Oh man, the service here is horrible! My friend and I waited to get our drink orders for 20 minutes! Another 20 to take our orders. There were employees just sitting down at the table (probably on their breaks) talking to each other which I understand but at least let the workers that aren't on break know we are trying to get their attention. All they did was look at us and looked away. The Restuarant was definitely not that busy as well. Okay end of my rant. I had the pad thai chicken and it is always amazing. I always end up getting it because it is just full of flavors. Not like any other pad thai I have had and I grew up in the Thai Restuarant business. I've also had the boat noodles, the drunken noodles, dragon fried rice and the duck entree during previous visits but nothing beats the pad Thai here. I highly recommend it. The next best thing would probably be the Dragon fried rice here if you're a rice type of person. That itself made me give the 3 stars. The customer service is a definite 0 in my book. Gra pow is my go to spot I love everything about this place the food is always perfect it's the best Thai food I've ever had and the reason I'm reluctant to try any other thai place everything has so much flavor exactly how Thai is supposed to be. The thai iced tea is a must as well as the calamari appetizer. Most Appetizers are five dollars until six I forget when it starts either twelve or three which is the best deal we order like five and then split them it's always enough and there fried coconut banana ice cream is another one of my faves perfect for date night and they expanded not that long ago to a bar and sushi bar which I haven't tried yet but I'm sure is just as amazing . read more

I really like Grapow. This restaurant has great ambiance with its modern decor and dim lighting, great for date night (except on Valentines; when its out of control). My favorite dishes include the following: -Kings Fried Rice-This rice dish is a meal (for two) in itself and I love the chinese sausage mixed into it. -New York Steak-Not something that you would typically order at a Thai place, but the Marinade that they use on the steak (along with being so tender) is OOOhhh...so yummy. -House Salad- Either the peanut or miso dressing makes this simple staple so delicious! Items I don't like so much are: Pad Gra-Pow- Its ground meat (beef or chicken) with vegetable with a bit of bite. Kinda boring. Ladna- I don't know if we ordered it on a bad day, but it had some bitter/sour taste. Weird. Or is that how its supposed to taste? Besides avoiding those two dishes, I'll keep visiting GraPow for date night or whenever I crave Kings Fried Rice. read more

Stay away from this place if you want to have good food!!!!!! We had heard about this place for over a year now, and somehow never got around to it. Finally we had an open date night and decided to go. This is the worst attempt at Thai food that I have had, possible the worst thai restaurant in all of the Riverside Area. First and foremost, the prices are high for that kind of food and service. Service was slow and not very neat. They did not give us enough spoons to serve our food and took about 10 minutes to bring us chopstick, our food got cold, not that it matter tastewise... The food...terrible!!! I made a mistake of ordering one of their appetizers, the tuna tartare and this was awful. It was raw tuna (fresh I'll give them that) but it ruined the entired texture and taste that they covered in this mayo-type dressing that tasted bitter and stale. Then they brough the papaya salad. NOW: I measure a thai restaurant by their papaya salad, the most famous thai dish besides noodles. The thai place over by the Riverside airport did not have thai salad because people don't order it enough so, even though I was shocked and dissapointed the food was so good there that I gave them credit for it. But Grapow has the worst papaya salad ever! It was overly sweet, not enough garlic and warm!!! I guess they served it on a hot plate. Inexcusable mistake! Then they brough some shrimp dish that was basically a packet of dry condiments for kung pao chicken modified for this dish, just terrible!!!! Chock full of MSG and good knows what. The fried rice was ok, but if they had screwed that up also I might have walked out. We decided to skip dessert for being afraid of another dissapointment. And the worst came in the end, the bill. We spent over $50 on possible the worst dinner I have ever had. I had better food at IHOP!!! I should have gone to the yardhouse and I could have at least had a good piece of steak and great beer. People, if you really like thai food (and not just cheap chinese wannabe crap), or just good food please skip this place it is not worth one cent. I cannot understand why people recommend this to anybody!! On a general note, I have not been impressed by any of the restaurants that are in the MIssion Grove plaza, the wine place has terrible food also and if the plaza is home to a chilis, I think that says it all don't you think??? read more

This place has always been a good dinner venue when my fiance and I want some quiet time on a Friday night. Waiting for seating is usually pretty short; waiting for dinner is usually longer, but when it's a Friday night and you're enjoying a glass of wine over conversations with your best friend, it's highly recommended. Ok I really like this place. It's small but has a good size bar inside so if you want to watch the game and get some really good Thai this is the place. So far everything I've had was good. I purchased two items for pick up early on a Saturday evening-- shrimp pad thai and a yellow shrimp curry dish. I was told it would be ready for pick up in about 20 minutes. The food was hot and ready when I got there. The dinner crowd was already starting to come in at this time amd it looked pretty busy inside. The food was very flavorful, cooked well, and the vegetables were fresh. I would have liked a few more shrimp in each order but the shrimp were large and appropriate for the price. The portions are generous and easily lasted for 3 different sittings. This is a great little local spot for fresh ingredients and flavorful meals. read more

Gra-Pow is a hidden gem in this city, and glad this restaurant is so close to my apartment. My boyfriend and I have lived in Moreno Valley/Riverside our whole lives, but just decided to come here for the first time last week. Food was great, atmosphere very nice, the only thing is the service. The hostess did about everything BUT seat people. Didn't greet the 10 people waiting by the front door, even something as simple as "ill be rite with you". You shouldn't have to wait 10minutes to be acknowledged. I have been to the restaurant twice in the past couple weeks, and both times same hostess, same thing. One server that works there is the best, you get girl, long pony tail, I need to catch her name but she is the best. Always takes care of everyone she walks by. Sadly the service is consistently bad. Once seated it's hit or miss depending on the server- bar side tends to be worse. If you order to go good luck! Interesting restaurant, but not really firing on all its woks yet. We had multiple different servers; all were nice enough and only once did they repeat an action that had already been handled by another server. The food was served in ample portions and generally tasteful. My Lard Na noodle dish had turned into a noodle kugel and otherwise was drenched with a clear gravy. Although the dish description indicated that it included Chinese broccoli I didn't see any florets, only traditional broccoli. I had specifically asked to ensure that the dish included Chinese broccoli so I'm not sure what happened there. Although our steamed and pan fried chicken vegetable dumpling appetizers were nice and flavorful, they weren't warm all the way through (presumably they were not steamed long enough to remove the chill). The house wine (Sauvignon Blanc) was fine and a great buy. Now the major problem with the restaurant. Only half of the restaurant is usable for a comfortable dining experience, pity you if you get seated in the wrong section. Half of the restaurant is overlooked by two huge windows into the kitchen with glaring florescent light pollution spilling out into that part of the dining room. The windows don't even look in on anything interesting. Just prep tables with racks of Styrofoam takeout boxes. There are actually chairs in the dining room that look directly into this glaring white and stainless box. I can only imagine that those in that seat would feel they are either being interrogated or about to meet their maker. Another quibble, although common to many restaurants, the smokers huddled around the heaters place right outside the front door. This unfortunately results in forcing nonsmokers to walk through a cloud of smoke to enter the restaurant. On our visit it appeared the smokers were employees of the restaurant - I guess they don't have a back door. All in all, the joint has reasonably good food, it's just not a great place. read more

This place is a true gem. The environment is cozy and intimate yet still comfortable for families. Service is excellent as the entire staff works as a team to make sure guests are all attended to. "I was a bit put off at first, but the food is very good" Well, I've done just about every Thai place around town. It was time to try Gra! Pow Ambiance: Most of the Thai places in town are small restaurants with a very bright and open atmosphere. At first, I thought I was in the wrong place when I walked in because it was very, very dark, and looked more like a bistro. It was pretty crowded and I needed to sit next to a table of eating customers while I was waiting for my to-go order. Service: The girl who helped me was friendly though clearly very, very busy. But, I felt like she did a good job of managing being busy and helping me. Thanks! :) When I asked her if I could place a to-go order, she handed me a menu. I looked through the menu and settled on two items. She later came back, took my order, and brought me my check. Both items were priced on the check more expensive than in the menu. When I asked her about them, she informed me that their prices have changed and the "dine in" menus have the correct price. "But, you gave me this menu?" I honestly don't understand why it's okay to give someone a menu with prices and then tell them the correct stuff is elsewhere. Maybe give me the "dine-in" menu? Or, tell me up-front that your prices have gone up. Food: I ordered the Pad See Eaw ($12.00) with beef and a tuna wrap ($4.00). The picture next to "Tuna Wrap" looks like it is a plate of eggrolls, but what I got was one bite. I was a bit put off at first, but the food is very good. The tuna wrap was delicious. And the pad see eaw was very good as well! It was definitely the best tasting Thai I've had in town. Pricing: I was really surprised at how much more expensive this place is compared to Every other Thai place I've been to in town. The average plate is 7-8 dollars elsewhere. It is 12-13 dollars here. I looked at their pricing for all of their items and they are all much, much higher. ---------------- Pros: 1) Food tastes really, really good! 2) Inside of restaurant looks clean Cons: 1) Parking is not close to restaurant 2) Prices are high 3) They may give you one menu of prices but charge you from another 4) For me, they are a bit of a drive away from my house ----------------- Recommendation: If you have money to spend, the food is great and I would easily recommend this place. Seriously?? Phone line was busy the first two times I called, the third time it rang 12 times. Totally unprofessional. ******************************************** Answer your phones! How am I supposed to place a phone order if you dont answer? The first time I called the phone rang for over two minutes before I hung up. The second time I called, I gave up after a minute, and the third time I called the line was busy. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it's incredibly frustrating. Get another line or something. It's unprofessional and unacceptable. When I worked at a restaurant, we were expected to answer the phone in less than three rings. Food is great but not the service. Servers are not "assigned" specific tables so when it gets busy it's confusing . We had a large party and one family wanted to put their food on a separate tab. We finally found a great Thai restaurant in Riverside. We thought we had two others, but they changed ownership (won't admit it) and their recipes aren't the same. We left a Thai restaurant that charges extra for more veggies and reduced/zero meat. This place is terrific and the Thai dishes are authentic. Ambience is trendy, but nice.
