Who is the tip for?!? It is so annoying. It's fast food! You deserve the stars for the food, but one less for trying to suck more money out of a customer. I went to GR Kitchen today for the first time and loved it! They have really easy-to-use touch screens to place your order. My food was ready five minutes after ordering! I got a chicken gyro with lemon rice and vegetables and it was amazing. The tzatziki sauce had so much flavor, the meat was juicy, and everything was well balanced. I haven't had Greek food in a very long time, but since I'm trying to eat healthier again, I figured I'd check it out since I've had this place bookmarked on Yelp. They layout is like any "fast food, made-to-order" assembly line. With their easy to follow menu, it's easy to order! First you pick how you want to eat it: gyro, plate, salad bowl. I picked a plate which includes a protein, grain, and 2 sides. Second, you pick your protein and grain. I ordered the lamb and quinoa. Then you pick your sauce between the yogurt sauce, red bell pepper hummus or regular hummus. Since it's my first time, I asked to try all 3! Lastly, the sides and toppings. I added the Greek salad and the potato medley. For my toppings, I added the chopped Kalamata olives and red onions for my salad. They didn't have any Greek related drinks, so I stuck with water. Cafe Rio style set up + good quality Greek ingredients = a satisfying meal. When searching for something that wouldn't give us an excess of grease and fat in the Ft. Union area, we saw the high rating of this place and decided to give it a try. We were pleased. Food is prepared quickly, ingredients are fresh, choices are easy, and they give you a lot of food. My gyro was so full it was almost too hard to eat, but the flavor kept me coming back. The sides were ok. I got the Greek salad which could have used more lettuce and a smaller chop on the accoutrements. The pasta salad that was lacking in flavor. The place could use some softness to it to damper the volume. We happened to be there at the same time as raucous ReAL fans. Let's start with why 4 not 5 stars. That would be the service or lack there of when it comes to interaction customer service the kiosk and vibrator/pager is a little as you could say cold. The food however makes it worth coming too. Even my green friend recommended this place out of all in the area and we drive past at least 3 other locations to come here. The protein quality along with the fresh veggies and salad are off the charts good. Get in for some good quality Greek food. read more

It's a mostly Greekish place. Normally a place who's strong point is: "healthy, fresh fare" is a place I'm not likely to care about. What is the healthy fare? Pretty much anything that's NOT Greek on the menu. as they say: "Choose classic favorites like pilafi and Greek salad or healthier options like quinoa, kale, or roasted veggies". Quinoa and kale are what food eats, not what I eat. I have nothing against grains, but these are not what I'm looking for in a Greek place. I was hoping for all the best when I saw they had the giant spits of meat. I haven't seen those since living in Chicago. Those were real gyros in those days. I was ready. Instead, since it's fast casual, they slice off nice long beautiful slices of sizzling meat, put them a tray, tears them up into little pieces in the back, and put them in a tray along with all the other ingredients to sit for hours with everything else. That's fast casual works. There's 20 trays of stuff to put together your protein, wrap, accents, etc. Big fail, but that's the game. Back in the day, they took your pita, sliced a few nice solid slices from the spit as it sizzled, and put the standard toppings on it. Now we get a pale version that's under spiced. The cous cous was cooked until mushy with little flavor. The multi-color potatoes were a highlight. They were well salted, and cooked well. The cucumber and tomato salad was acceptable. It's still better than the standard places, but I wouldn't make the special effort I did this time to come back. read more

I got lamb for my protein and they did not skimp out with the meat, they really pack it in there. For the gyro toppings I chose onions, tomatoes, feta, cucumber & the Kafteria sauce which is AMAZING (it's the red pepper & feta sauce everyone is raving about in their reviews), I normally get hummus but wanted to try something different and I was not disappointed. Salad : Also very delicious, the grilled chicken was perfection, not too dry and, again, they definitely gave you a generous amount here. I really wanted to like this place, but it was actually kind of terrible. I made a pick-up order, and when I went inside the place was so dirty. Tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned in hours, and it was super slow. There was a huge trash bin full and a bunch of dirty plates piled up. The service wasn't great, but if I was the human working I would have been frustrated at all of my co-workers sitting on their phones and yelling in the back kitchen. The food was subpar. Portions are pretty big, I was hungry and probably finished about 2/3 of my dish. The restaurant is a good size, with high ceilings and lots of windows. You choose your dish (gyro, salad, or platter) and meat (pork, chicken, falafel, or gyro), and then walk along the counter letting them know what other toppings and sides (quinoa, roasted vegetables, couscous, and I think a few others) you'd like. My friend is vegetarian and she had plenty of options. I think you could pretty easily make a tasty vegan meal here too. Oh, my. The first bite of their pita sandwich made me moan. Really. The bread was so fresh and lightly buttered. The felafel balls tasted baked, not fried, and had whole black beans. The tzatziki sauce had the right amount of zip from Greek yogurt and cucumbers. I liked their vinaigrette dressing. The hummus had lots of lemon flavor; same with the rice. Had to try their baklava which didn't disappoint--it was dripping with honey, packed with nuts and spices, and wrapped in light pastry. My husband had a Greek salad with spit-fired pork and grilled veggies (squash, broccoli, zucchini, tomatoes, etc.). They have chicken, gyro or souvlaki for protein. Other sides include couscous, slaw, quinoa and marinated veggies. Supposedly they have a yogurt dessert bar which I didn't see. Employees were friendly. Service was fast. Everything was under $10. Rounding down from 3.4. If it had been a 3.6 I would have rounded up. The atmosphere is okay. The room is well lit. Most tables have not been cleaned in a while. Ordering is through a complicated multi-iPad set up. I think the purpose of this setup is so that the employee who used to run the register can watch the other employees wear AirPods and be on their phones. Service is somewhere between surly and barely cordial. I ordered the Gyro combo with lamb strips. I got 1/2 kafteri and 1/2 tzatziki sauce. I chose lemon rice and roasted potatoes for my sides. The Gyro meat was room temperature, way too thinly sliced, and very dry. The kafteri sauce is deliciously spicy and nearly made up for the lack of flavor, temperature, and texture of the meat. The tzatziki lacked flavor. I could distinctly tell the difference because there was literally all red sauce on half the gyro and all white sauce on the other half. Lemon rice was also room temperature, and even though it is called lemon rice, I thought it was too lemony. The best part of this meal was the potato medley side. There's no medley here just straight up super crispy deep fried potatoes. They were hot and fresh and delicious. I was excited to try their yougurt with fruit and honey, but they no longer have it. I'm not sure if that is pandemic related. Overall a good, not great meal, and I'm still looking for a great gyro in SLC. read more

Came here on a Friday night with friends to try something different. We've been hearing about this place for a while. The place was a bit empty for a Friday night esp during 7 pm. I was skeptical of How great the stuff here was...boy was I wrong. I ordered the plate with pork and it came with three side ( I got Greek salad, pasta and quinoa). It was quite a healthy play if you'll ask me. You get to chose a sauce also (which I got hummus to go with my pita bread). Each bite I took was a different flavor depending on how I'm combining my food. It was super delicious. I decided to also order their baklava. It was really good. Very sweet cause of the sugar syrup but also very cinnamony. It took me two days to finish this dessert cause of how sweet it was, but totally worth it. Everyone here was super nice, but I can tell that the counter servers don't really have much patience. The person serving me seem to be rushing me. Do note I was the only one ordering...they were just standing around talking to each other before I even decided on what I wanted. This is my new favorite fast food takeout! Generous portions of healthy and flavorful Greek food. The lemon rice is so good, the gyro perfection, chicken is juicy and lemony, and you aren't left with a pool of oil at the bottom of your plate (which there's nothing wrong with - just a time and a place ). The roasted potatoes are funnily enough one of the best sides. Tzatziki, kafteri, and hummus are all delicious but know the kafteri is spicy even for my family who like quite a bit of kick. The kid meals are generous and my kids loved getting to pick their food and actually ate it. Dining room is open but most people do takeout. read more

These guys have some pretty legit falafel gyro sandwiches. If I was to base this review off of the falafel sandwich alone it would be a five star review. I also got the lemon rice and the Greek salad, both of which were very good and fresh. I did find the pricing a little high for what you get. For the two of us our lunch came up to $25. Granted it was well portioned, and I didn't walk away hungry. The place was clean and there was no problem finding seating. The line was a little long but it went so fast I didn't notice. I was recommend to GR Kitchen and was in the area so I decided to grab a bowl. I love gyro's and lamb! I arrived right when they opened and I was immediately greeted with the smell of cleaner. It was really strong and off putting. I kept it healthy and went with the quinoa grain option, with Greek salad, lamb slices and topped it off with tzatziki. As my bowl was being built the food didn't look fresh, it looked like they'd been open for hours and had a lunch crowd shop before I got there. After diving into the bowl the lamb was extremely salty and the tomatoes had a dated taste to them. Would I go there again - maybe but I will definitely be trying other Greek establishments before I return. read more

He yelled at me while I was finishing up an important work call (and no one was waiting behind me) then I asked for double cous cous and he gave me a half of a spoon full and shoved it in the corner of my plate while splashing it down. When I asked for more he literally put like 2 cous cous beads to be a jerk. Then when the girl went to add my sides he said I couldn't have any. And I replied, I don't care what it costs. GR Kitchen is one of our go to's. We love it. It's tough to find great Greek food. And I have to admit that I'm a bit picky since growing up my grandmother who was from that part of the world would make authentic dishes. "Wow!" Is all I can say. There was so much flavor coming at me, I didn't know what to do with it. I got the plate and because I couldn't decide on what to order, the nice employees let me do half-sies on almost everything. I was able to try the pork and the chicken souvlaki and the lemon rice and quinoa. The gyro meet that my husband got on his plate was also bomb! I love how fresh the sides were and how much food I got on my plate. My pita bread was a tiny bit dry but because they didn't skimp on the sauces, this wasn't an issue at all.
