I waited to write this review until I felt I could verify the company's claims for service and monitoring the health and performance of the system--and after a year and a half I feel comfortable evaluating the company. Far from over selling the technology, Bob & Mark recommended not over building our system---and this advice was right on point. Furthermore, their installation was professionally done, on time, and on budget. And it is performing just as they had projected. The ongoing monitoring and support has been outstanding! Just two examples: 1. About a year into the life of the system, we received an unsolicited call from Mark asking if we had shut the system down, because it had just stopped functioning. Within an hour he had done the trouble shooting and traced it back to PG&E---an unanticipated power fluctuation on the incoming line. The safety systems in the system shut it down and automatically rebooted itself and we were back up generating power. While there was nothing wrong with the system and it performed as designed, believe them when they say they continue to monitor and supervise their installations. They mean it. 2. We recently had a power outage at the house, related as it turns out to charging an electric car. I called Mark because I didn't know who else to call for help. This had nothing to do with the solar installation and although he had no accountability or responsibility for the outage, Mark was at the house within an hour, getting a faulty breaker replaced. He had us up and running again by that afternoon. I've had a lot of experience with contractors, and I have never had such attentive service by such knowledgeable and responsible people. 5 Stars!! read more

Had a 16 panel project installed by Go Simple last week, and can honestly say I have never worked with a better construction company. Mark and Bob are truly perfectionists, and compliment each other completely to make Go Simple the GO TO solar installer. Once the contract work was completed with Mark, Bob takes over, and in a big way! He was always on time, available for any and all questions, and there were many. He was always friendly, professional, and one of the most conscientious construction manager I have ever worked with. I had many quotes for this project, and did not go with the low bid, and I have zero regrets. Bob was the only representative to actually go on the roof to determine the best placement of the arrays. Because of the roof space available, we determined that there would be 2 arrays consisting of 1-12 panel array, and 1-4 panel array. The 2 arrays would be separated by about 20 feet. Bob arrived, on time, at every critical step in the construction: delivery of the equipment (he opened ever packet to determine everything was on site), first time the roofers and electricians arrived, he directed them as to what was needed. It was clear that Bob, as an architect and house builder had done this many times, and I could see his experience at every step of this project. When final inspection was due, Bob again was on time, provided the inspector access to the panels and the inspector could see what a professional install this was, and signed off the project in a matter of minutes. My system was up and running in 3 days, and I couldn't be happier. If your contemplating a solar install, do yourself a favor and get a quote from Mark and Bob at GoSimple Solar. read more

We live and Danville and I first discovered Go Simple Solar since I drive past their office/showroom nearly every day. My wife and I decided to choose Go Simple Solar based on their selling approach vs. the bigger names in home solar in the area. Others tried a hard sell approach, offering "specials" on equipment and trying to lock us into an agreement before sending an engineer to do a site survey. Mark Becker and Bob Libby took a different approach. First they asked a lot of great questions about our usage and energy saving goals and other factors important for our installation (what kind of panels, roof location, etc.). Next, Bob came out to do a site survey and followed up with a detailed proposal with cost and energy production estimates. Their costs were lower than the other companies' "specials" and provided a higher estimated energy production. There was absolutely no hard-sell throughout the entire vetting and contract process. They started construction a week earlier than they had originally estimated (how often does that happen with a contractor), and it took only 2 and 1/2 days to complete. Since installation in late July our system production has out-perfomed their proforma estimate by 18%, again, greatly exceeding expectations. Needless to say, we are very pleased and strongly recommend Go Simple Solar! read more

This is an update to my previous review. My original one seems to have disappeared. It said: 5.0 star rating 8/28/2015 I'm a difficult customer. I do my research and know what I want and how much to pay for it. I can't tell you how many other solar companies I talked with before stumbling upon GoSimpleSolar. It was great to find such a group of knowledgeable people. When I explained what I wanted; they understood. My situation required a major upgrade to the electrical service panel and sub-panel. It required 6 arrays to generate the wattage I was looking for. The team at GoSimpleSolar worked with me to design a system that met my desires. Once I said "Go" they were on it. They dealt with the County permitting process, PG&E, and the suppliers. My system was up and running in no time. Top notch work and thorough follow up. I can highly recommend GoSimpleSolar for your solar needs 5.0 star rating 05/24/2016 I've had over a year with with system and have had ample time to find any issues with the install. There are none, in fact, when I look at the details of their installation I being impressed with them. Many homes in my neck of the woods have been fitted with a solar system and I can tell from the street who's system was installed by professionals and whose wasn't. read more

Since we are out of their service area, for a small fee, GoSimpleSolar completely designed our solar system and provided the guidance necessary for another vetted contractor to install it. GoSimpleSolar was able to very efficiently gather the data from us so they could model an appropriately sized solar PV system for our home.   After the receipt of the data on our home, Mark vetted another proposal I had received, and made a professional judgement that the proposed system size was too large concerning our circumstances and power usage. If Mark would've accepted working in our area (3 hours away) we would've been thrilled to have GoSimpleSolar perform the work. We're very happy with their diligence and I believe that having their third party design ensured a proper design and not an oversized one which would've cost more money upfront. Highly recommended for installation or for their design services. We want to install solar in our vacation home and we intend to use GoSimpleSolar to design that system as well. Mark and the staff at GoSimpleSolar were professional, efficient, knowledgable, friendly, and extremely easy to work with. I wish all business owners were as diligent as Mark and his staff at GoSimpleSolar! read more

GoSimpleSolar installed a system at my house and I highly recommend them. Fantastic project! GoSimple has a very detailed process to get you from start to finish. What you are really buying is the expertise in not just solar panels and inverters, but a very deep and integrated knowledge base about all issues solar and electric. This knowledge base presents itself everywhere in the build process and even after the sale. From the start you'll be impressed. Excellent site analysis and project planning, timely work. Fantastic financial analysis - this is a big investment. Construction wise, you're getting a top quality build, with materials that will last. The workmanship and problem solving by the electricians and roofers is first rate. If you demand detail-oriented construction, you will like these guys. I especially want to thank Aaron, the project site supervisor, who always seemed to be acting like my second set of eyes, making sure every detail was right. In the end, I felt like they delivered what they promised, and I could trust them - integrity. My solar has been cranking out the kilowatts for months now - going strong. Thank you GoSimpleSolar! read more

Solar connectivity made easy: Go with the best team in the industry today. Bob and Mark, along with their electrical subcontractor, out-performed one's expectations with an outstanding quality system. The entire process was made easy starting with Bob's arrival, his assessment of our needs, sizing and pricing the system, explaining the technical aspects of solar, pros and cons of owning and leasing. The team continued their outstanding performance with daily communication on all aspects of the project from initiating building permits, placing the equipment on order, the city's continuing review progress, receipt of permits and the start work date. There was very timely follow-through with supplier issues to maintain schedule. Our system is a 6.25 kW, hillside mount in Fremont. Come by and see what a great job these guys have done. It's a pleasure to recommend this team for their technical knowledge and business skills. Indeed, it was a pleasure doing business with this very mature and personable team. I am impressed with their professionalism and their dedication to the customer's satisfaction. read more

Go Simply Solar? Simply THE BEST! I engaged them after meeting Mark at a dinner party with some friends. Had already signed up with a well known provider and only mentioned I was doing a solar installation at the very end of the evening. Mark engaged me in the next couple of days and I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism which far outstripped the folks I had been engaged with at several other companies, so I decided to let Semper Fidelis do the job and cancelled my other contract. Couldn't be happier with the decision. Mark was great in working with me to develop the overall plan and Bob was a consummate professional on the detailed work plan and installation. You couldn't ask for a better contractor. I have 29 panels installed and they are great. I did have a micro inverter fail after several months (not their fault), and they handled that too without and real incovenience on my part. Superb job! Great service. Hearily recommended. read more

I unfortunately was in the process of getting solar installed by Heliopower. They started the installation and I was confused about where they placed the array and how they were anchoring it (this is a ground mount). A friend had had installation by Mark and Go Simple. I called him up, he came out and looked at the job Heliopower was doing and had a number of criticisms: wrong place, wrong direction and the posts they had sunk were entirely off grade and not to code. Mark really helped me understand how the array was supposed to be set up how the contract was supposed to be written. He never charged me for all his time. I REALLY regret not having his company do the install. Mark is a really honest, very straightforward and very helpful man. If I had it all to do over again, I would certainly call this company. I have had some problems with the inverter Heliopower installed and am on the verge of caller Mark having him re-do the system. read more

GoSimple Solar installed my solar array on 9-14-12, about six months ago. To this date, everything is operating as advertised or better. I am particular about having anyone work on my home as I am more than capable to do my own work including additions to the house. In this case I was looking over their shoulder the entire time they were here. These guys were precise in their planning and execution. They promised delivery of materials on a certain day and it was. They promised completion of the job in three days and it was. They promised a certain level of performance of the system and the system performs better than promised. They promised to leave the job site clean after they were finished and it was neat as a pin when they left. The use of American made products was very important to me. I am proud to recommend Mark Becker and Bob Libby of GoSimple Solar. read more

Last summer we installed a full solar system using Mark and the team from Go Simple Solar. We extensively searched for suppliers and bid our project to multiple companies. In the end we settled on Go Simple because their bid was competitive, their staff friendly and professional and the referrals were outstanding. We were not disappointed! Every aspect of this job was on time and on budget. Their team worked with us to make sure we understood how to best utilize our new system and our economic benefits have been outstanding. We felt very comfortable with the installation team and found them to be polite and professional. The savings have been exceptional here, everything was as promised. I found Mark to be straightforward and focused on under promising and over delivering, setting realistic expectations and meeting them. read more

This company is one of the most professional, honest, and detail oriented organizations I have had the pleasure of working with. I interviewed four different solar contractors and just had a good feeling about Semper Fidelis Construction. The quality of their work justified my initial impressions of them. They completed my solar project, on time, on budget, and even worked with several of my neighbors who were concerned about how the solar would look within the neighborhood. Semper Fidelis Construction went above and beyond typical efforts in placating the neighbors regarding the final appearance of the solar panels and put everyone's concerns at rest by patiently walking everyone through the plans and look of the final array. You will be very satisfied with your solar project if you use Semper Fidelis Construction. read more

I have been using yelp for years, my first yelp review goes to Go Simple Solar. They are local, I got a very clear information to start with. These guys are responding fast, get job done fast too with a great quality, i have zero problem since they turned on the Solar at early September. They really work like a team, Mark, Bob, Steve, Mike .. each of them has their role in this whole process and each of them are so professional and easy to work with. I have tried to install the solar in my house since year 20010, called a few big companies, never got a clear information or response, installing solar sounds so complicated to me until I found Go simple solar -- really simple. What a joke, this company is 3 miles from my home and I didn't find them until 2013 .... Strongly recommend, absolutely 5 star! read more

Getting a solar system could be very overwhelming, once you start looking for a comapny, you will get inundated with calls and emails. I stumbled across a Go Simple Solar sign in my neighborhood so I called. I found their approach very respectful and easy. Within days, we had a plan, and estimate and a signed contract. The installation was seamless, they did everything and very well. No damages, no surprises, just high quality service. Being local affords you a change to stop by and talk to them anytime. If you want solar, this is the way to get it. Thomas was instrumental in sizing the right set up, number of panels and layout. After all, he is Swiss. .... Nonetheless, all the individuals I dealt with, including the roofer were great. read more

GoSimpleSolar installed our solar panels and they have been an AMAZING company to work with! Every part of the process was super smooth, quick and flawless. Everyone at the company is extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and incredibly efficient. They did everything for us and made the whole process completely stress-free! Months later PG&E dropped the ball on our rate change and GoSimpleSolar contacted them immediately and had PG&E correct our account retroactively! I recommended GOSIMPLESOLAR to friends who ended up choosing them for their solar install and they too had a flawless & outstanding experience. We have VERY HIGH standards for our service providers and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to everyone. read more

Mark Becker and Bob Libby showed us uncompromising integrity and honesty through our entire solar project, beginning with sharing open and honest information about size, costs and payback. They never tired of our unending questions and answered every one in plain English with an eye towards our ultimate satisfaction of the solar implementation project. They are a great team and I would recommend them to anyone. With regards to the project itself, once we decided on the size of the array, the entire hardware was installed in less than 3 days, one day in advance of the promised delivery time, with absolutely no interruption of our every day life. I recommend Go Simple Solar with my highest rating. read more

GoSimpleSolar, California Roofing, Mike the Electrician, Aaron the coordinator-everyone involved did what the said they were going to do, on time, efficiently, cleaned up after work each day -and everyone involved was pleasant -what a enjoyable experience. We've had our new roof and solar system short of a year and it has been producing exactly as calculated and has been meeting our needs and then some. All questions were answered before, during and even now in dealing with a new electricity provider in Lafayette. We highly recommend GoSimpleSolar to install any system-we only wish they did home remodels!! Phil & Lovelle read more

This is an update from an actual customer on my previous review of GoSimpleSolar and the work they completed for me in April 2015. My system is still producing beyond my original expectations and has been worry-free. If you are looking for a company that will provide a comprehensive review of all the information you provide, listen to any initial concerns you may have and address them or any additional as installation proceeds; a company that works only with licensed professional installers and utilizes cutting edge components - then I highly recommend you reach out to GoSimpleSolar today. read more

This is an update to my past review. My solar system is working perfectly as we are in our third year. I had a minor problem with the communications reporting to my computer (not a problem with solar generation). After trying to figure it out myself to no avail, I called them and they responded immediately and did everything possible to get me back on track so I could see how much energy my panels were generating. Its great to find a company that responds and helps. Also, the service technician was extremely polite, and knowledgeable. Five stars. read more
