Incredible sushi rolls, best crab rangoon in all of Chicagoland, and BYOB! Highly recommend this Lincoln Square treasure.

I came here with my friends and thought the food was pretty good. It was on the pricey side but pretty unique. There was a roll with mango on it, which I've never tried before. It was also a cozy spot. The one thing that annoyed me was that the waitress had her kid hanging around, and the kid had a cold and kept coughing in the open air, which is completely unhygienic in my opinion and unacceptable. If you have a sushi restaurant, you need to at least be masked so you don't spread illnesses to your customers. I'm pretty sure I got cold after coming here.

Look how much sushi we got for like 30 something dollars. I forgot the name of this combination but it was phenomenal. The waitress was sweet and got slammed toward closing but handled well and was very efficient

So it was Mother's Day and my son told me we could have dinner anywhere. I picked rolls and bowls, a neighborhood staple in Lincoln Square. Dining in for the first time in two years was a pleasure. They owner was so welcoming when we walked in. It's a laid back atmosphere where you can enjoy your dinner at your leisure, and what a delicious dinner! We started with California rolls, followed by shrimp and veggie tempura as appetizers (I should forward you the tempura was partially devoured before I remembered a picture!) Delicious miso soup followed. I had the chicken teriyaki plate, and my hubby had the spicy pork. We also had a beef bowl. Everything was delicious. The portions were generous (which is great for lunch the next day). They have a large takeout business. Always a great meal!

Overall: A surprising, yet amazing, casual Asian dining experience. The good: The food here was incredible, even though it's not doing anything out of the ordinary. I had a chicken teriyaki bowl and my girlfriend had the chicken udon, but both were flavor-packed and fulfilling. The teriyaki sauce was laid on thick to perfectly grilled chicken, and the udon broth was phenomenal along with the noodles within. And, it seems small, but the miso soup paired with the rice bowl was phenomenal. It shouldn't go without mention that our server was friendly and attentive as well. The not-so-good: We got "bubble tea", which was really just smoothies with tapioca in them (our waitress warned it wasn't really bubble tea). They weren't mentioned on the menu but they are available, but mine was unfortunately too watery (girlfriend's was perfect). Food/drinks: 9.5/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9.5/10

I order to go all the time and it has been my saving grace during CoVID. They are always so sweet and very prompt. I usually order for pickup later in the day and it's always ready right when I arrive. Best flavor combinations, really high quality fish...just the best. Covid precautions right now are that you wait in the vestibule and they place the food on a table near the entry. Very clean and wiped down.

I started searching for new sushi places in Lincoln Square with Sushi Tokoro being temporarily closed for a long time and Rolls N Bowls is now my new favorite sushi place in Lincoln Square. I've ordered carryout two times here and I found the sushi to be great! Prices are competitive and the portion sizes are big, which make it a good bang for your buck unlike Miku Sushi down the street. The sushi is better quality than Sushi Tokoro, but Sushi Tokoro is still the best AYCE sushi joints I've had in the city. I'm a big fan of the nigiri plate, which I found to be very fresh and very filling. All of their rolls are super creative especially the Love Roll! My favorite rolls so far are the Love Roll and the Mexican Roll. The Mexican Roll was actually pretty spicy and I love spicy food. My second order from them was about 40 minutes late as the employees opened late, but they gave me free miso soup for the inconvenience. I haven't dined in as they are carryout only during the pandemic, but the place is BYOB and it looks super small. They probably only have about 6 tables and can maybe seat about 20 people. Service has been solid even with the long wait time and I look to order more sushi from them in the future.

Downloaded yelp just to review this business. It was incredible. We ordered the Bulgogi (amazing), Miso soup, Spicy Ramen, and Arizona roll. The roll was so good we impulsively ordered a second. This is a family owned business and they were so kind and fun to talk to. Even though it was our first time, it felt like we were regulars. They told us that all of their sauces are homemade (except the soy sauce) and that they make them with allergens in mind so as to keep it as inclusive as possible. We're only in town for a couple of days but we will be back to try more of the sushi!! Thank you for the incredible food.

Loooooove Rolls N Bowls. The sushi has been delicious every time we've ordered (dine in and take out) I love the option to build your own sushi roll, my partner and I are hooked on ordering tempura broccoli maki. The staff is incredibly friendly. The last time we went they warned of a little wait time because of take out orders (we were the only people dining in) but the wait was normal for everything being made fresh and in house (they make all of their dressings and sauces in house too) Highly recommend. Also love that they're byob.

This place has great sushi and bowls, but it was not the main draw. We came because we were looking for a decent place to grab a bite while we waited 30 minutes for an order at a nearby business. During our search, we learned this was BYOB so we quickly decided to check it out. Once we arrived in front, we discovered parking is limited. For car babies like myself, this can be skittle nerve racking but I can assure you it's well worth it.

My not so good fish, and bf's pretty good spider roll
    Tian Y.

What an adorable little sushi place! Although they're definitely not a RAMEN place. Apparently bf's yelp gave him Rolls n bowls when I asked to find a ramen place closer than Wasabi...? How misleading! :( I did not get to have my ramen that night. They had some ramen items on the menu, but apparently one of them was just shin ramyun based on reviews? I couldn't risk trying the other ones. We had a decent meal anyhow though. I was excited about getting sushi, and they looked great! But my fish were fibrous and couldn't be chewed?! I've literally never had fish like that before. Like it was hard to chew them apart and swallow, which is the opposite of what I expected... Based on that I wouldn't considering coming here for sushi again. I did like the yakisoba and bf enjoyed his tempura udon. They were both pretty decent sized portions and very tasty. Silly me always thought yakisoba would taste just like chinese lo mein and would never measure up to my mom's, but the sauce is sweet/tangy/savory but not overwhelming... very interesting. I'll be getting it more often from now on at places I think! The staff was very nice. The decor is really cozy, and the place is pretty small, which makes the place very comforting. However, based on the fish I dunno if I'd come back again. There are plenty of mediocre sushi places that serve better fish than that...

I could taste that they were handmade and very flavorful. Second was the charcoal half chicken. The coconut rice was had a light coconut flavor which was good bc it didnt alter the taste of the chicken. I'd skip on the salad and minced beef noodles next time. The noodles were a lil too thick n chewy for me. Salad was nothings special, just eating large chunks of cabbage. The Sparrow Mallorc was also really good and refreshing, not overly sweet. The egg tarts had a creamy delicious custard and the dough was fluffy like a croissant, not crisp like pie. I prefer crisp but would still recommend. I also got the chai carrot cake which is really good. The chai spice compliments the sweetness well and walnut chunks add nice texture . I want to try all their desserts at Bird Bird Bakery bc the flavors are so unique and actually really good, unlike other bakeries that try to use interesting flavors but make it overly sweet. The staff were chill and kind. Pretty laid back, you have to get your own utensils and water. I do love that they have their own hot sauces. The brown one with tamarind was my favorite. Nice decos, not overly showy or fancy. Still family friendly n chill. The bench had nice comfy cushions.

Pictures matter. I was looking for a great date-night spot…read morein the Chicago, Wicker Park/Milwaukee area, somewhere close to entertainment, and after walking past the "soup dumplings" sign a few times, I finally decided to try Bigsuda at 1362 N. Milwaukee Ave. The green awning and outdoor seating had always caught my eye, so I was excited to finally go in. The interior is beautiful, warm greens, gold accents, and comfortable booth-style seating that makes it easy to settle in and stay awhile. The staff was attentive, friendly, and consistently checked in throughout the night. Bigsuda is a Korean fusion restaurant. I love Korean food and have even spent time living in Korea, so I was curious to see their take. The menu is descriptive and does include some illustrations, and I later noticed there are more photos available online, which can be helpful when deciding what to order. One thing to note: the menu leans heavily on pork, and vegetarian options are somewhat limited. Some dishes can be modified (like ordering fried rice without shrimp), but several broths and signature items, including the soup dumplings, are pork-based. As someone who doesn't eat pork, I wasn't able to try one of the main dishes I came in for, which was a bit disappointing. Expanding options here could make the experience more inclusive. Here's what we ordered: Cabbage Tofu Pocket - Fresh, earthy, and clean. The cabbage had a nice juiciness, and the sauce tied everything together well. It's served cold, which was unexpected, but still enjoyable. Pan-Seared Veggie Mandoo - A fun presentation, served upside down with a crisp, pancake-like crust. Breaking into it was part of the experience, and the sauce complemented it nicely. Wok-Fired Steak Saltado - The standout of the night. The steak and rice paired really well and leaned into that Korean-fusion flavor. It was hearty, flavorful, and great for sharing. My friend also tried the shrimp dumplings and crab with chili sauce, which she felt were just okay. One highlight for both of us was the Peach Mong (a non-alcoholic drink with peach, citrus, and tonic), definitely worth trying. Overall, Bigsuda really shines in its atmosphere. It's a great place to sit, talk, and enjoy the ambiance, and the service adds to that experience. While the food didn't completely wow us across the board, there were definitely some strong moments. I had a great time overall, and with a few more inclusive menu options, this place could easily level up even more. 3 out of 5 stars.

I'd describe this place as pretty hipster and cozy. As for the food, I think it's pretty standard Thai food for its price. To my surprise, the standout dish was the papaya salad. I also realllly enjoyed pad Thai, probably my favorite Thai entrees. Definitely 10/10 too. I unfortunately do not recommend the fried chicken dish we recommended because it was dry, and sauce didn't help it.
