At 5 pm on a Saturday Yolked was bustling, with a full bar and many tables already taken. We were able to snag bar seats after a 20 minute wait. If the 90 minute seating rule was in effect, no one told us at the bar and we did not notice. Service was impeccable from the friendly bartenders. We decided to split the Dill Cream Roasted Beets ($21) and Citrus Miso Carrot Ribbons ($20) for appetizers. The beets were the clear winner, served warm, and I only wish I ordered the Focaccia ($11) to dip in the irresistible sour cream and dill sauce. The Duck Ragu ($46) entree was huge and we enjoyed, though the pappardelle noodles were over a foot long. I considered Lady and the Tramping it but was overruled. The special Apple Crisp dessert with ice cream was a perfect early fall dessert. So, why 4 stars? The prices here are extreme. Appetizers are in the $20's, entrees in the $40's and the cheapest glass of wine on the menu is $14. I always pose this question: Can I eat at Scales for cheaper? When the answer is "yes," then I'd rather just go to Scales. And Yolked is easily more expensive than Scales, even if you only get a burger. Also, it's extremely, exceptionally loud. That's not a big problem for me, but something to keep in mind. Overall, Yolked is by far the best restaurant in the area. It's a stylish spot with very good food. Just make sure your credit card gives extra points for dining.
