Always wanted to try this little place. Walked in and saw a beautiful display case of chocolates. Ordered a caramel Frappuccino with a couple pieces of chocolate. I got the chocolate orange peel which was delicious and fresh. The light chocolate salted caramel was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I also enjoyed the Dubai chocolate truffle. Winan's serves up hot coffee and even hotter negligence. I left the shop not just burned by their latte, but by their customer service, too. A faulty lid led to scalding coffee all over my leg and ruined a white shirt -- no apology, no real accountability. The manager, Isaac, flat-out denied it happened, then reluctantly offered two free drinks as if that erases physical pain and property damage. Apparently, Winan's policy protects their profits more than their patrons. If you value safety, integrity, and basic decency, this is not the coffee shop for you. I expected a comforting cup of coffee -- instead, I got burned in every way. Do yourself a favor and drive right past this place! read more

Just came back from Winan's - I would say it's an adorable candy store with amazing collection of beautifully displayed chocolates candies plus a good range of hot and cold brews. It's a like a mecca for chocolates lovers. But a bit pricey I would say. Tried their Frapp and Iced Mocha. The coffee beans seem to be a bit strong for my taste but still a very pleasant place to enjoy the evening. The girls at the counter are nice too. I also tried their Spinach Feta Danish but it was kinda cold since, they don't have microwave - such a bummer! Would definitely come back for their phenomenal chocolates. read more

Used to love this place as it was a better and more sensible alternative to Starbucks but what once cost me $16 for a pound of coffee is now $15 for half pound. I give this chocolate and coffee shop in a 3.5 star rating, so I will just round up to four! This coffee house is near to my school where I teach, so lots of students get me a gift cards to this establishment--which is super cool! PERK: this coffee house has a drive-through! Any coffee establishment that has a drive-through gets bonus points, in my opinion! It makes for a quick pitstop, if needed. They also do have a small area to sit down and enjoy the coffee inside towards the front of the coffee house. It is small, but there are not many coffee shops in the area, so I could see this place getting customers. It is tucked off of route 22 and 3. Unless you are traveling that route day today for work or live in the morrow/ Maineville area, I can see where you would miss it. It is a big hidden! Another reason why I would give this establishment only 3 1/2 stars, is that it is expensive. A box of chocolate turtles was $16. Granted, when we gave this away as a gift, the person who received the gift called us immediately to tell us how delicious the chocolate was! He said it was the best chocolate he had ever tasted! In conclusion, you pay for what you get. Good chocolate can be pricey--but you want it to be good. I have not been to the location in Dayton, but I do believe this is a franchise of the main chocolate store in Dayton. We are lucky to have this shop in this area! read more

We visit Winans almost every Monday night. We take our little ones to the "candy store". The absolutely love the candy. The store is always clean, and the man who works there is SO patient and kind with our kids and everyone that comes in. The candy is consistent and amazing. read more

Not good. I am a coffee snob and was horrified that they didn't grind the beans fresh but instead used something that had been sitting around. The barista was nice enough but did a horrible job steaming the milk and basically had no texture or microfoam but was just hot. The end result was a very bad tasting latte. In a pinch I'll stop in for a coffee. But nothing beyond that. I was very excited to see that they were offering a London Fog when I stopped in several months ago. However, the barista had no clue how to make it. Hmmm. The next time I stopped in a couples weeks later there was a different guy and he made a great London Fog. It was perfect. So I decided to go back for another one several days later, different guy again and I ended up with a tepid water/milk mixture that I just ended up dumping out. I haven't been back. Been going here for years. Other than the coffee, I like that they have some sugar free chocolate options. Recently tried the sugar free peanut butter cups, and they were delicious. I also like to stop in to pick up items when I make gift baskets. Two of my favorite things to purchase, when gift giving are the small bags of coffee beans and chocolate covered wine bottles. Also recently tried a chocolate martini one evening. They also have wine and chocolate tastings. No problem if you're not a coffee drinker! So many other things to try! read more

Well, as far as local coffee shops go this is one of my favorites. They have a coffee of the day, and it is cheaper than most other competitors. The atmosphere is nice and casual in the front, and more relaxed in the back. They have an amazing selection of chocolates that I recommend you try. They have to grind their own coffee at their main store. They also go and harvest their own beans. So as far as the coffee is flavor it is straight up amazing. I loved going here when it was Grinders Coffee - they always made the perfect White Mocha. However the last few times I have experienced a serious decline in the flavor - a very bitter taste that isn't expected from a white mocha - when I want bitter I will go to a larger more commercial coffee chain. I really want my old Baristas back and the bartenders there to be sent to a bar - it really is more of a chocolate wine shop with full bar and not so much a real coffee house anymore :( read more

When it was called Grinders I went there for their toasted coconut frappe, it was amazing! I was disappointed to find out it was no longer Grinders but I decided to try it anyway. Their toasted coconut frappe was DISGUSTING! It didn't even have any toasted coconut on it and didn't taste anything like toasted coconut. I couldn't even drink it, it was HORRIBLE. We have been getting our coffee beans from Winan's in Maineville for almost a year. We live in Lebanon and it's a 20-25 minute drive from our house, but well worth it. When I went in this morning, I asked for the freshest beans since my last batch was unusually dry and not at all their usual quality. The gentleman helping me took the time to go to the back to get my beans and ended up only charging me for the chocolates I bought since I was not satisfied with my last bag of coffee beans.
