The gyro meat was soft and tasty but on the salty side. The Hummus was good especially topped with the chili sauce and pita. Chili sauce tasted like chili and salsa mixed together; added a little spice and slight sweetness. Pita was soft, fluffy inside and toasty grilled outside. The salad has a vinaigrette dressing which had sweet citrus flavor; complemented the other items on the plate. The Basmati rice was yummy, with butter flavor. The Falafel was soft almost fluffy inside vs dense. The outer fried layer had a nutty taste with cumin with slight spicy flavor. The Beek Kabab was ok. A bit tough but good seasoning. Also a bit expensive for $21 with only about 5 pieces of beef chunks. The Cheeseburger was ok. They had the self serve water cooler by the window so it doesn't really stay cold because it's directly hit by the sun. Good place to get food to go. You order using the kiosk tablet. They brought the food pretty quickly.

Service: Workers were friendly Ambiance: Multiple businesses seem to operate in this one building. Inside felt like a high-end restaurant; there was nice outdoor seating. There are kiosks to order. Chicken shawarma combo $14 (5/5): So far, the best shawarma I've had. I've had plenty of homemade Mediterranean food, and it tasted just on par. Chicken was tender, moist, well charred. Flavors were fantastic. Fries were thick-cut. The pepperroncini was a nice touch. The combo came with fries and a mini soda can. Can definitely split with 2 people, the wrap is huge. Definitely would come back again!

A new favorite in downtown Sunnyvale!…read more I travel to the area for work and have visited downtown Sunnyvale a few times, but somehow, I'd never made it to Mayak Kitchen. I'm so glad I finally did! I grabbed a seat outside, and my server was over very quickly. Even though they were closing in about 45 minutes, I never once felt rushed or like I was an inconvenience. (Honestly, had I known they were closing that soon, I probably would have chosen somewhere else because I know how frustrating that can be for a restaurant!) The service was welcoming, and I really appreciated that. A carafe of water with fresh lemon and mint was brought to the table, which was a lovely touch. And after a long day of flying across the country, I decided to treat myself to a Jamaica margarita. No regrets there! not overly sweet like margaritas tend to be. For dinner, I went with the cochinita pibil, and WOW. I've had a version of this dish back home at one of the few authentic Mexican restaurants in the Cleveland area, but this was a completely different experience. Of course, different regions bring their own flavors and preparations, and this was a delicious reminder of that. The pork was incredibly flavorful and so tender, and the rice was packed with flavor in a way that complemented the pork perfectly rather than competing with it. Every part of the dish worked together beautifully. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying several other things on the menu that caught my attention. Mayak Kitchen definitely made a great first impression, and I'm happy I finally gave it a try! If you're in downtown Sunnyvale and looking for somewhere new to eat, put this one on your list!

Everything was perfectly prepared, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The customer service was also excellent--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I love that their dishes contain 40 grams of protein, making this a great option for anyone looking for a nutritious, protein-packed meal without sacrificing flavor. I highly recommend this place, and I'll definitely be back! You feel very welcome here.

They definitely have tasty food and friendly service. Of note, I've also tried this restaurant in…read morethe past as part of a large catering order in SF. A few things are somewhat confusing to me. 1. The amount of protein is unclear. When you order at this location at the kiosk, it says 40g, whereas the online menu (at holyshred.co) says 51g, for example (shredded chicken noodle). Honestly, the portion size of the shredded chicken seemed about half of that. The other item we ordered, charcoal-grilled BBQ salad, seemed like an accurate portion size. Both were listed as ~40g protein, but the BBQ chicken salad was much larger. 2. I added a side of the BBQ peppered tofu, for $4.95, and I got 7 small pieces of tofu, so the portion size was disappointing. The flavors were fine, had a kick of spiciness, to make it interesting. 3. They do have items listed as containing wheat, eggs, fish, shellfish, milk, peanut, and soybeans. But it is unclear whether the fish sauce is gluten-free. They only have it listed under 'fish' allergen, and they weren't sure when I inquired specifically, so I would avoid if you have true celiac. The ordering process is simple and straightforward. There are different combinations of meats (crispy, shredded, or BBQ chicken), carbs (rice, noodles), and salads. You'll be able to find something that you like. They also have a wide assortment of sauces to try, and you have the option to add more. There are also plenty of tables if you want to sit and dine in. Parking is along the side of the building, there is a small lot.

I'm not sure what their white sauce is made of, but it's the perfect combination of savory, creamy, and sour (pickle?)--they should bottle and sell it!
