By far one of the most expensive goodwills I have ever been too and it shows they are overflowing with items.

Although this location is easy to get to and very well organized it is also not like the ones close to home. They only have one color tag and it's usually a 1/2 off but there are no $1.49 tags Which is disheartening considering they would make more money if they offered that option as well. Great donation center however the magnitude of items being donated and the line for the cars causes a lot of problems in the parking lot. read more

Firstly, let me mention I have been shopping goodwill my whole life, I support reusing, recycling, and sustainability. I love goodwill. But tonight, was quiet a bit alarming. 10/26/2021 8:00pm I was being checked out. I had choosen to buy many small paperbacks books. As I was being checked out, The worker asked Nicki, I'm assuming the manager, how much the books would be. I picked them all out as being normal, small paperbacks for $1.99. But Nicki insisted they were $2.99. She pointed out one book and said "this one is $1.99". The comment was so rude, I thought she was joking. All the books being roughly the same size. She followed by saying "if it has chapters it's $2.99". I asked why the one she pointed out to be $1.99 had chapters. She failed to answer and made me feel very uncomfortable. Like she was biased to me in some way. Needless to say, I told her that didn't make sense and I felt like I was being hustled. She didn't care. I'm really looking for some closure on this. I even asked to see the dimension rules for book prices and she denied me that. I'm at a loss for words snd very hurt that our experience at goodwill went like this today. She entirely lacks customer service or the ability to connect with customers. As a business owner in multiple industries, this type of treatment should not slide. read more

I have a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde relationship with Goodwill. On the Dr Jekyll side, I can easily drop off discarded items that still have life with another family and not worth selling via eBay. They have an online presence and sometimes you can score items 1/2 the price of eBay. The Mr Hyde side, everything inside the store is basically subsistence living essentials that if not sold is going to be thrown away by Goodwill. Now, local stores don't hold off some of the treasures that making coming to Goodwill a treasure hunt. Now, all the treasures you could find in the local stores are now shipped off and sold by auction on the ShopGoodWill online store. There was a time back in 2008 when I could find vintage stereos, transceivers and cameras along with some Oscar de la Renta sport coat, a Dyson vacuum cleaner and local treasures before they were skimmed off to sell elsewhere. I use to buy all my shirts and jeans from Goodwill, pots and pans, dishes and eating utensils. I would go to Goodwill stores 2-3 times a week. Today, I use Goodwill for spring cleaning and a federal tax deduction. That said, Goodwill provides a community service and a purpose. Too bad, I have fond memories of a better time when fireflies and song birds filled the spring skies. Today, it's black birds and just flies. read more

I'm reviewing this store based solely on their book inventories. It's a very small selection. However, it is a very organized and clean section at the front of the store - right hand side of the cashier area. I didn't find what I was looking for but I did appreciate everything organized correctly by author's last name and genre. So it made browsing a quick process. The parking lot is a bit of a mess even though there are plenty of parking spaces. Maybe it's because most people don't know how to drive nor park sadly. read more

This goodwill is crazy overpriced! They're trying to sell used clothing and second hand goods at retail prices. I found a few pieces of clothes I was interested in, such as nike and under armor that were priced at $20-$30 dollars. Are they crazy? Other good wills with the same brands and merchandise charge a fraction of these prices. I think because this good will is next to a college and the people are willing to pay more for trendier pieces and brands, they treat this store like a boutique. Aside from the clothes, there wasn't too much I found - this goodwill is definitely run more like a clothing store than a knick knack find type place. While it was fun to browse through the items, I can't ever find myself spending that much money to buy used goods. I will stick to the good will stores in my area that are interested in pricing things reasonably! read more

I'd give this negative stars if I could! Used to be hood but my visit this week was over in 10 minutes. The prices were OUTRAGEOUS and much of the merchandise, especially shoes, purses, toys and household items were DIRTY! Many used and well worn items with higher than new prices! Used Michael Kors sneakers $40; new in Marshall's $24.99. Used incomplete toy truck, dirty, $15. Used no name plain sweatshirt $15. AND, their stingy sale -only 30% off one color! Every other Goodwill in WA I've been to has 50% off one color and another for $1.79! AND, in January, only 50% off HALLOWEEN overpriced junk! Unbelievable! Guess all will end up at the bins soon lol. I accidentally left a couple of borrowed glue guns innone of the bags that I donated. I realized my mistake and went back less than an hour later. The people receiving the donations would not look for the two little glue guns, although the young man who had taken the donation seemed to know where they were, but made me fill out a form about the items. They never called me back. I doubt they searched for the items very well. read more

First let me say I like Goodwill. Most of the time I visit the Dearborn location or Capital Hill. Today I was helping my elderly mother by dropping off times at the Goodwill close to her. Upon making a left into the parking lot I saw they have a designated drop off so I pulled up... no one greeted me but no big deal, I know the drill, everything goes in the blue bins and I'm on my way maybe 2-3mins... I had just put the 2nd of 3 bags into the bin when a worker comes out and starts telling me "you went the wrong way, you are the wrong way, how much more do you have?" I was confused and said one more bag and followed with "Isn't this the drop off area?" He just kept saying there are signs and I went the wrong way. Coming from the direction I went, THERE ARE NO SIGNS.... No wrong way or do not enter.... nothing... instead of yelling at people, maybe put up a sign and I will follow it. I will not be visiting this location ever again. read more

I've been a frequent customer of the Burien Goodwill and was very happy with their reopening after having to be closed due to Covid Virus. While shopping a couple days ago, the fitting rooms were closed, so myself and several other shoppers were told we could return clothing items that didn't work out due to not being able to try them on. I've never returned anything I've purchased there and now know they aren't honoring any returns due to the pandemic, that corporate is not allowing them to accept any returns. They told me they'll honor any returns after the virus situation clears up...yeah. I'm very disappointed with this and probably won't be shopping there anymore. I've had far better customer experiences at St. Vincent de Paul and Value Village. read more

The donation line is so long, I've waited an hour before just to drop stuff off. And their prices are so high, I understand they need to make a profit too but they're getting out of control for used goods. They don't have that great of a selection either. I usually prefer the other local thrift stores but this one is the only one open past 7pm in the area. read more

The staff is really aggressive and mean when they approach you- like they automatically assume you're doing something wrong. No kindness or grace. I was surprised by my experience this time because it isn't always like that. They should rename this Goodwill Nirvana, since it's freedom from the pains and worries of ordinary retail. Clean, super organized, newer fitting rooms and shoes, as Kiki-yelper, wrote about, LOTS OF SHOES. On a recent trip here I actually had to limit the amount of items I allowed myself to purchase, because there were just too many. As an added bonus there is a really good Mexican produce market next door, that has super deals on fruits, veggies and other baked goodness. read more

I will always remember this Goodwill as the place where I found mint-condition Y2K embroidered flats that DIDN'T FIT ME. One of the most heartbreaking finds of my thrifting life! Anyway, this Burien Goodwill is a medium-sized store located next to a Mexican grocery. It has a big parking lot, so there's never a problem trying to find a spot. I don't love this location because it's kinda messy and disorganized inside. You'll see stuff on the floor, items just jammed any which way into the shelves, and things that have migrated to random places in the store. It makes it harder to find what you're looking for and it just sort of feels neglected. You can see in my photos that items are sitting or lying on the floor or filling the aisle, making it hard to move around. However, they do seem to have a good stock of brand-name bakeware like Nordicware, Calphalon, and Pyrex, if you're into that sort of thing, so that's a plus. An OK store, one that I would stop in at if I were in the area but wouldn't make a special trip out of my way for. read more

My first excitement was the cash back option from the partner ship via Yelp. Returning my money without a catch, always a good way to get me in the door. I enjoy visiting the kitchen area, craft area and little knick nacks. While i know i dont need anything from here, i always score. Really nice holiday candles. Thank you to the nice people who only used them as decoration. I try to use most things for their intended purpose. So i say burn baby burn!!!! Nice popcorn air popper for 5 bucks!!!! I live for plain popcorn with a slight seasoning, flavor always change!!!! Thank you again. My spouse scored a couple dozen shirts for work, with his job..he literally burns through clothes on a weekly. Customer service gets 3 stars, helped sign me up for the rewards program. read more

First of all, attention to the community and public!! The regional director of operations for the Goodwill that oversees Kitsap, King, and Pierce county has completely revamped the book sections at Goodwill!! They claim the books aren't selling. This is false! And, no excuse for removing nonfiction books and leaving fiction garbage. Nice try, not buying!! They have completely removed entire genre's of the books they are selling. All that's left are junk fiction and cookbooks. It's disgraceful and offensive how they are trying to control what the community has access to in regards to knowledge and education. This is called, "CENSORSHIP" on the highest level!! The problem here is they are still accepting ALL book donations but not selling most of the books. Hmmm?? I wonder if they are secretly destroying particular books!?? STOP donating to Goodwill NOW, especially your books. Donate to some other cause because this is unacceptable. They think we are too stupid to notice?? The public deserves to know and will know what is going on. Your excuse about books not selling is a boldface lie. You still have books on your shelves from last year but you removed whole sections of newer books. Goodwill, you can no longer take from the community and claim to support jobs and help. EXCEPT EXCEPT EXCEPT... OMFreakingG, the KIDS ARE OUT OF CONTROL!! This place is insane in the evenings. It's like after 6pm the neighborhood children turn into slobbering, Tasmanian devil-demons and flock to Goodwill to destroy everything in sight and as noisily as they possibly can. I live close and go at least 5 times a week so I know what I'm talkin' about, it's a consistent thing. Anyone who's witnessed the mayhem, and the employees, know that I am not exaggerating. I swear the parents DO NOT WATCH their kids AT ALL. They want a break from their little devil-demons, I guess I can't say I blame them except for the fact that THEY are the ones who spawned them!! How many times have I scolded a child for ripping open a game and dumping the contents on the floor, and then have to high-tail it out of there because he goes running and screaming to his mommy at the complete opposite quadrant of the store saying that "some mean lady yelled at him!" Uuuggghh, you Goodwill shoppers that bring your little children to be babysat by strangers and Goodwill employees...I HATE YOU. Keep your kid with you when you shop. Please. It's your job. read more

This store dominates in the book, DVD, and furniture sections. My wife and I have been exceptionally successful here. There is even a nice candy/snack section by the checkout area! Workers outside in receiving are always willing to unload items from your car that you wish to donate. It makes spring cleaning a bit easier since you know that your unwanted items will end up in another home instead of in a landfill. I love what this company stands for. They create jobs and help get people on their feet again. I guarantee you have an old set of roller skates or a baseball glove or another item that you don't use anymore, but that another person would love. Instead of the item collecting dust, drive it here so that it can be enjoyed by another person. read more

This is probably my most favorite Goodwill. Not only is it relatively close to where I reside, I never fail to find something to buy there. The racks are always stuffed, so its pretty difficult to go on an off day. Now let's chat about the shoes. The shoes! Oh my god the shoes. I love Goodwill because the shoes, unless other wise marked, are $3.99. This is why I have too many fucking shoes. They have a great book section. I'm a total bookworm and thanks to Goodwill and the cheap books, I have hundreds of books I can't wait to get through. Depending on which cashier you get the book prices will vary. They are supposed to be $1.99 but on more than one occasion the cashier rang them up as 69 cents. Thank god for new employees or old employees who just don't give a damn. read more

I love Goodwill!!! Hands down, the best part about this store is that it doesn't have the hipster prices that you typically find in Seattle!!!!!!!!! Much like any Thrift store, it's always a treasure hunt. =+) They get in new merchandise all the time. Every time I'm there, there are multiple employees putting our new items. The clothes are typically hit or miss, but every once in a blue moon, it's the total score! It's always fun for me to explore the aisles trying to see what's available. That last time I was there, I found a cool cookbook. The negative of this store are that it can be kind of messy and/or disorganized, and the bathrooms are somewhat of a disaster. Seriously, I've seen truck stop bathrooms that are cleaner. However, that won't stop me from checking out their newest selection every week or two! read more

I second the motion with this Goodwill. This is a good store to find working jeans for my bf. He works in dirt and such that buying a new pair of $50 jeans is a waste. For that price you can buy nearly 6 pairs! This place is organized and well kept. Yes a lot of vintage stuff that you'll be able to smell once you pass by the items. I also like their book section, especially the cookbooks. I have found several that I have been wanting, Joy of Cooking for one (which everyone should have in their kitchen, even if you don't cook!) and for few dollars! A good place to donate juts about anything and be sure that it will find a second home quickly. The donation area is to the front left as you face the building and marked by a few cones. They ask that you stay in your car, but its faster and easier to help the staff unload. There are a few, large baskets curbside that ease the process. Remember to ask for a receipt when you pull up or they may forget to provide one before you drive away. read more

The Burien Goodwill is one of the best goodwills that I know. It is completely organized and has many items too choose from all over the store. The only downfall is there is TOO many items and it makes it hard to look at clothes when you cant even move them too look at item. Goodwill doesnt have anything on Walmart.It's like a goldmine.From time to time,especially on the 50% off days you can get stuff that costs 5-10 times more than it's worth.For instance I got a Electralog fireplace,with the fake fire and heater, that cost $150 for $30.I got a fishtank,hood,with 2 working aquarium bulbs,and a fake plant for $10.I got a wingback padded chair,normally $150 for $10.A sheepskin,normally $50,for $6.Yah the stuff is used but it's only slightly used in most cases.If you have an eye for bargains,in most cases it's better to start shopping for things you need here,and even things you don't need that you might want to resell. This Goodwill is always getting donations unlike some and there is always a feeding frenzy for the carts of goodies being pushed out by the shoe section.So go to Goodwill,but try behave yourself and not to get in any fights for stuff. read more

I had to write a review, finally, on this GW location because of how it consistently surprises me with fun finds. Lately, my usual thrift shopping trips to Value Village, St. Vincent de Paul's, etc. have been major busts. Broken merchandise, sparse shelves, and way too highly priced goods have been the norm. Those all exist at this location too but I am more frequently surprised here even after the others have gone to crap. For example, yesterday I found not one but two great condition Athleta dresses that originally sold for over $50 each and I got them for $5.99 each. They also had the most gorgeous mid century spider armed lamp that I would have bought if there was anyway I could have fit the danged thing in my car. I'm still kicking myself over that one! The only reason I withhold a star is for the lack of dressing rooms and child control problem. Three fitting rooms means that you have to pretty much plan an extra half hour to your trip if you are going to be trying clothing on and there are quite frequently shoppers who come loaded with an entire cart full of clothes to try. Bring a wifi enabled device to pass the time. Also, the kids. The kids! I won't even get into that except to say tread lightly and possibly bring ear protection. Overall, this is one of my favorite thrift stores south of Dearborn. Visit in the summer and you can even buy some frozen ice from the street vendor on S.W. 128th St.! read more

I frequent this particular Goodwill as it is located in close proximity to where I reside. My review of this store is what it is as the customer service and cleanliness are less than what seems to be the standard at these type of businesses. Lots of sketchy people shopping here--I've actually been groped on two separate occasions while shopping here, like wtf?! I've often seen packages open and out of place--I assume items where taken from the bags and left on another isle by the person taking the items. Always seem to be numerous employees working but when you go to make a purchase there are never enough cashiers. The manager seems like an ass, just my opinion. If this store wasn't so close by I doubt I would ever shop here. Hit and miss as to the great finds found here. read more

I live very close to this store, so I go quite often. I love the fact they have reasonable prices compared to the other thrift stores in town, or even the Goodwill in Southcenter or Kent DesMoines Road. Even though I go weekly, I never fail to find really interesting things. That being said, I agree 100% with the other reviews that the demon spawn children are OUT OF CONTROL, the store can be messy at times, and the bathrooms aren't checked as often as they should be. That's why 4 instead of 5 stars on this thrifty shopping experience. read more
