My scoop of Marionberry ice cream was incredible! They were way backed up with one guy scooping ice cream and one girl taking orders 5x faster than he could scoop. Also, I could get 2 pieces of chocolate for $6. Or 4 pieces for $12.50. That doesn't math... math is hard. Saturday January 3, 2026, around 10:15 AM. This was one of the most disappointing customer experiences our family has ever had, and it ended a tradition we've held for over 10 years. We walked into Goodies Ice Cream this morning as a family of eight--excited, happy, and looking forward to ending our Sunriver trip the way we always have: milkshakes from Goodies. The store was completely empty except for one employee, an older woman behind the counter. We were literally the only customers there. When we ordered milkshakes, she flatly told us she would not make them because it was "too big of a project" and that she didn't want to make shakes or malts right now. Not that the machine was broken. Not that it was unavailable. Simply that she didn't want to. We were stunned. Confused. Embarrassed. And honestly hurt. She turned away what would have been well over $100 in business without hesitation. But more than the money, she turned away loyal customers, kids who were excited, and a family tradition that meant something to us. The tone was dismissive and unapologetic. We were treated like an inconvenience for wanting a product that your business is literally known for. We left shocked and deeply disappointed. Watching our kids' excitement turn into confusion and sadness was heartbreaking. This wasn't just bad service--it felt like we were told we didn't matter. Mark (owner), I'm writing this in hopes that you do respond--because something about this experience suggests a disconnect somewhere in the operation. Whether it's unclear expectations, inconsistent policies, or a breakdown in communication, the end result is that customers are being turned away from core offerings without explanation. That shouldn't fall on paying customers, especially those who have supported your business for many years. As a small business owner myself, I understand how difficult it can be to maintain consistent service standards every day. In my own practice, we've learned the most from feedback when we've fallen short, and those moments have helped us grow. My hope is that this feedback is taken in that same spirit--as an opportunity to look closely at the day-to-day experience inside the shop and ensure it reflects the reputation and history of Goodies. Pricey but it's a fun family activity for the location. It's really popular and kids really enjoyed it. ~$7 for one large scoop of ice cream and waffle cone. All 3 kids and wife failed to finish all of it and threw it away - though they really liked the flavor/taste. Just too much. Cookie Monster, cookie dough, chocolate, and Oreo were really good. Shame on the owners. I have been a loyal patron to Goody's for over 18 years. My family and I arrived at 6:45 to a line that was not even out the door and ended up waiting over an hour for a few ice cream cones. The ice cream was just ok. Stood in first line for 10 minutes even though three people in front of us and was hot because no or hardly any a/c. There is a second line after you order to wait for someone else to make it. Went for banana splits, no bananas, no whip cream. So hot fudge Sunday. I asked for almonds and got peanuts. The hot fudge was watery and the ice cream was ok! One girl working, no complaints. Ice cream - I would say it's a 2 at best. The flavors or nothing special. The popcorn is a hard pass. It's old and too gross to eat. Line and Service - I would say 3 line was long, took too long and just didn't seem like they had a good plan to get through the line quickly. Some of the best ice cream I have had. Fish bowl drink was a perfect drink. The Green River didn't taste how it was meant to be. Had a great taste for a bit then it just became soda water after the second sip. Fantastic staff took care of the line really fast and efficiently. read more

Ice cream is AMAZING here! We stopped for some ice cream and my daughters and I each got a one-scoop of Vanilla. Warning! The scoops are HUGE here!! Next time I'm definitely doing a half-scoop (if they can) or a kids scoop. Candy was 14.95 per pound(?!) and I decided that was WAY too pricey. We went up to the front (after waiting in a line that was OUT THE DOOR!?) and I saw a little basket that said '3 DOLLAR CANDY BAGS' and there were these little variety bags of candy! They were small, but big enough to be TOTALLY worth it! We grabbed two little bags-more about those in the photos :)- and got our ice cream. Overall, amazing. The staff could stand to be a little quicker and more polite- two of the staffs members were just on their phones in the corner, laughing- but the ice cream is GREAT! Worst lemonade I've ever had. No ice and all syrup in the bottom third of the drink. Yuck. Ice cream: salted caramel is plain. A few of us ordered a scoop of it and thought it was vanilla. We love stopping by this candy shop with our kids. We mostly get jar candy in a bag which is an excellent deal for our family. The kids behind the counter are always great with our young daughters too. There used to be seating inside, which has been cleared out. Lines are long and they could use less people scooping and more people at registers at times. After all the shops close, Goody's is still open until 10pm. The line of people getting the goodies is long but it is still a decent wait time. The shop is very popular so we had to check it out and get some ice cream. The prices of the candies were so expensive so none of us bought any. I got marion berry ice cream with a cherry topping, which was free! the cherry was just the artificial syrup and a bad ratio of fruit to syrup. the ice cream itself was so icy. It was not good quality at all due to the icy factor and lack of flavor. I couldn't taste the marionberry. Two of us got hot fudge and both thought it was underwhelming and part of the fudge looked clear. There was an overall consensus that the price was expensive for the quality of the product and the wait time. We had to wait 10 minutes for our ice cream so I will not be returning to this ice cream shop. read more

The smell was amazing walking in. We got some ice cream and truffles which were very good. Locally owned is always good. The only reason for 3 stars is the employee used their gloves on both the cash register and while picking up our truffles, which during COVID-19 times wasn't very sanitary. read more

It's so refreshing to be able to get ice cream at a locally run ice cream parlor! My husband says that Goody's has been around for at least as long as he has been coming to Sunriver, which is over 30 years. The original goodies does not look like the original goodies anymore if you want the real experience go in to Boise and visit the son's location. Still original not this sad knock off. This is NOT the goodies I came to my entire childhood that was FULL of nostalgia, and great memories. I brought our kids here after years of talking about how goodys was one of my favorite places to visit in SunRiver. They brought spending money for the toys and candy that are now non existent. We walked in to a nearly empty, garishly ugly blue place I thought it was shutting down but I guess that's just how they "updated" it. They took out the old time barstools and all the seating that used to be there. Cut WAY down on the options and flavor choices and the few pieces of candy I got from the counter were completely stale. The girl at the counter was sweet and was very sympathetic and understanding that this is NOT the same Goodys that everyone remembers and loves. I don't know if the original owner sold it to someone who doesn't know what they are doing? But this iconic SunRiver pillar has been shattered. read more

A must go if you're in Sunriver! We go here every year without fail. What I love most about this place is the fresh waffle cones that are made in the store. The smell as soon as you walk in is great. I am also always surprised because the line is usually near the door, or out of the door, and I always think I'll be in line for 30 minutes but the service is good and this place preps for the busy weekends so it is never much of a wait. I went with Oreo cookie and brownie batter split single scoop today and was not disappointed. This place also has a ton of sweets besides ice cream! The ice cream was decent, but the cone was stale and not crunchy or crispy. But the shave ice, don't get me started on that it the absolute worst thing I've ever had. The "shaved ice" wasn't even shaved, it was just hard plain ice. The grape flavor tasted too artificial and the sour apple tasted like sour feet. Goodys has been here for probably 20 years, easily. One of the few shops that have stayed around in Sunriver. Located across from the arena in the middle of the village. It's a must stop to enjoy ice cream and other treats. Their ice cream is bomb - they have cones, shakes, ice cream sodas, and home made chocolates and fudge, and popcorn - it's a kids dream. Also have beanie babies and other stuff animals / toys to buy -this place gets crowded during the peak season, especially after dinner time. Seating is very limited inside and can get packed - get out and enjoy the village anyways! read more

We have been here many many times over the years and unfortunately the customer service has gone downhill. I get that everyone makes a mistake sometimes, but when my order was made incorrectly and my husband went to return it we were accused of eating half of it. Are your kidding me? Only one bite was taken out of it which was when I noticed it was the wrong flavor. Im guessing the reason it looked half eaten was because they aren't even giving full scoops. These kids need to be trained on how to scoop ice cream properly and how to treat customers with respect. We won't be going back. I blame the owners and poor training. read more
