There was no way that I could have such an amazing experience & not write a brief note on Yelp. Yesterday, I was all set to purchase a unit from MMS & an hour before my movers arrived, I was told that not only would they do a credit check(completely absurd) but they would also require a security deposit which was almost $300. I was baffled, annoyed & in a panic so I thought to ask the rep in the most polite manner possible, "who is your competition?" She immediately said, " Gotham" and I thanked her for her honesty, said a prayer & called. Adam was my initial point of contact & it was evident from the jump that he wasn't about any scams, or trying to squeeze your pockets dry. His genuine care & concern that my items would be secured & accessible put me in such a state of peace & assurance that I likely would not encounter any BS. He stated he wouldn't be there but that his team would be there to assist me which brings me to Jonathan. Now Jonathan was my amazing, awesome, & extremely polite rep who made sure from the time I arrived w/ my items that he had my best interest in mind. Having recently moved from Chicago, I shared w/ Jonathan the importance of having this storage space & how much easier things will be for me once I move. He not only escorted me to my unit, but he was such a gentleman & moved my heavy items into the unit for me. Talk about 1st class customer service. I haven't talked about how reasonable my unit was priced but it was so affordable & NO HASSLE involved. Jonathan was impeccable from start to finish & that's rare these days. In short, you would be a complete fool to go anywhere else but to Gotham for your storage needs. Waste no time & just go here to experience consumer greatness on another level! These guys are unbelievably amazing!! My friends and I were traveling from Australia to Brazil, stopping by in New York for shopping and sight seeing. We needed a place to store all of our shopping while we went to Brazil, and found Gotham storage close to our hotel - the team at Gotham went well above and beyond our expectations! The facility is top notch, in a great location and with tight security controls in place, we had no concerns about how safe our belongings would be while we were away. Adam G helped set us up in no time at all, the process was quick and easy, even though we were tourists and didn't have a lot of the required information, Adam was great at walking us through the sign up process, and the team at Gotham even gave us hints and tips on the best spots to see in New York while we were there - the entire experience was incredibly positive and pleasant. The great thing was that the storage locker was affordable and had much more space than we needed, if I was a local in need of a place to store my belongings, without a doubt Gotham would be my first choice. On our return to New York, we had some issues accessing our storage locker (due to us forgetting our password!) - it was right on closing time and we had our flight home the next day. We thought we would have to come back the next day, however Jonathan F went above and beyond with his customer service, he was able to open our locker for us, settle our account and give us some more tips on things to do for the night that we were there! The great thing was that he remembered us from our first visit to Gotham - the level of customer service here is exceptional, the staff provide a very personal experience to all customers. I am delighted to give my first Yelp Review about Gotham Mini Storage. I am recently moving from Long Island to New Jersey and needed a storage unit to hold my apartment furnishings until the new apartment is ready. I discovered Gotham Mini Storage after doing a Google Search Review of the best Manhattan Storage companies. I needed a unit close to my job in Manhattan that I could easily access. Jonathan, who is one of Gotham Mini Storage Representatives recommended and showed a few storage units. I was impressed and returned the next week to obtain a unit. My plan was to rent a truck and move all my belongings to the storage unit. Upon explaining my situation to the store manger, Adam, he organized to have one their employees, Enrique to drive their Moving Van (A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Minibus) to my apartment so that I could move my items to the storage unit. This was a life saver since they usually only provide this service within the city. I received a free hour of service and paid a small fee for the additional hour that was needed. Having a driver was valuable since I did not have to go through the hassle of renting my own truck and paying for insurance. The storage facility is clean and secure. They provide Hand Trucks, Dollies & Hand Truck Pallets for your convenience. They also sell packing supplies on site. They do not have problems with people using the storage unit as a sleeping facility since access is between 8 am - 7 pm. The staff at Gotham Mini Storage (Jonathan, Adam, Victoria & Enrique) are professional, courteous and provide the best customer service. I give them the highest rating (5 Stars) and recommend that you come for a visit! read more

If I could give 6 stars to Gotham Storage I would! I own a business and I have been a customer of Manhattan Mini Storage for years. What a waste after discovering this place! First of all I got a better rate with the same amount of space in a better location, free van to move in and a climate control floor. I love that for being a storage building it's SOOOO CLEAN!!! They have carpet floors and they keep it always very tidy, it looks more like a hotel than a storage building. They also have massive elevators that could fit two cargo vans so there is never an issue of space. At Manhattan Mini Storage I had to take trips up and down the elevator to fit all my stuff at Gotham I don't have that issue anymore! Since I own a business I know the importance of customer service and how hard it is to find good employees. Gotham Mini Storage has an incredibly friendly and competent staff. They always smile and they go out of their way to accommodate you. If I were the owner of Gotham MS I would make sure nobody steals the current team because they are a big reason why I am giving 5 stars + to this place! They are all nice but I got outstanding customer service on different and separate occasions from Fernando, Adam and Enrique. I am so happy I moved to this place and I can't recommend it enough. To be concise, this place is as great as the people who work in it. The prices are not only affordable, but cheap considering how incredibly clean, well secured, and simply easily accessible the building is. The prices on good quality boxes and locks and packing supplies are great. They were so kind and helpful, even going beyond to help come to pick up my stuff with a van, fitting us in to an already full schedule in the most accommodating and kind way possible. We showed up on our last day of moving out of New York, the place was already closed but it would've been a disaster for us if we could've gotten out last few things into the unit, but they were incredibly kind and made an exception and saved our butts big time. They also have a policy which gives you the first month for free, as well as very affordable options for insurance on your items. Our unit turned out to be the perfect size for our things and we couldn't be happier or more pleased with a business seeing as how many mediocre ones there are in NYC that try to rip you off or misrepresent themselves. read more

Please be advised that Gotham Mini Storage tolerates Homophobic Verbal Assault from Fernando the Manager to us when we needed assistance. Fernando referred to me as a F***en F***t numerous times and was PROUD to confirm the homophobic slurs he said to me when I was making a statement to the NYPD. That occurred on Saturday June 16,2018. I have yet to hear from anyone at Gotham in regards to this horrendous violation of my human rights to address the situation and it is now Sunday June 24. Hateful acts like this regarding the LGBT community by a Manager should not be tolerated. But Gotham Mini Storage does tolerate intimidating the LGBT community. It is 2018 and in NYC acts of human rights violation like what Fernando did should not be occurring and the company act like nothing has happened. The secret is going to come out anyway so I might as well announce it. Gotham Mini Storage is the best storage facility in Manhattan! (I've stored for over 5 years in other places and recently did a tour of all of them to see the latest.) Here's why: It's new. It's clean. It's temperature controlled ( all your stuff is better kept by not freezing and cooking it - believe me ). The hallways are carpeted ! The whole place is bright. My roll up doors are full size and light - easy up and down. All the staff are professional and friendly and helpful. But if you're in a fix or need some extra special problem solved I worked with the manager Dayna. She helped me and got it done so quickly I grabbed a second spot. Last but far from the least - the prices are better then the most ugly dirty storage place and much better than the well known decent storage places. From the minute I called Gotham to reserve a storage space, they were awesome. The past couple weeks have been crazy stressful for me with moving/leases/renewals, so Gotham's team was just what I needed - they kept everything simple, happily answered all of my questions, worked with me to get the right sized space, explained all fees upfront without being sneaky about extra charges like other places do, and basically just kept the whole process as stress-free as possible. This storage facility is everything you could want for the needs it serves..Clean,, large elevators,, airt conditioned,,music playing over speakers on the unit floors,,very nice and helpful staff and affordable for Manhattan location in Mid town....I gave only four stars for one draw back that is a burden to me personally and thats the hours they operate,,I would like to see later operating hours..They close too early particulary on weekends when most folks like myself only have the chance to get there..During the week I need to leave my day job early in order to travel by public transportation to make it on time before closing hours..Not all of your renters as I'm sure you are aware of just pack furniture there for a month while moving,,majority of us run business and store inventory and supplies and need more flexibilty on time access. read more

I am in the process of moving to New York & needed to find a place to store several things before beginning my move. I found Gotham through their reviews & thank goodness I did! Susan was SO INCREDIBLY helpful & patient in explaining the process, fees etc. I couldn't have been more relieved. The moving process will not officially begin until June, but I feel so much better knowing that Susan will be there at Gotham to help me! So I don't really ever write a review but I must say Tanya deserves this review about her. She is so kind and very patient she really makes you feel comfortable and can answer every question you ask. Not once did I feel like I was annoying her with every question I had lol and the fact that she took me to every unit I wanted to see with no problem really showed me she cared about my personal need in a unit and making sure her customer is happy. This is the finest self storage in Manhattan. Not only is it clean and safe but everything including the elevators operate like clockwork. Their attention to each and every client is amazing and their prices are fair and reasonable. Their staff is warm and attentive and there has never been an issue with the building or the personnel. Located on the west side of Manhattan the yellow building is easily identified. Most amazing is their inside parking where loading and unloading takes place. I recommend Gotham Mini to any person needing self storage for a short or long term period. Even their Mercedes Sprinter van is impressive. Any prior negative review is obviously not from a current or past tenant because there is nothing to complain about. I only wish they would open another on the East side of Manhattan. read more

I'm having a great experience with Gotham mini-storage. I got an amazingly good deal on a storage locker and the staff (Dayna, Adam, Jonathon) could not be more helpful. The facility (a big neon yellow building at 40th St and 10th Ave) is clean, well designed, and a pleasure to visit. They have two massive elevators to access the storage floors. There's even a pickup service where they'll come and get you and your stuff when you want to move it in. I don't rave about many businesses but Gotham deserves a pat on the back for being so being so friendly, well-run, and such good value. I guess Gotham is the new young upstart storage company in Manhattan and they are trying very hard to win customers and make a name for themselves. if you need storage in Manhattan I highly recommend you give them a call. read more

I'm shocked to hear about their homophobic atmosphere given that this particular location is in one of NYC's gay neighborhoods (Hell's Kitchen). It is our moral responsibility to take a stand against Discrimination and bigotry and denounce those who promote to send a clear message to our children that that type of behavior has no place in a civil modern world society. I was in a real bind with leaving school, looking for an apartment and having no money. I had only heard of Gotham from a few people but I checked them out. They gave me a great deal on a unit that fit all of my stuff from my school dorm and an amazing deal on boxes and a lock for my unit. I was only renting for about 2 months but that 2 months was the best experience I have ever had with a storage facility. They remembered me by face and name after not being in there for 2 months. Definitely Gotham Storage is the storage you want to use! First of all, the staff is incredibly nice and friendly. You can sense a very warm and cordial culture in that place. Second, the rates are the best in Manhattan- there is a special student discount! After, I was escorted to see my unit, I realized that it was on the second level meaning I would have to actually lift my huge heavy boxes to get them inside but as soon as I asked about the floor level (which is supposed to be more expensive), I was kindly offered the same rate.
