    The Persian tea was exceptional!

I really wanted to love this place. Actually, I called a month in advance to reserve a table because it was a special family dinner. We traveled far. Walked in the place, it was empty. Half of the restaurant was being renovated. People were working on the remodel as we dined. I am sure it will be nice. We ordered quite a bit of food, what we got was the perplexing part. They brought a delicious barley soup, no explanation, but was nice. 3 of the 5 things we ordered were incorrect. I mean really? We were the only people in the restaurant! So many people checked on us to see if it was ok. I was embarrassed for them. The koobideh was fantastic but we ordered two mix- we really wanted to try the chicken. Fesenjun is delicious, I have never had with beef before, usually is chicken. The yogurt was good, needed a tad bit of salt. The gormeh sabzi never came, instead we got an eggplant curd, which was good but.... Overall good food but such a strange experience. We so bad wanted a great Persian family meal on a Friday night. Nonetheless, this place is a gem for the area. Try it, I hear they are adding Afghan food to their menu when the remodel is done.

Unique flavors, seemed like the beef was marinated in yogurt, and the rice was spiced nicely. David took our order and he was very helpful, and kept our drinks filled. The food comes out of the kitchen just like the photos. Very few people were here during lunch, so if you want a quiet place to have a conversation, this could be the spot. First time having Persian food, will be back for sure.

Absolutely love the food! Zeitoon will definitely be a place we will be returning! My family will love this place.

Such a lovely little Persian restaurant that deserves some attention! Everyone who works here was so nice and attentive to all the customers' needs. The dishes came out quickly and the portions are huge! Inside is decorated well and had some calming music playing in the background. Now onto the food: this was my first time having Persian food, but I came with my brother and his wife who eat Persian food often. I'd definitely get some appetizers! The shallot yogurt dip was surprisingly so refreshing and flavorful, and you can't go wrong with any of the eggplant dips! Next time we come, we'll get the hummus! For the main entrees, we got 2 lamb and 1 beef dish. The lamb shank was SO tender and every bit of it was covered in flavor. The seasoned rice and sauce with carrots were the perfect pairing to the lamb. The beef kabob we got was also so so tender and packed with flavor. I've never had beef that tender and I will definitely order this every time I come. I loved the addition of the tomatoes and onions on the side. We also saved some of our dips to eat with the meat which I'd highly recommend. Oh and the barley chicken soup!! What a great way to start off our meal. A bowl of soup comes with each entree and it's one of the most comforting bowl of soup you'll ever taste! Overall, come here with a group! Everyone will love it and it's the perfect intimate setting so everyone can chat and enjoy a meal together.

Zeitoon welcomed us with a very chill dinner vibe on a Friday night. We had eggplant dip, beef kabob and lamb shank. Generally we felt like dishes could be more salty, but then we also realized that allowed us to finish the whole dish without the need to chug a gallon of water. I do wish it's a little bit more flavorful with spices; I could taste hints of spice but it definitely didn't hit me. Eggplant dip is ok, the bread that went with it was not warm. Lamb shank was great, very tender, the sauce that went with it is delicious 10/10, the rice was fragrant but I hoped it would be more tender. Beef kabob was very tender, the grilled tomatoes that went with it was a little bland. At the beginning the service was slow and a bit confusing, but towards the end of the meal we got a lot more attention from another staff, which helped us leave earlier with a baby. As a new mom, I appreciate the women bathroom having a diaper change station. The place also had children's play area as well.

The food was good and reasonably priced for the ingredients used, the atmosphere was fantastic and very unique, and the service was top notch! Would absolutely recommend!

Truly authentic and delicious Persian food. We get kabobs from here on a regular basis and are always satisfied. The service, dining area, and market are all great too. Highly recommend!

Freshly baked barbari bread w/o sesame & it tastes better with the sesame they add to it...My favorite sour cherry jam from their store!!

Pomegranate stew was delicious! Persian tea capped the meal perfectly. We got a few dishes and shared family style.

What kind of market is this?

It's got a small section of produce , half the store is a restaurant and the majority of food is something you'd find in a middle eastern store. Kebobs are delicious!

I ordered the Beef Shawarma and my wife got the Musakhen with fries. The Clam Chowder was good. I've certainly had better, like at Market Street in town or at the Brigantine in the San Diego area. The server was kind of stumbling over his words when he described it and until it arrived I wasn't sure if it was going to be New England clam chowder or Manhattan. He proclaimed that it was the best clam chowder you'll ever get at a Middle Eastern restaurant and I can't really argue about that. The Beef Shawarma is served in a wrap that is open at both ends and cut in half. They put a small portion of pickled items on the plate and dust everything with sumac powder. The beef is thinly sliced. I really didn't enjoy the flavor. The greens in the wrap were extremely bitter and in my opinion it made for an unpleasant flavor. Maybe I just got extra bitter greens on mine but it was overwhelming everything else. I didn't like that the wrap was open, I had to lean over my plate as I ate because the sauce was dripping out and I didn't want to get it on my clothes. Eventually I gave up and used my fork to pull the meat out of the other half so that I could avoid the bitterness. The Musakhen (that's how it is spelled on the menu) was also a wrap. I tried a bite and I liked that better than the beef Shawarma but I still didn't really like something about the flavor. The fries were nicely crispy and fresh but there is a seasoning on them that really wanted to be on my fingers more than it wanted to be on the fries or my napkin. Like no matter how hard I tried to wipe it off there was still some of it on my fingers. Once again there was something about the flavor I didn't really like. My wife eventually offered up some of the aioli and it made it a little better but once again I didn't really like the flavor of the aioli. So for whatever reason the flavors there just aren't for me. My wife on the other hand was very excited about everything and was talking about all the things she was going to try the next time we visited. I didn't want to be a negative bummer during the meal but I was thinking she was going to have to come back with someone other than me. The restaurant is nice and they have very good service. There were a few other tables of large groups and it seems like this is a place that works well for get togethers. Parking is not adequate at all. We got a spot but only because we got there at 4:50 for dinner. I overheard other people talking about the trouble they had finding a spot.
