I ordered for delivery through UberEats for lunch because they had a great deal - 3 traditional rolls with miso soup for less than $15! I tried the golden California, crunch spicy salmon, and the mini Godzilla. They tasted fresh and were delicious. The miso soup also had a lot of flavor. I've ordered delivery from the Western location many times, and it's always fast, cheap, and consistently fresh tasting. I've never had what seemed to be leftover sushi rice, which has been the case with a couple other sushi places around Lincoln Square/Ravenswood. I was a little concerned when ordering the first time, due to Gorilla Sushi being a (local?) chain, but the one on Western has been reliably good. read more

Definitely the best sushi in Chicago by far. Got this takeout style and were able to order all our favorite classic rolls, which have been surprisingly difficult to find elsewhere. The flavors were there, as were the texture and the temperature (seriously, so many other places were serving the fish lukewarm) and the wasabi was the right color (which I understand is kind of stupid, but it was important for me). It wasn't too pricey and they prepared our order rather quickly. They were friendly when we picked it up. It wasn't "impressive" but it was definitely a very solid sushi place. So, I'm back writing a new review. They finally have hours that match online to when they're actually open, and the staff is efficient and friendly. Once you're seated they take your order and service is pretty quick, even with the huge amounts of delivery orders and take out orders that they get. While there, Grub Hub and Uber Eats came in multiple times, but I still got waited on as I would if I were the only person in the restaurant. The food is delicious for the price you pay. Definitely my new go to sushi place. Ambiance is cozy and friendly. Definitely a good neighborhood place to frequent several times a month. Satisfies my sushi cravings for sure. If ordering under $15 you must pay cash, but otherwise, credit and debit are accepted. Amex is the only card that's not currently accepted, but Apple Pay is available, and I'm fine with that. My original review wasn't about ambiance or food quality, but about lack of consistency with business hours. That has now been remedied, so I'm able to give them a much deserved thumbs up! read more

I could not be happier with my delivery from Gorilla Sushi! My pandemic birthday dinner wish was all the sushi I could eat delivered to my couch and Gorilla Sushi made it happen. Lots of specialty rolls keep things interesting and the sashimi was delicious, too. Everything tasted great and my boyfriend and I agreed it was some of the best sushi we've had delivered (and there have been a lot of occasions). My favorite part was the price! Rolls and sashimi were very affordable and 4-piece rolls around $4 each allowed us to sample many, many rolls without committing to 6+ pieces of each variety. Delivery was on time and the food was packaged well to prevent spills and destruction. (They even saran-wrapped the soy sauce cups!) I can't wait for another occasion to order. It's in a small building so it's kind of hard to see. Popped in for sushi after I missed a reservation with my friends and if I had to compare where my friends reserved and where I ate, this place would definitely come out on top. I got a good old fashioned warm green tea, some edamame, miso soup (obviously), and an assortment of sushi. When I tell you that this was good, I mean it was GOOD!! The sushi with the fish eggs on it (forgot the name) is amazing! The eggs just pop in your mouth with flavor! The staff are very nice too. When I told them my dietary needs they were extra helpful and pointed out EVERYTHING I should avoid. 10/10 I'd come here again if I were closer! read more
