My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to the full Vichy treatment as a couple's experience. Neither of us had ever experienced something like this before. Let me tell you that it was very, very nice! We were greeted by Jenny when we arrived. After filling out a short questionnaire, we were led to the changing rooms and the experience started. They have 2 Vichy tables next to each other in the same room for us. The body scrub, rinse, and massage were all very nicely done. This little place is a hidden gem. I love a body scrub. It's my go to treatment when I visit the big spas like the Grand Del Mar or Burke Williams. There's something luxurious about wet room treatments and I love the way my skin feels after. Go Vichy is a new body scrub boutique located in a business park in Encinitas. There are two treatment rooms. Each room has two treatment areas- so you can bring a friend if you want. There are separate men and women's locker room/changing area, and a shower room. Upon arrival, you will check in at the front desk and be shown to the locker area. There, you will put your belongings into a locker, and change into a robe and slippers which are provided. Then you will take a quick shower after which your technician will greet you in the waiting area and take you to the treatment room. I had an amazing appointment with Grace. She scrubbed me with special exfoliating mittens, then massages my skin with oil and hot rocks. She asked if she could wash my hair (no conditioner). My skin feels amazing and I will definitely be back. Here are some things to remember: *There is a hair dryer in the locker room and a mirror *Take off all your jewelry and put it in your shoes in your locker do you won't forget it. * Your face will get wet and you do start out the treatment face down on the massage table *They are eco-friendly in that water is not wasted. In other words, the Vichy shower is not on the entire treatment. It is used to rinse. The exfoliating comes from the mittens, not salt or sugar scrub. read more

The staff was kind and my masseuse check in multiple times to makes sure the pressure was okay. My girlfriend and I arrived exactly at our appointment time even though they asked us to arrive 15 minutes early so the whole thing felt a bit rushed because they had customers right after. In fact they were so rushed that they refused to take a picture of me inside the massage room. Govichy is wonderful. I routinely get the 90 minute signature treatment, which is a full body scrub and a massage. This is a WET scrub! A hundred times better than the silly dry scrub many spas offer these days. American's aren't used to having someone bathe us, so I understand if you are skeptical or timid. I suggest you think of yourself as royalty being decadently bathed by your attendant. Lie back and let it happen. It is so professionally done that you will feel comfortable. Grace is relentless. She scrubs every nook and cranny. Dead skin doesn't stand a chance. It has nowhere to hide. Grace scrubs places where you forgot you had places. A very thorough scrub. My dermatologist told me to use a loofah, but in two years using the loofah at every shower I didn't accomplish what Grace did in one session. My skin has greatly improved as a result. Instead of telling me to use a loofah, the doctor should have just sent me to Grace. The rinse is a horizontal shower. You don't get up for this. You just stay on the table, and the water comes to you. Hot water everywhere at once. After the rinse, you are dried. Again, you never leave the table. This is a magic trick. It starts with a wet person on a wet table, and ends 30 seconds later with everything dry, and a nice heated towel covering you. Then there's the massage. Grace is quite skilled at this. There's a lot of deep muscle work, which I need. There are hot stones. There is assisted stretching, expertly done. Grace seems to know what stretches I need, as she puts me through the same ones my physical therapist does. Small businesses are having a tough time these days. Upon arriving we were told that one of therapists was having car trouble so the owner/receptionist would start his scrub and then the therapist would continue the massage. Twice during the scrub she left to answer the phone. After the scrub the owner/receptionist left and said she was going to get the massage therapist... Half an hour later no one showed!!! He was offered water but zero explanation. While we were not charged, we found the whole experience to be VERY disappointing and unprofessional. This place was clean and actually had english speaking employees that I could communicate with. Definitely would not go back here. Going in, my friend and I decided that it would be fun to get a massage to kill time while we waited for her car to be fixed. It was my first massage, but she has had multiple massages before this one. I paid for the 60 min massage and she paid for the 90 min. In the beginning, everything seemed super normal, we were asked to change, stepped in the massage room, and got under the covers. I had a female massage therapist and my friend had a male. During my massage, my lady started to pull my bikini bottoms all the way down to my knees and I did NOT want that. So I kept pulling them back up and she would proceed to pull them down like she wasn't getting the hint. I didn't say something because I thought it was normal since this was their most basic massage. She proceeded to cross the boundaries by rubbing in areas that should not be rubbed during a massage even though I was clearly uncomfortable. The same thing happened to my friend with her male massage therapist. Although she wasn't pulling her pants back up, he was proceeding to touch her in an inappropriate way. He was slapping her butt even though it was "part of the massage". He was also jiggling her butt and when he asked her to flip over onto her back, he kept doing things that would expose her chest and he called her cute in the process of this massage. Both massage therapists proceeded to tell us to relax, but we were clearly uncomfortable (they knew that) and we didn't want to be in that room anymore. When we got out of the room, we knew that something was wrong with this massage. I ended up calling my cousin who is a massage therapist and she said that this was NOT normal. The typical rule for a massage is that if a client is wearing clothing over a certain area, they DO NOT want to be worked on there. And if they are exposing themselves in that way, you always ask if they want work done there and keep them covered to respect privacy. If a client is pulling their pants up constantly, that means they do not want you proceeding to touch them in those areas. If you keep having to tell your client to relax, you should know that they are uncomfortable. They never once asked us if they could pull our pants down and touch us the way they did, but they didn't care. When we called back to tell the owner what happened, she said that "next time, we need to speak up". In my mind, this was a "normal" massage (even though it wasn't) because I've never experienced one before. And my friend didn't say anything because she was being handled by a man. We did get a refund, but after going through that, a refund was the least they could do. Would not recommend going here unless you want to feel completely violated and like you have a pit in your stomach at the end. Instead of feeling relax & at peace, we felt sick & disturbed. read more

I went in to just get a massage, as I had had a body scrub before at a place on Convoy, and while it made for a good story, I wouldn't say it was pleasant. When I saw the treatment room at Vichy, I decided to go ahead and try the body scrub and was so glad I did! You are kept warm with overhead showers, and the wet sheet is peeled off when the scrub is over. The massage therapist dried me and put warm, clean towels on me before starting the full body massage with my choice of essential oil. I also got the hot rocks, which were fantastic!
