Seriously, I've had better. The parking lot is like a bumper cars ride at Six Flags. The only sections I've ever had any luck in finding any true gems are the book and household goods. First of all, somehow the people who work here have somehow kept the book section in amazing organization. KUDOS! Second, there are usually some great books within the section. But overall, this Goodwill is not my first stop when thrifting (which is really a bummer since it is the closest to my home). read more

It's more organized than other goodwills that I've been to. Went there for a fan and a microwave, found the microwave but it was the only one there, for $20 and there were no fans :( Huge selection of bread makers though, guess it depends on demand! This is my favorite Goodwill store. It's huge, easy parking, clean, and well organized. I always find something I want here. Their clothing selection is my favorite. During my last visit I found a pair of $200+ jeans (sold at Urban Outfitters) for $6 and a top from Nordstrom for $1.49. You can't beat that. I wish they had a wider selection of toys and kids stuff, but you can't win 'em all I guess. read more

Everything in this Goodwill is well-organized and all of the people working there were friendly and helpful. They asked several times if I needed help finding anything or carrying anything. When I was trying to figure out how to get some big furniture items into the trunk of my car Earl, one of the aforementioned helpful people, arranged everything perfectly so I was able to get it all home. read more

I have found so many household items here that are clean and barely used. Great for things like jeans, t shirts and jackets.

Tons of selection and great stuff.I once saw two ladies leave with IKEA shelves they got for $20.00 each. I like this store because they always have a constant flow of stuff coming in. But with that in mind, they are always busy. Parking is limited and there can be a long line and wait for donations. Unlike, Value Village, coupons are not given when you donate. If that matters to you, which it sometimes does to me, you might want to go to Value Village. read more

Are you serious, goodwill?? At this location, I have the pleasure of discovering ratty used clothing items price at HIGHER than suggested retail price. I have seen dirty old forever 21 dresses priced at $25, gross old shoes for more than $40, and a single Pyrex item for $18. This used to be a place for lower income folks to find great clothes and household items for cheap. That's not the case anymore. Get a grip, Goodwill. You are not a boutique. I went to donate a bag of clothing at their drive through location today, and the staff member attending the drop off center treated me with extreme and unwarranted rudeness. Even hours later I still feel frustrated and wronged. I understand that the line was long and he had probably worked a long day, but I don't see that as a fair justification for his attitude and behavior. I will not be returning to donate more items to this location because I cannot support a business which condones this attitude from their employees, especially towards those actively donating so that they can operate. read more

This is the best Goodwill with above and beyond customer service. My parents are moving and I have been doing a lot of goodwill runs for them. Recently I dropped off a box and accidentally left my phone on the top of the items to donate. When I came back ten minutes later the box was gone but all of the employees were so nice trying to find it for me. The manager Israel went above and beyond after we couldn't find it, he called me after I had given up to suggest I use find my iPhone to make the sonar sound so they could locate it and then searched the back until they found it. One of the best, if not, the best Goodwill in Seattle (and most cities, for that matter). There is always a ton of great stuff here at reasonable prices. The prices have started to go up in the last couple of years and once and a while the shoes or some of the fancy brands are overpriced, but you can still find tons of great deals. First off I only shop here rarely and only for books. After a visit to this store today I noticed a number of dogs in the store! Thinking there cannot be that many therapy dogs in one spot even in this area I was puzzled. As usual the checkout line was long which is ok. One expects this at times. The young couple in front of me had a dog which looked frankly dirty. Waiting in the line there is a display of candy for sale and I observed the dog sniff and nuzzle every single candy bar that it could reach. I'm not sure how this can even meet the most lax health standards, but there you have it. I asked the cashier what the dog policy us and she informed me they allow all dogs since they are not a food service business... but obviously they do sell food itemsshe further informed me that it is up to the manager of each store to set the policy. Seems irresponsible since it's probably only a matter of time before someone is attacked or bitten. That's a lawsuit that could cost someone a hefty payout when it goes to court. So be warned maybe think twice about the bacteria count on the candy wrappers if you purchase them. I also wonder when the last time was that the floors were cleaned in that store? They really are dirty and the smell in the store is alarming as well . Hope someone at Goodwil can take a look at this store. To me as such a busy outlet it is very poorly managed. read more

Lots of great finds at the Goodwill. Beware of the "fashion forward" section. The prices are crazy...$24 for a shirt? But - the regular racks are FULL of great finds. I got an awesome knee-length H&M coat for $5! They do the typical 50% off a colored tag each week - which makes the treasure hunting so much more fun. The staff is not particularly pleasant...or pleasant at all- but you are not paying for nice. read more

Wow! I was impressed by how clean, large and organized this Goodwill was. Most experiences I've had with Goodwill have been sub-par. This place has a lot of good stuff and of course..it's super cheap. The clothes are organized by size AND color-coded. Definitely was impressed by that. Found myself a cute sweater for $7, and some cheap shoes for $5. PLUS, Thursday-Sunday blue tag items are half-off the already low price they are. What a deal. There's books, purses, furniture, household goods, etc. Definitely a fun place to shop if you have the time. read more

Love this place. In my opinion it's better than Value Village by a long shot. You're not going here to get great stuff, but you can certainly find some good movies, books and cloths for kids. I get lots of my kids stuff here because they grow out of the cloths and books and movies so quickly. I found a few good things for myself here as well. I dig this Goodwill but their prices have gone through the roof over the past several months. Anything worthwhile will be very expensive, like $70 for a used Kate Spade purse or NWT dress. Wow! I haven't been to Goodwill in ages, and I remember my last experience involving bunches of old, out-of-fashion clothes and dirty pots and pans that no one would want. This store is fabulous!!! There are tons of women's and men's clothes to choose from, curtains, table linens, purses gallore, kitchen supplies, etc. I saw some really nice stuff here for great prices. This is the most overpriced thrift store in the Seattle area. There prices easily exceed retail. I can only assume people keep shopping there because its a thrift store so they think they must be getting a good deal. Actually the antique stores in the area are cheaper than the Goodwill. There is one pricer there in particular who is completely off his rocker. If I could give this less than one star I would. read more

I had a really great experience here, today! I like that it's a pretty big store, but it doesn't feel like it takes forever to get through it like the really big one downtown. You really have to hunt, though, because the prices can be all over the place. Sometimes, I find really amazing deals but there's alot of really overpriced stuff, too. The shoe selection is usually pretty great, but I've been having trouble finding anything decent lately that isn't extremely overpriced. I love that they have a parking lot! Knowing that I can easily drive and park somewhere makes me much more likely to spend more time shopping there. read more

Not that there is anything wrong with this goodwill. But I walked to to use the bathroom and to quickly buy a pair of shoes that I had been wanted to buy for a while, mind you I know what customer service is especially SGW standards are. A man walked up to me Joe the assistant store manager and told me the store was closed, I asked if all the tills were closed and if I could make a purchase, he told me if "you come up right now we can check you out but we are closed" that being fine and all, Said goodbye to one of the workers there because I know her, as he stood there and was waiting to escort me to the register. I said that's ok I'm not going to do this purchase today. (It's insanely rude to be watched until I leave, I know there are thrives by I am not one of them.) again I told him forget it, and started to walk to the door as he followed me out. I like the Ballard goodwill they produce quality and keep quantity controlled, but to be treated like that by an assistant manager who should know that you should NOT walk directly up to someone and tell them they are closed and you basically can't do any more shopping. Management boot camp is something goodwill does for managers and maybe that'd be a good choice for him, in the retail word of mouth is very important and treating customers with decency a top priority. read more

Ever since i discovered this Goodwill last summer, i come here at least 2-3 times a week, i live a few blocks awa so it's super convenient, and i always, always find treasures here. I love antiques, and use to go to antique stores but this is better, because they rotate stuff so fast and the prices can't be beat. People can furnish a whole house here on the cheap, and the quality of stuff can't be understated. I love this Goodwill, its the best around!!!!! read more

This location puts the good in Goodwill, Today I walked in carrying two items I was trying to match for color and coordinates. I found three items that worked, when I got to the cashier I put the items I'd found on the counter, and explained the other two items were mine.The cashier was very pleasant, and asked if I wanted a bag, I declined and said I had one with me. He rang up the sale, put the items in the bag and, out the door I went. I didn't realize until I got home my two items were not in the bag.I called the store and was told I'd have to go back with my receipt. So I went back and showed them the sales slip, which has the time, date,and cashiers name, [ Theo] was taking his lunch break, but the manager reviewed the tape in the meantime. The film revealed the sale but did not show my two items. By now Theo was back from lunch and he took it from there. We didn't know if the items had been taken by a customer, or if they'd been recycled to the pricing dept. Theo spent a good 45 min to an hour in the back looking for the slacks and top. Using my description and apologizing for keeping me waiting,at last he came back with 1/2 dozen brown pants and several red tops. Low and Behold there they were! He really made my day. I'm an long-term Ballard resident and I absolutely love this store. About 20% of my clothes come from here (female, size 12-14), 100% of my (brand new) leggings, plus a good amount of my household goods. I donate frequently as well and the staff is always very friendly and helpful (if harried at times). It can get busy - around Halloween it's a madhouse - but that's how it is now that Ballard has become a hot place to live. It's crowded almost everywhere here now, you can't blame the store for that. They do need more dressing rooms - it's usually a wait to get into one, but it's worth it. I never leave this store empty-handed. Great cashiers, most of the employees look genuinely happy to work there, terrific bargains all over the place, enormous variety of goods, mysterious quirky treasures galore, busy busy place for top-notch people-watching. One of the best businesses in Ballard, plus Goodwill's mission can't be beat: Buy a fabulous LL Bean raincoat or a brand new Jones NY cocktail dress with the tags still on for yourself (two of my actual finds) and know your money isn't going to some Republican billionaire family but instead it's helping someone with barriers to earn a living for themselves. Love love love this store. Thank you Ballard Goodwill! I'm actually going there right now - I need some glassware pots that I can use as planters for some indoor spring flowers.
