When is Graeters disappoint? Never. This location, like many others, serves the delicious ice cream that it is famous for. I love the black raspberry chip, and, when seasonally available, the blueberry pie. This location has a good amount of seating, lots of baked goods (including samples), and lots of space. Parking is easy as well, which isn't true for all locations. If you haven't tried this ice cream, you should plan to check it out. read more

When reviewing a place like Graeter's it is difficult because everyone just LOVES the ice cream, it is a well known brand and what can you really say that hasn't been said before? When I review establishments like this I tend to think about the overall experience, or how a particular location compares to others. This location seemed to be primarily serving the two or three hotels in the vicinity. I know that mainly because we were right next door at the Hyatt Place, and I recognized several other families that were at the pool the same afternoon. I believe there was a dance competition in the area from the looks of things. We happened to arrive at a peak time, because the line was all the way to the door. The line moved rather slowly at first but eventually the kids behind the counter seemed to hit their stride and get through the hungry customers. My only complaint is that there didn't seem to be a system for taking orders and paying. Other locations have an "enter here, pay there" setup. This was more a big mash of people trying to figure out who was available to take the next customer, where do I pay, etc. Overall not terrible, but not as efficient as other Graeters I have been to in the past. read more

Misleading social media. They posted on Facebook on July 16th to come in July 17 for National Ice Cream Day to get a scoop of $1.52 ice cream. We went into the Mason location excited for the National Ice Cream Day discount only to be told that the discount actually could occur any day this month and will appear in your app on a random day. This was not stated on the post. We had even confirmed with the employee before ordering that they were running the $1.52 special today and he said yes but it was for only cones and not bowls so we switched our order to cones. I would not have gone in this morning had their social media post been more clear but I guess they succeeded in driving more sales today with that tactic. I even showed them the post on Facebook and they seemed to understand why it was misleading but shrugged and didn't offer to make it right. read more

Simply put: the ice cream was great. I got a scoop of the Birthday Cake and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip ice creams. Both scoops nailed the flavors and the chocolate in the PB was very good and I am not the biggest fan of chocolate in ice cream. Graeter's is the only commercial ice cream producer, in the world, that still makes all of their ice cream in small batches (by hand) in two-gallon French pots. Warm cocoa is slowly added to the mixture as it freezes on the side of the pan, and then scraped off into the milk. Rah, the joy of seeing my friend's little girl find the surprise of a large chunk of chocolate at the bottom of her cup. They've been in business since 1870, and if you like history, check out their website which has lots of stories about their bygone years, including pictures of their antique scoop collection. Bourbon pecan chocolate chip ice cream. I could stop my review right there and you would probably have everything you needed to know. It was creamy, nutty, chocolately, everything you could possibly want in ice cream. And I can't explain it, but Graeters chocolate chips don't freeze solid and hard like other brands. They are still soft when they scoop it. Which doesn't make any scientific sense, but is awesome! I got mine in a waffle cone, which was delicious. Now, as awesome as this was, there WERE some things that I would change, though my 5 star review stands. 1. My waffle cone was wrapped in paper. This paper appeared to be glued together at the seams. Well, this glue seemed to have seeped through the seams, rendering the bottom inch and a half of my waffle cone inedible, because I wasn't willing to ingest glue and paper residue. 2. I wanted to be able to buy the chocolate chips they use in their ice cream separately to take home with me. They sold other kinds of chocolates, but not the particular kind of chocolate chips that they put IN their ice cream. read more
