I'm disappointed in this place. We placed a phone order and they said it would be ready in 30 minutes. We got there a few minutes after 30 min and it still wasn't ready we ended up waiting an extra 15 min so by the time we got our take out it was well after 9pm. On top of that when we arrived they let us know they were out of something we ordered and already paid for. I let the girl know that maybe next time they shouldn't wait until we get there to let us know. The most annoying part is even though they were out of the item and we had to wait even longer since they didn't call to tell us they still had the nerve to charge us 2$ for the difference in price of the item we wanted vs. the new item we had to pick. We won't be back for a verrryyyyy long time (if we even decide to go back). If you decide on this place please know the wait time is a lot longer than they tell you. read more

This place has thee worst customer service ever. Not once but TWICE have they completely botched a phone order. On one occasion an order of crab fried rice came with NO crabmeat and upon complaining they attempted to make it right by offering it on the house and when getting the rice on the house the second time they forgot to put the rest of the items in the bag. I've been dining at Grapow from the very beginning, largely due to a lack of superior options in the Mission Grove area. The restaurant has evolved through multiple phases: a discount appetizer phase, a family campaign and the current lunch bargain+bar focus. It's always been a Thai restaurant at its core, but they've experimented with "Asian pizza," stir-fried chicken wings and now sushi. I give them credit for trying. I believe they peaked around 2011, when specialty dishes like crab fried rice and "crying tiger" steak first appeared on the menu. The chili levels actually meant something, and you could find larb and mussel dishes unavailable elsewhere in Riverside. They also had a promotional relationship with Hite beer--my favorite Korean lager. Gradually, however, standards began to slide again, back into syrupy-sweet Thai-Chinese dishes and happy hour appetizers. Their lunch menu is remarkably cheap, but I find their dry orange chicken and pad Thai disappointing. The one upside is their bar expansion, offering craft brews in a slightly more upscale environment than Romano's across the street. There are no quality Thai options in easy driving distance of Grapow, and the locals seem to like it--cheaper than Chili's with better beer. One can only hope the current managers learn from the past and cook at least a handful of traditional Thai dishes for the chili lovers out here. read more

This place has the best Orange chicken and BBQ beef. Every dish I've ordered has not disappointed. They are very consistent with their food which I appreciate. I've had my food for take out and have eaten there as well. The food tastes amazing even when I take it home. The establishment is decorated very well and doesn't feel overwhelming when I'm eating there. Grapow Thai is definitely a place I'd recommend to others and keep going to. read more

The food here is really good but we've consistently had bad service. Yesterday I called in an order for Father's Day at 2:44pm. Was told "about 20 minutes." I picked up some food from a different restaurant before heading to Gra Pow which took longer than I expected so I arrived around 3:20, ready to apologize to them for being late. I paid and tipped generously, then stood there waiting for my food until 4pm. An hour and fifteen minutes is unacceptable when you're quoted 20 minutes. If there's a mistake, let the customer know so at least they're informed. I could have taken my other food home and given the staff time to make my order, but instead stood around waiting for 40 minutes. Things like this happen regularly when we dine in as well. We won't get all of our food, but they'll drop the check and we have to point out that we're still waiting on our entrees. Other times our order has been incorrect but our server doesn't return so we need to get up and find assistance. Again, the food is great. I just wish they could get their service up to par. We've decided yesterday was our last visit. Can't keep dining at a place that provides us with such consistent negative experiences. read more

I tried this place for the first time today. I originally went to try their sushi,but they no longer serve sushi for lunch. They have a wide variety on their menu, so I ordered some orange chicken from their lunch specials and it came with a salad (the dressing was delish!) a chicken dumpling, and I substituted chow Mein instead of white, brown, or fried rice. My mom and sister got different kinds of curry. The service was great. The food came out pretty quickly. You can tell the food is freshly made. Bathrooms were clean, restaurant was immaculate. Their goal is to take your money with over priced food by making your drinks a little on the hefty side to get you buzzed enough before you can get your food to think it's the best thing in the world. I can name a few Thai fusion restaurants that have quality drinks WITH an appetizing menu. This place is no longer a restaurant, it is a bar filled with local drama. I've gone to the restroom to hear old ex employees recount the misconduct between married workers and owner. Ladies, if you are single and go in to have a drink w food, beware to kiss the bartenders behind or they will not serve you. Again. This place is not that serious. I literally can go back and make it myself by the description on your menu. Don't put things on your menu if we can't order them, I guess I just saved $25. So thank you and why is your staff constantly stuck behind the sushi bar and not serving tables. Our tables was dirty the entire time and we ended up putting plates on the table next to us.
