Love the food here and the restaurant service side. The bar area has a super chill atmosphere but unfortunately the service is crappy and disorganized. We would go around football season when it was busy and we stopped coming because of this reason. I would like to go go back again and see if anything has changed because the food is amazing. I was working out in Riverside with my partner so we decided to try it out. We liked it a lot so we went back the next day. We ordered from the lunch menu both times and were pleased with our dining experience both times. First day I tried the red beef curry was very nicely made. Not as spicy as I would have liked but Thai chili peppers are available upon request. (I tend to like my Thai food on the level of tongue-burning, lip-swelling, make-you-sweat kinda spicy.) The servings sizes are not large, but definitely filling. I was full and had a hard time finishing my meal. The herbs and spices used were delicious. Not over-the-top on any of the ingredients, but a healthy balance. I usually enjoy having bamboo shoots a tad crunchy, and these were very soft so there was no crunch--not enough to be considered a negative, though. The second time I tried the Garlic and pepper beef. Again, I was not disappointed. Rich flavors cooked just right. Thai iced tea. The first day I ordered the Thai iced tea it was weak and watered down. However, again, not enough of a factor to make it a negative dining experience. Lunch is served with choice of fried or white rice, mixed salad with house dressing. I have to say, their house dressing is AMAZING! The server wouldn't tell me what it was, only that it was their house dressing. It tasted of honey mustard with a slight hint of vinegar wine, but I'm not sure. Service - ***** The staff were friendly, helpful, and polite--all of which you would expect in a nice sit down restaurant. Price - **** For a lunch menu, prices were reasonable. I might even say that for proportions, the prices were good. Promptness - ***** The staff were responsive, and the food came out quickly. Sadly the service is consistently bad. Once seated it's hit or miss depending on the server- bar side tends to be worse. If you order to go good luck! We finally found a great Thai restaurant in Riverside. We thought we had two others, but they changed ownership (won't admit it) and their recipes aren't the same. We left a Thai restaurant that charges extra for more veggies and reduced/zero meat. This place is terrific and the Thai dishes are authentic. Ambience is trendy, but nice. There's some great fusion with Japanese and Chinese as well. They also have a sport's bar part that is separated from the dining area. Outdoor seating is covered and very nice. read more

We've been loyal customers to GraPow since your grand opening. We love your food. It is what keeps us coming back at least twice month. Yes service has declined in the last year or so, not really sure why with the expansion you seemed to have hired more staff. On July 3rd 2017 we arrived at 5:30pm we were seated, we ordered our appetizers they came out quickly. We waited. We watched a large group as well as two other couples get seated. We asked JUANITA, how much longer for our food since it had been about 30 mins since we ordered. She said she would check, she never returned. We tried to get her attention several times she did a really great job at ignoring us. We finally caught her attention...again she said she would go check again. AGAIN, she never came back. We watch the two couples AND group who were seated after us, eat and receive the check. It was after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting that we decided we didn't want to wait any longer. We flagged down a busboy and asked for the bill. Lo and behold Juanita reappeared with the bill and she smiled and said "thank you" for what I'm not sure?! We continued to ask her where our food was, she shrugged and said she didn't know. We then asked for management she said she was management. YIKES. Juanita can't even manage a table and you trust her with the entire restaurant??? YIKES. Look, mistakes happen. Servers forget to put in orders. Sometimes orders are served to the wrong table... we get it. Being ignored for an hour and a half, we don't get. read more

We enjoyed the Thai-fusion at this establishment. My colleagues and I got some appetizers and lunch specials. The atmosphere, service, and food met our expectations. The bar area had 5-6 big screen TVs throughout the areas. The server was attentive and helped us select the food choices. And my lunch special included a salad, wonton, gyoza, and Grapow entree. Friday- July 20 @ 7:00 PM. Staff is poorly trained. The quote time was 30 min. The male host told us we could wait in the bar. We spotted a table and sat. Then an Asian guy with a funky long mustache kicked us out. He said we couldn't seat there. "Oh" I replied, they told us we could seat here and wait, and he said "its a shady area... the bar stools and some sections only" Whatever, we just got up walked towards the exit door. I asked to speak to a manager and a male caucasian said there was no manager in site. Whatever... we just left! My take away... "Do not seat in the bar!"there are no clear signs of where one could seat. It is a guessing game that could cost embarrassment when they kick you out of your seat! read more

Grapow is great and you do have to wait if you go when everyone else does. But that's because the food is so great. The service is wonderful too! I love the Shrimp Wonton soup. I order it so much that one of the ladies' knows what my order is when I get there. This is not a chain and they appear to have hired more servers. So yes, if you go at peak times you will have to wait. However, would you feel better if you went to a restaurant at a peak time and no one was there. I sure wouldn't. Here's hoping anyone who's had to wait will go back and give them a try during an off peak time. read more
