In my opinion, Aglamesis still has the best ice cream in the area. Small batch, rich in flavor, tastes like tasty homemade ice cream. Full of rich cream and natural ingredients. We stopped at their Montgomery store on a hot August evening and the ice cream was delicious and refreshing. The banana ice cream is rich in flavor and the mocha chip was reminiscent of a frozen sweet coffee. They also offer chocolates and other candies. We tried a bourbon ball - it was covered in a rich dark chocolate and the center was a bourbon flavored cream. The store has an old fashioned ice cream parlor atmosphere, complete with marble tables and pink accents. The service is always pleasant. They offer table service if dining in. read more

We adore Aglamesis but did not know this location existed. And it turns out it's been there since the 70s! If you like the vintage feel and decor at the original location you will love the intentional touches that they made to make this location feel the same. And of course, the ice cream and chocolate can't be beat. The server was incredibly kind and good with our baby. And there was a little library and games we could try out! A 10/10 experience tucked away off of Montgomery Road. read more

I'd never been to a sit-down ice cream shop before, so this was a fun first experience! The ice cream was delicious, and the service was quick despite how busy it was. My only suggestion would be to spread out the dining area a bit more, as it felt a little cramped during our visit. Overall, I'd definitely come back! read more

Went to Aglamesis Brothers based on a Google recommendation to celebrate World Chocolate Day (7/7/2026) and purchase the Sincere Chocolate Box Bundle ($20) with the $10 bonus gift card. The helper said he did not know about this offer and called the store owner. The owner said not offering anything for World Chocolate Day. It is a shame you listed as an offer (per Google) but when a customer (who happens to be visiting from Georgia) comes to your establishment specifically for this item is told no this is offer will not be provided. Terrible business and a complete LIE! I hope this wasn't based on race????? read more

If you haven't tried their coffee icecream you are missing one of the best. The staff is always so friendly they even know my order my dog loves his pup cup from here. The service is always super and the ambience is very unique for an icecream parlor. Go try you will forget greaters and Jenny atleast for coffee flavor for sure . I scream for this place read more

I've heard a lot about this spot and I was excited to try it. With that being said, it was not worth the hype. The ice cream was good, but it did nothing to separate itself from other elite chains. The service was friendly and quick, and the store was interesting. The ice cream just didn't match my hype going in read more

Aglamesis Brothers - Banana Chocolate Chip/Creme 'n Cookies - Chocolatiers & Shops Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Ice cream is no better than what I can purchase at Kroger. I was hoping to purchase candy boxes to put in 'welcome to Cincinnati' gift bags. After trying several pieces of candy I decided not to buy the boxes. The coating was waxy. The filling did not have a distinct flavor. I wanted to love it, but I couldn't. Ended up buying candy assortment boxes at Grater's. Service was fine and shop is cute. read more

The assorted chocolate is my favorite thing here. I love to get a small variety for gifts. They always wrap it so cute!

My mom loved this place and on her anniversary we went and celebrated her. I know now why she loved this place. Best ice cream ever and they have chocolates and candies. It's a dream. The atmosphere is old ice cream parlor. The tables are antique. read more

I know Graeter's gets the most local love. But don't sleep on this jewel. I love the Montgomery location. The sorbets are fresh and fruity. The nectar phosphate is also better than Graeter's. They have delicious hand made candy too. Do yourself a favor and give them a shot. You definitely won't be disappointed. Also ,the decor is really lovely like an old 50s ice cream parlor. The wait staff is also super friendly. read more

Sofie our waitress was AMAZING!!! She went above and beyond to make our first visit memorable. She offered to let us try flavors before we made our final decisions. Such a cute little local ice cream shop. It has an old school parlor-style vibe where you can dine in and eat your ice cream out of silver bowls. This makes it great for a little date night spot. The ice cream is reliably good, but could be a bit creamier. I think the best thing is that you can get a pint of any flavor packed for you on the spot if you want. If there's a certain flavor you really like then this is a great option. read more

Aglamesis has the best ice cream and confections in Cincinnati. These are fighting words but you need to try it for yourself. I've been a customer for over 20 years and they make flavors that my grandmother and parents had in their youth. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and I consider them as family at every birthday or holiday celebration. read more

Cincinnati's best ice cream! Best quality ingredients, certainly the chocolate, especially since the other big name and highest priced competitor changed their chocolate to a slimy sticky more bitter and smaller chip. It's chip's fault. But Aglamesis is using the same great ingredients their forefathers used and thus the flavors and textures are as delight as ever. read more

This may or may not be my favorite hard ice cream in Cincy. Yep, I said it. Gauntlet thrown. Set back off the main road in Montgomery this is a quaint and nostalgic location. It has the great vibes of an old time soda fountain shop. There are tables inside for eating, and benches outside. My go to flavor, always, is the Banana Chip on a sugar cone. This ice cream is the real deal, because I would not be accepting any fake banana flavor. I really like that the chip pieces are small, as opposed to large chunks. The base is creamy and indulgent. I know I should really try some other flavors, but when you find something you love, its hard to switch. There are many options for flavors, sundaes and even a take home case. Do yourself a favor and give this small local place a try! read more

We stopped in for some sweet treats after lunch recently. Both of us have been here numerous times since childhood and I've always left this place happy. It's so cute inside! Cheerful and pink with little bistro table & chairs. I'm a fan of their Dark Chocolate Non-pereils and had to get the last tiny bit they had left. My husband picked up some Dark Chocolate Malted Milk Balls and two pints of ice cream to go. read more

Now, when you go to Cincinnati, you want to get ice cream because we've all been to Graeters. However, there wasn't a Graeters close by. That's how we stumbled upon Agalmesis Brothers ice cream shop. Now the part that struck me the most was history! This place has been around since 1908. They've got the history shared on the walls. You see the history in the space with the way the ice cream dishes are set up and the way you order. It is absolutely gorgeous. It adds to the beauty of the ice cream. We got the fruit salad sundae. The sundae was incredible with creamy vanilla ice cream with different syrups and a banana. My mouth is watering thinking of the space. This was the ice cream I wish I could find more often! read more

First time at this location, but it was excellent. It looks almost identical to the one in Oakley. The workers were really helpful and patient, giving us extra bowls and spoons, letting our kids sample, etc. As usual, I had to get the strawberry whipped cream. Usually, I pair it with strawberry ice cream. They were out, so went with the raspberry chocolate chip. Not quite as good as strawberry, but not too shabby either. Overall, highly recommend. read more

I love Aglamesis ice cream. The staff was very nice and patient. I love the Swiss sundae with the flavored whipped cream. Strawberry whip with strawberry ice cream is my favorite. Though they didn't have the strawberry ice cream today, it was still good. It has the same old fashioned atmosphere of the Oakley location. And as usual there is an assortment of chocolates to choose from. read more

The first experience I had with Aglamesis was through some memorable chocolate wedding favors. Having had been a big fan of the chocolate, and I decided that I wanted to check out the ice cream for myself. Though Graeter's is the more recognizable name for ice cream in the area, Aglamesis will always be my go-to choice. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cincinnati. The first time I visited, I was impressed with the charming, old-fashioned look. In addition to the inviting throwback look, everyone is always friendly and welcoming. They serve their milkshakes with the added option of whipped cream and butter cookies. These cookies are embossed with the words "Yes", "No" or "Maybe". Very cute! My personal favorite is their coffee-flavored ice cream. With that being said, I have since found that you can't go wrong with whatever flavor you choose. If ice cream isn't what you are in the mood for, there are several other options to satisfy your sweet tooth as well. read more

After a very disappointing dinner in the Montgomery area, I was determined to save the night with dessert. Boy did this place more than do the job! I never would have found this place from the road but it's so worth the search. They make almost everything in house and you can taste the quality. If it's one thing I'm a sucker for, it's an old school ice cream parlor. I will seriously go out of my way to find them in any city where I'm at. I am from Cleveland and usually stack up all to Malley's for a comparison. Aglamesis does not disappoint. I've been to this location twice during my time. My uncle used to live near Montgomery and he'd take us here after dinner at Montgomery Inn. On our recent visit, I found the servers to be friendly and accommodating. We had a party of 6 and although the tables only seat 4 (and explicitly say not to move the tables), one of the workers generously offered to move two tables together for us. The inside plays old school music from the Traditional Era. It makes you feel like you've transported back to simpler times. The Victorian vibes, light shade of pink and marble tabletops are all classic added touches. They have a generous menu of various sundae options and classic ice cream flavors. If you take a gander around, they also have an assortment of chocolates. I got a Carmel covered marshmallow and it was delicious! I forget what the sundae I got was called, but it had a brownie, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel on top. It came out in a classic glass dish-- I love that elevated feel! It was fantastic and the perfect portion size! Everyone in our party agreed that this is some of the best ice cream they've had (even my grandpa and he's a tough critic!). All told, I wish I lived closer so I could visit Aglamesis more often. It is somewhere I'd definitely recommend going out of your way for. read more

Wonderful old fashioned ice cream parlor. Ice cream is delicious & also the dark chocolate!

Best homemade ice cream you'll ever get anywhere, period. The chocolate is also incredible.

We stopped in for a bit of an old-fashioned ice cream date, but I have to admit that we were a little confused on how service worked for a dine-in experience. Hindsight is 20/20, and having completed our visit, I'm pretty sure we should've treated it similarly to any other table service restaurant. However, my husband managed to make it a hodge podge of communicating with our server but also going up to the front counter staff. Either way, the Raspberry Hot Fudge Sundae with Strawberry Ice Cream ($5.75) we had was delicious. They have a fairly expansive menu, and I can't wait to try more of their ice cream! However, maybe a little more clarity for customers on how to approach dine-in vs. carry-out would be helpful. read more

To be honest we have switched to Graeter's due to the quantity of ice cream you actually get in perscoop. For the price there is no comparison. The other thing is my husband always orders an extra thick shake and has never gotten one at Aglamesis. It is always the consistency of milk. read more

I loved the ice cream here at Aglamesis. I ordered a scoop of Double chocolate chip & mocha chocolate chip ice cream. The ice cream had a good flavor to it and the best part about the ice cream is that the chocolate chips are finely chopped. The staff were friendly and patient. The aren't currently offering dine in due to covid ( as of December 2020) The ice cream place is located in a plaza and there is a lot of parking space available. It took me years to visit Aglamesis Bros. as, I am not a huge ice cream person but this place has truly converted me. Their ice creams are MOST flavorful with generous quantities. Tried the banana choclate sundae and one of their seasonal peach ice cream in a waffle cone. The peach ice cream was super fresh with balanced sweetness. I am so glad I chose this one. The sundae was equally tasty; with coffee ice cream and choclate layer on the top. If you're a coffee & choclate fan - this one is for you :). The decor is very cute., almost like a dollhouse full of candies. They do have a seating at the back where they bring the menu & serve the ice cream - quite charming! If your looking for a new twist on your sweet side then this is it. We were in the area for an event and wanted something sweet. Per usual, we narrow it down on Yelp and end up here. I thought it was the cutest, very pink, sweet shop and loved it. I usually take it as a good sign when there is grave traffic or even a line at a place like this. Quality brings people coming back and it was evident they do so. I got talk scopes of ice cream, cinnamon and butterscotch. They two flavors paired well together and seriously bursted with flavor. I'm a huge cinnamon ice cream gal (random I know) and so I was thrilled to try another. I've only seen cinnamon at one other place. We will definitely be back to try more menu items and another seasonal flavor then. read more

This is such a cute ice cream parlor located in a strip mall. Honestly, my husband and I, were walking, talking, and on our way some place when we heard a family talking about ice cream, when we looked up, we saw this adorable ice cream parlor that was so inviting. We decided to make a spontaneous decision to get ice cream. So glad we did! When you step inside you feel like you stepped back in time with the decor, the vintage apron's, nice hometown feel, wonderful costumer service, and the history of the place. It is family owned and one of the workers offered to shared the history with us and we gladly listen. They have table service, but we decided to get our order to go since we had to be someplace. We got a regular sized pumpkin spice ice cream soda to share, she gave us two straws and two spoons in the cup since we were sharing. It had two scoops of vanilla ice cream, soda water, and pumpkin spice flavored syrup, it was so good. I'm glad we shared, since the regular was very large! They also had samples of chocolate covered pretzels, they were so crunchy and fresh. They also gave us a sample of a non-pareils, a wafer of chocolate with snow-capped sugar beads. Chocolate good! I highly recommend this place. read more

Went to the Main Street Hamilton location on 12/21/2024. What a disappointment. $5.65 for 2 dips of ice cream that anywhere else would have been a baby cone.
