation entirely. Even other guests nearby seemed shocked by what was happening. Roger ended up apologizing on her behalf, even though he was not the issue. He truly did his best to save the experience, while the manager never came back to apologize herself. The food and our waiter were excellent, but the management experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

That is a small personal pizza with a salad and we each got that. Salads came out first and I had the arugula salad, which was absolutely phenomenal. 10 of 10 would eat this every single day. The arugula was peppery and it was well dressed in a lemon vinaigrette type sauce. I am a fan of just plain lemon on mine, but this was delicious. My husband got a union salad, which is their specialty I guess. It's got colored carrots and some beets and some shallots. I thought the dressing was bland and it certainly needed salt and pepper. We asked for both and didn't get either. Our pieces came out and they were nice and woodfired. I feel like they could've been done just a little bit longer maybe a minute or two. The sauce was a lovely fresh type crushed tomato sauce. The cheese was nice and gooey and did not feel or taste like a package of processed cheese. Pepperonis were greasy, but in a real meat kind of way. I had to dab mine, but my husband just went to town on his. The pickled peppers is a pickled jalapeño. Big chunks of them. They certainly didn't skimp on any of the toppings. They were a little sweet and a little hot. Some of the big chunks were a little too sweet for my liking but overall, it was a nice flavor mix Also from a size standpoint, I thought the salad and pizza were very adequate for lunch at around $20 price point I asked for salt and pepper again as well as a side of ranch. This time we did get the salt and pepper as well as cheese and crushed red pepper. But we didn't get the ranch until we were leaving. The server did apologize and said he thought someone else was bringing it out but I pretty much deducted a star because we asked for a couple different things that never came. Overall, the service was super friendly, the ambience was nice for an outdoor lunch thought. I thought the menu looked delicious and there were several things I would like to come back and try and I would go back again.

We decided to try brunch on a Saturday morning. Long story short,…read more I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. At $38ish, I expected a great meal. It was so underwhelming. 2 eggs cooked differently, one over hard, one over easy, 5-6 potato pieces and the steak was thin, overcooked, and appeared to be a cheap cut of meat. A New York cut would have been great. Wife mentioned norms has better steak and eggs. Called and spoke with a manager Stephanie, not looking for anything, but to express disappointment in the meal for the high price. She offered to mail a gift card for us and invited us back. Took all of my information and never received it. Thanks anyway. Don't think we'll be back.

been going there for 15 years me and my family and always have a great experience, food y great ,…read moreservice is very good, and ambience y great,

We went here for mother's day. It was my first time here. It is definitely a pricier establishment…read moreso I was looking forward to finally trying it out. We sat outside and the ambiance (both inside and outside) were nice. The outside was definitely a lot quieter than inside, and the server next to us even offered to turn on the heaters (though not needed). I enjoyed being outside. We started off with appetizers which included grilled octopus and oysters. Although, even though they were on ice, the oysters weren't cold enough for me. Still, we downed them with the fresh horseradish and cocktail sauce and just prayed about it later lol. My family liked the grill octopus. It was tender and had a very smokey char flavor but if I'm being honest, it was not MY favorite so I probably would not personally order again. Even my mom said she thought it was "just alright." I ordered the Branzino and it lacked in flavor. I was not a fan of the green sauce it had on the side. It was not completely terrible, but not great either. It was cooked well and crispy, but that's all I can say for it as even Tabasco didn't make it great. The best thing of the night was probably the lamb chops and the cheese ravioli. They were both cooked well & tasted great so if I were to come back Id stick to pasta and that. The lychee mocktails & their ricotta cheesecake were probably my favorite things on the menu. The tart was decent. Our waiter was slow at times and kept either forgetting certain drinks or what we asked of him or the kitchen was just slower than usual. I'm not sure which, but service wasn't on par with the price point in my opinion. Luckily we were pretty relaxed, but my mom had finished her food by the time her wine arrived. Overall, it was an ok night. My family at least had fun and enjoyed their time there. The food was presented nicely, and service was OK as a whole but I'm not sure I'd come back on my own accord again. Definitely nice to say I've visited & tried it out at least once though!
