This is our second time here since the new ownership took over late May perhaps. So please base your opinion of the reviews from late May until now. Let me put in a kind word for the former owner as we have been coming here since at least 2012. This visit the tearoom was festively decorated for the Christmas holidays. Do note that the new owners will offer Kosher offerings when requested I believe. As for the high tea do bring a cooler as you will have enough food for two meals or more. There are several courses so pace yourself. You will not be disappointed with the food or the service. The folks here are friendly and engaging. For those of us who are longtime customers you will see Michelle back with her cheerful personality(as well as the new owners and staff). Eight of us went to Mrs. Teapots for their high tea (lunch) experience. Because of the size of the party, we had to give them a deposit (credit card), which was reasonable. With tax, the high tea experience is $60 a person (as of the early summer, 2026.) The high tea had a planned menu that included soup and salad, various small sandwiches, including cucumber sandwiches on which the crust was removed, and egg salad, and chicken salad sandwiches. They use bread which is made by a local pretzel company, and which is very good. It also had sweets, such as scones, and desserts, that included chocolate dipped strawberries. We had at least six pots of tea on the table, all different. These included mint tea, hibiscus tea, Earl Grey tea, English breakfast, and several others. This gave everyone a chance to try different kinds of tea. The restaurant also cells lose tea to customers. The restaurant does have hats that you can borrow, in case you want to dress up as an English lady might've done were she going to tea. A few of us did wear hats; others did not. What a wonderful, charming place! We had 2 great pots of tea, 2 fresh salads, fruit, and a homemade scone. The owners/associates could not have been nicer, and the entire experience was delightful. 3 of us went for lunch, (made reservations), hoping to enjoy what we used to enjoy but were so surprised and will not go back. One person asked for a hot tea, but does not like special teas. She wanted an English Breakfast. We were told "No, we are out of that and waiting on our order to come in". Ok, we then ordered our food and with the sandwiches there are tomatoes, lettuce and onions. "No" we were told, "we are out of onions". My chicken salad - salad was not good. Very small portion, sad greens, and only about 1/3 cup of chicken salad which was blah. My friend ordered a chicken salad on croissant and again, very little chicken salad on it. My mom ordered a BLT and the bacon was not completely cooked. They are known for their bread pudding dessert, but when we went to order that dessert we were told "No, I am sorry we are out of bread, so no bread pudding". What? The only nice thing I can say about this place is it is aesthetically charming. Food was bland, portioned small (which makes sense for high tea, but the food was nowhere near high tea standard or quality) and we were sat directly in front of the bathrooms for our reservation. There wasn't enough room for other customers to even get into the bathroom...it was gross feeling and cramped. Quiche was flavorless, salad was wilted, breads tasted like they came from a tube, chicken salad was also flavorless, cake was dry. For $40 a head, that's insane. No clotted cream or honey or any normal high tea accoutrements. How is this place still in business? read more

I typically don't write reviews, but I felt inclined to warn others who may be looking for an authentic, homemade high tea experience. I visited for the first time yesterday morning to celebrate my mother's birthday. We both left feeling confused and disappointed. The good: The interior is nicely decorated. Very cute and whimsical. The place settings are nice and what you would expect. The server/greeter was extremely friendly. There were a variety of teas to choose from, and the two we chose were delicious. The pot of tea is brought to your table. We made a reservation and were seated quickly. There was one other table at the same time as our reservation. The pot of tea took 30 minutes to get to our table. No honey or cream. The older woman in the kitchen, I assume the owner, briefly left and returned five minutes later with a store-bought bottle of off-brand ranch. Used. Our next dish came out after she returned, which included a tasteless slice of quiche and a sad mixed green salad with a side of ranch. Nothing was added to the salad aside from one slice of tomato. Did she go to her car or her house? No clue. Either way, the ranch tasted off/sour, and using your personal ranch for your restaurant guests is unhygienic. Our next dish was a small cup of fruit and what they called "chocolate chip bread." No scones, no clotted cream, no jam. How do you offer a tea service without scones? This was also not presented on a tiered stand. The "chocolate chip bread" was a store-bought chocolate chip muffin mix. Our next dish was presented on a tiered stand. Two half-slices of chicken salad on a croissant (one slice on each tier). I would expect at least two different sandwiches per person. It tasted fine, but there was barely any chicken salad actually on the sandwich. Then, our final dish (not presented on a tiered stand) was a chocolate-covered strawberry and a piece of chocolate cake with glaze. The chocolate cake was just a boxed chocolate cake mix. I know it well. At the price of $40/adult plus tip, we were expecting much more from this experience. It was not an authentic high tea, and the majority, if not all, of the food items were store-bought. Would not recommend. read more

This is a fun little spot for afternoon tea! The tea options are really yummy, and the light finger foods are pretty tasty. My favorite tea was the apricot peach tea - full of flavor! We were served in 4 courses, and my favorite was the 2nd course, which included a really tasty chocolate chip scone and a small, moist slice of blueberry cake. The price has apparently gone up a bit but still isn't so bad at $40 per person for afternoon tea. They have a cute area in the back where you can select from a wide range of fun hats to wear as you enjoy your little tea party. When we came we were very skeptical, but as we walked in we were pleasantly surprised. We were served immediately and, since it was my first time having tea, was given very helpful suggestions on what to order. The waitress was so polite and kind, and the owner/chef seated us personally and frequently came over to see how we were doing. There was a total of four courses and we left with multiple leftovers from each course. Tea and the first course came almost immediately, with only a slight wait in between the other courses. The place was small, but in a very cozy way, and was a cute as it was welcoming. They even offer a wide variety of fancy, and old fashioned hats for you to wear while you dine. The food was sooo amazing, examples being the mushroom soup ( I don't even like mushrooms and I loved this), and the wide variety of sandwiches served. I would like to point out that before coming to this tea room I read some bad reviews, but they were all posted when the restaurant had a different owner, and the place a taken a very positive turn since then ( the owner has only been here for a week). read more

Mrs. Teapots maybe an ok place to have lunch if you are not expecting an English tearoom. We were greated by a friendly young lady and seated promptly. However, that is where the the downhill experience begins. Our tea was teaBAGS that you can buy at the local grocery store. When we asked for milk with our tea we were offered little creamer pods. We waited 45 minutes for a salad and a slice of crustless quiche. We were not informed that our salad would contain strawberries, mandarins, cranberries, and nuts. Had we been told so, we would not have chosen ranch or Caesar dressing. When our scone, barely 2 inches in size arrived we asked if there was jam available for it. They looked at us like we were crazy to ask for such a thing. They found us some peach jam I believe it was. The clotted cream was not clotted cream. Maybe whipped frosting or some kind of cream cheese frosting. The half chicken salad sandwich and mini cucumber sandwich was decent. The chocolate chip cookie was as hard as a rock, the chocolate covered strawberry and chocolate cake were good. The "chef" / owner was not a very friendly lady. She answered the phone and told somebody seeking a reservation that they couldn't take her reservation and that it was a lot of work to accommodate her and her party. I do not recommend this business! I would give this place a zero if I could. It took over 5 minutes to place our drink order. Another 5 min to place our order for 2 turkey club sandwiches. After an additional 45 minutes, with no updates from the waitress, we still didn't have our food. We flagged her down to ask how much longer it might be and we were told that we were 1-2 orders away from getting our food. We waited an additional 10 minutes and still didn't have our food. So after being in the restaurant for an hour, and still no food, we put a $5 on the table to pay for our 2 cans of Coke, and walked out. The waitress actually came out of the restaurant and told us that wasn't enough, to consider that there was also tax! My friend actually gave her an additional $3. I think instead the waitress should've come out, apologized, and handed us our $5 back. Never again read more

Mrs. Teapots is, I really hate to admit this, a fun place to go. We had a party for my Grandmother's birthday in the back room and it was a treat. For those who like dressing up for tea time there are so many gawdy options just laying around in the room that you could certainly come up with some ridiculous combinations. The premise is to recreate teatime as it is in England and I've never been to England, but it feels pretty authentic to me. The tea selection is huge and delicious, and I don't even like tea. The food was also surprisingly delicious. For being a tea room I didn't expect the food to be that good. A healthy portioned sandwich with great sides. We all had a great time at Mrs. Teapots, and even as a guy I am looking forward to going back. read more

I've seen wider selections at other tea and tea houses, but everything I've tried at Mrs Teapots has been good, so they excel at what they chose to put on the menu! I've never had a wait here but be sure to check with them ahead of time as their hours are kind of wonky and tend to just be for lunch. I thought that when the clock strikes four, everything stops for tea. But unfortunately that's when Mrs Teapots is closing their doors. As far as the service I've had a mixed experience. Sometimes the staff are super friendly and helpful and sometimes you feel terrible for even bothering them with your patronage. My friend took me to Mrs. Teapot's last summer and I immediately fell in love with the sweet little shop. Service was just right, bringing our tea and giving us a little time to enjoy it before our food arrived. I'm planning on taking my grandchildren there for High Tea the next time they are in town. I know they will love the dress-up capabilities with all the different hats. I can't wait to take them! I found a tea cup night light that I couldn't live without, took it home and now, it beams in my kitchen at night. I ordered chicken salad on a croissant and everything was crisp and fresh and delicious. We had several different teas to choose from. I had raspberry. Arrived with my party in tow including my out of town sis and 89 year old mother. Paula the Owner said the place was full and the wait would be an hour. When we got our food several things were wrong, which we indicated, but it seemed like it was more of a bother to complain than to just eat the food. I moved to the area in May. My niece had seen Mrs Teapots from the window for months. So I planned on taking her for an afternoon of tea. She is 5. We got dressed up and made our way to the tearoom. We were greeted by a server who suggested a table for us to sit. After sitting there for several minutes, at least 10. We saw the very busy server walk over to a table of 7, who came in several minutes after us, I couldn't believe the server completely ignored my niece and I but gave menues, set place settings, and took drink orders for 7 ppl. While not as much as looking at us again. So I said to her "Excuse me, will a server be coming?" She fake smiled and said "Give me a minute." "I'm very backed up." As she turned to continue what she was doing she even did an eye roll, as if I was bothering her. After that another lady comes from the kitchen, she ends up waiting on us. She was at least friendly and attentive. There was a third person in the kitchen working. I figured out she was the owner. She did ask my niece how her grilled cheese was. The owner wasn't exactly rude but she wasn't exactly friendly either, sorta stern. Perhaps she was just busy as well with kitchen orders. The tea experience its self was excellent. There are hats and gloves to wear, my niece enjoyed picking out a hat. There are so many wonderful teas to choose from. A small pot of tea easily fills your cup almost 3 times. The portions are generous and the desert, we had chocolate cake, was delicious. Since this is my new community. I will try again and just hope that every guest walking through the front door for the first time isn't treated from the start how my niece and I was treated. I sensed a cliquey small town vibe. I took my five year old and a friend to have afternoon tea. The girls were very excited for their first tea experience and we were even considering having a private party here. Sadly we were not impressed. We were never offered children's options or given any guidance when making choices.
