I live in the Inland Empire and was looking to preserve my wedding dress, but I did not want to travel to LA or ship my dress to an online service. I was so happy to have found Kirstine's service! Her office is located off the 91 Freeway in Corona, which is very close to me. She reassured me that all cleaning is done in-house and locally, and that my dress would not be shipped out for cleaning. I really appreciated how thoroughly she explained the cleaning and preservation process. I could tell she is very knowledgeable and passionate about the preservation of dresses. My wedding dress was a little more old-fashioned, with long sleeves and a lot of tulle fabric to make it "puffy." She knew the best way to not only clean it, but also preserve it. She did this by making alterations to my dress such as recommending to remove any extra fabric that will help the preservation process (which I was 100% on board with). She was also able to clean the heavy makeup stains and dirt that my dress went through during my wedding day. The whole process in total took about 5 months, from sending my inquiry online to picking up my dress. For Christmas I wanted to preserve my mother's wedding dress for her and spent a lot of time researching before settling on Gown Preservation Specialists. The entire process at Gown Preservation Specialists was flawless and I knew immediately I'd made the right choice. From the beginning, the owner Kirstine was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She explained everything clearly, walked us through the entire process, and answered every question my mom and I had. My mother also brought my grandmother's dress, a very old garment from the 40's to see if that could be preserved as well and Kirstine accepted the challenge without skipping a beat. I went to Kirstine to restore my wedding gown almost two years after my wedding. I just hadn't gotten around to it and didn't see what the big deal was. But now I'm glad I went because when I went to the consultation and took my dress out for the first time since the wedding, I was shocked to find a huge brown stain on the skirt! According to Kirstine, a lot of stains may not be immediately noticeable, but they oxidize over time. She took care of all of that. She even went out of her way to contact the dress designer to ask if the appliques on the dress were stained or if they were supposed to be a taupe color (they were supposed to be)! Part II: The PICK-UP! My gown was set to be picked up within roughly 10-12 weeks, but I was in shock when I received the email that she was ready within 5 weeks! It was due to no personalization on the outer box. My dress was beautifully folded into the box, which robin had educated me on how to take care of her (the gown) throughout the years. A pair of white gloves was given to handle the gown with care, so that was a plus. I just received my wedding dress and veil from Robin this past weekend -- all professionally cleaned and neatly preserved in a special box. I had the outer box personalized and embroidered with the first initials of my name and my husbands name along with the date of our wedding -- and I got to choose the color dusty pink, which was one of the colors in my wedding. I got married towards the end of 2021 in November, and my wedding dress was collecting dust in my closet on a hanger for over a year before I decided to bring it to Robin. I knew I wanted to keep my wedding dress and my veil as an heirloom, and had wanted to get it professionally cleaned and stored safely to avoid any discoloration or damage. I did some research and eventually found Gown Preservation Specialists - which I'm glad I did. It was easy to set up a first initial appointment online on their website, and Robin was knowledgeable as she went over all the details of the process of how they clean and preserve the dress properly. I also liked the idea that I can open the box anytime if I wanted to see my dress with the gloves they provided in the box. She also informed me that I should expect for it to take approximately 12-14 weeks for the whole process. Once it was ready, I was able to make an appointment with Robin via text to pick up my dress, but there was a double booking. I initially contacted another company located in Texas, and the price was a bit out of my budget. After my Grandpa passed away, I knew I needed to fulfill my promise to my Grandpa to have my grandmother's dress cleaned and preserved.
