This place used to be awesome, been going here for 30+ years. Used to be great service and all sorts of variety. We went in today, they got rid of a ton of stuff and the service was not good. The girl who took our order couldn't have been more disinterested in helping us out, she just wanted to be off work (I assume, or she hates her job and people). It was not busy, 2 people in line in front of us when we walked in. Goodys used to be a staple for our family when we were in town, not anymore. To top it off, my daughters shake had a hair in it and my wife's milkshake was not what she ordered, we didn't realize this until we had already left and back to our house. The ice cream is great but the hours are absurd. Closing an ice cream shop at 8pm in the summer doesn't make any sense. Stand outside for 5 minutes in the evening and you'll see disappointed families walking past after finishing dinner wishing they could've made it earlier. read more

Goody's is guaranteed to transport the older generations back to their childhood. I know it sure does when my husband is near the building. The smell of their house-made waffle cones fills the air in the Village and he swears it's the same as it was when he was 10. Good candy selection, tasty sno-cones with gumballs at the bottom, & house-made ice cream! This place gets PACKED during the summer and often times there's a line out the door. Bummed I wasn't able to try their Marionberry ice cream on my last visit -- we were unable to make it back before leaving. Goodys is weird, for me. It's the only ice cream shoo in the tourist-rich Sunriver Village, but it also doubles as a candy shop (complete with glass cases of truffles and such). The store is always hot (do they NOT have A/C?), the ice cream is average, and the prices are high for what you get. I'm sure whoever owns this place is making money hand over fist b/c there's no other game in town, but I still always leave here wanting it to be better. read more

This place is the jam in Sunriver! Located right at the center of village mall and it offers all the sweet teeth that you can imagine! They have excellent milk shakes, ice cream and a bunch of other candy options. Don't forget the Carmel popcorn. It's the cool thing to do on a summer day in Sunriver, highly recommend!!! read more

So disappointed this year....ice cream was supposed to hard scooped but it was more like soft serve falling off the cone. I ordered rocky road and it didn't have one marshmallow in it and I counted one sliver of almond. If the line wasn't so darned long i would have asked if they had mislabeled it as plain chocolate. My husbands chocolate milkshake was the consistency of chocolate milk and bland at that. He is never one to complain and he didn't finish it. My daughters ice cream was almost melted 5 minutes after it was scooped it was so soft. See pic. Not sure if this was an off night but I am unimpressed this year and don't plan on coming back if this is the icecream they are serving now. We stopped in to get some sweets after playing Pickle Ball. It wasn't too crowded and we got our ice cream cone, shake, caramel popcorn, and candy quickly. The staff was friendly and delivered our desserts promptly. We decided to eat outside in the brisk air since we had our pet with us. In Sunriver and need an ice cream fix? Yep, this is the place! Generous servings served by a friendly staff. Prices are not bad at all and about what you would pay anywhere else. The ice cream is made in Bend and apparently Goody's is expanding to Eugene's 5th Street Market so I will have to check that one out. Had the Coffee Bean ice cream and really liked it. The odd fountain drink menu is the highlight, since the chocolate, the ice cream, and *especially* the coffee are mediocre at best. They used to carry ecclectic candies from the old-timey to the same stuff you'd find in the grocery checkout. Now, however, Goody's seems on their way out. The candies are gone, except their own chocolates. The plushes and toys that used to line the walls, missing. They don't even have their other signature artisan product, the popcorn. If you want a mediocre egg cream or some teen's first attempt at making a mocha, this is the place to come. If you have more self respect than me, this is probably a place you should avoid. read more

The guy used a blade for scrape two slices of ice cream that didn't even come to the top of the cup. Total s screw job. Don't patronize. They don't deserve your business. Family goes to goodies every visit to sunriver (couple times a year for 20 years) and we always leave full and happy. No matter the weather there's usually a small line. They are quick but the service isn't exactly what I'd call friendly. The ice cream on the other hand is always great! The chocolates are good but crazy overpriced if you look at the price per pound. Great ice cream in a central location in Sunriver! Good flavors and worth the wait. Our kids love their rainbow snow cones (with gumballs in the bottom!). The shop is crowded most nights of the summer and many families hang out outside after getting their ice cream. We usually come out here several times during our stays at Sunriver. We usually walk over from Fremont Crossing (where we usually stay at Sunriver). read more

Literally lost our order ticket and then when we tried to let an employee know they ignored us multiple times. After 30 minutes of trying to get help an employee finally helped us. It then took another 15 minutes to get our stuff. Definitely not worth an hour long wait. read more

Update (Aug '19): We were back at Goody's today and I got the brownie batter ice cream which was very good. The service seems to have improved since our last visit so I have changed my rating from four to five stars. Goody's is a fun, nostalgic, old-style ice cream shop. Goody's is a Sunriver institution. It can't be rated merely by its value, service or product. The ice cream is good. Is it the best? I don't know. When you're in the village, tired from a long day on the trails or river, telling stories about past trips and reuniting with seldom seen relatives, it's the best ice cream in the world. When you're hot, tired, kids are going crazy and the high schooler behind the counter seems to be in another world, the taste is going to be less so. Places like Goody's seems to amplify whatever is already happening on your vacation. If your chill and in a great mood you'll probably have a good experience. If your stressed and not having a good vacation moment Goody's can make you crazy. Unless you get Dominic. All in all Goody's gets 5 stars not because of anything remarkable that it does, but because it has played a supporting role in many of my best memories. read more

Goodys is a tradition for us because it's been there so long but it was pretty disappointing. They don't carry all of their flavors in this store - mostly just the basic ones. Most of their ice cream flavors are typical - strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, oreo cookie, etc. We love their coffee espresso one but the person behind the register said they don't make it anymore. Their prices are spendy - $6.50 for a small scoop in a bowl and $9 for a milkshake and I wouldn't complain about the price if they were more generous with the scoop and the place had more ambiance. They cleared stuff out and painted it white so it looks really antiseptic now and they have no seating outside and only a few chairs inside. The staff seem okay but not too happy to be there but maybe they never get any breaks? It could be a lot more fun and needs someone more excited about the place to run it. They might want to get out of the ice cream business and just sell tillamook ice cream and their own chocolates? It just needs more toppings and fun stuff and feel like a candy ice cream shop! read more

The ice cream falls somewhere between soft serve and hard packed. Bad points Service - the service is really poor here. My wife said hello and was about to order something when a big guy, who didn't need the ice cream, cut in front of her to order at the counter. Did I mention we were the only ones is the store at the time? The girl with the visor proceeded to wait on this guy instead of my wife. Courtesy - this girl in the visor didn't even say thank you when she gave my wife her change and the ice cream cones. Manners - when we came into the store, there was no greeting from the girl with the visor even though she was watching us as she stood standing idly by at the counter. Horrible staff managers are young and don't know what they are doing. Staff is very unprofessional and look high all the time.

When in today the store was clearly very short handed, I had to have 14 ice cream cones made... I paid close attention to the names on the girl's aprons and figured I would call them out. These girls had it down. The one (Autumn) very calmly took our orders and was so very respectful. The other young lady (Logan) that was scooping the ice creams, was so quick yet persistent on her scoops. Everything tasted delicious and was so grateful for the lovely and quick service of these girls today. Even with the 14 cones we had ordered we were out of there in about 5 minutes!! I personally couldn't get it done as fast as these girls did. Amazing customer service!!! read more

We set out to get an ice cream cone later in the evening. Goody's was suggested and we rushed over to the village to see if it was still open. Success!!! The atmosphere is pretty down to earth. It is located right across from the ice skating rink, which draws in everyone. The wait in line was worth it. The ice cream is above delicious. I had the oreo and it was amazing.....no crunch....just the deliciousness of the cookie itself. The candy is perfect for just about anyone. The service is great. Hands down, far and away, the best oreo cookie ice cream ever. It's worth the wait just for that. Handmade waffle cones/dishes are fantastic. They make candy and chocolates that are to-die-for as well. The thing keeping me from a 5-star rating is the wait and the service. They employ young people, and it's the perfect starter job, but they are slow, and sometimes not especially friendly. I'm sure a busy ice cream/candy shop can be stressful, but that's where good employee training comes in. Cheer up. It's ice cream. You're making people happy. read more

Down 'n' Dirty ice cream parlor. And when I say Down 'n' Dirty, that's exactly what I mean. If you think a movie theater floor is sticky, try walking around at Goody's on a busy summer night. Like flypaper covered with honey. The counters aren't much better. Don't touch 'em unless you have something to scrub yourself with. But if you can get past the scum and the goo, the ice cream is quite good. It's not San Francisco good, but it's worth the visit. Stick to the more complicated items and toppings, as the ice cream itself is good but not outstanding. I particularly enjoyed my Chocolate Malt, and would have that again. read more

Praline had no pralines. Rocky road had one marshmallow in it (two people ordered that). Coffee ice cream was almost flavorless. I've come here for years and brought my extended family this time and we were very disappointed. Never again. They measured the scoop size to the exact oz and took a long time to deliver each order. It was like they were conducted a science lab. No cheerful personalities in the store either. We should have bought a carton of Ben and Jerry's from the grocery and a pack of cones and would have spent much less money. It's too bad the quality has degraded so poorly. read more
