Glad to see they have put up what they can and cannot accept as that was my issue the last time I came here.

I came to donate and found this. Glad they have left a clear sign for people to know what they can and cannot accept. Thanks for making this change.

What I like about the "Goodwill" is the fact that sometimes you actually find some treasures. I won't quote the saying that has the wrord "Trash" in it because I never go into a "Goodwill" location looking for things I don't want. You really can find something in here that you really like if that is the mindset you go into a "Goodwill" location looking for that. So as far as this "Pittsburg" location goes, I have to say, I've been in here a few times and I've hardly ever gone inside and left empty handed. With this location being only a hop, skip and a jump from me. I can't help but to stop inside when I'm in the area. Allow me to tell you why.. August 17, 2017 Location: Goodwill Pittsburg, Ca People: 1 Adult Story: So always on the hunt for a deal, I made my way inside and being a person that loves button down shirts and dvd's I always go inside with an open mind hoping that I come out with a deal on something that I may have not seen in a while or a great come up that I know I nine times out of ten I won't find in your general retail stores anymore. Service/Hospitality: The service is not consistent, I've had a different experience most of the time, but as far as this most recent visit goes, I did sit at a cash register waiting for about 5 min or so for someone to come ring me up. The sad part of it all they were all in the back of the store also the donation area talking and laughing it up while I sat at the front of the store ringing a bell for service....yea. I did get help eventually though and she seemed very reluctant, but she quickly did what she had to do and then proceeded to go and hang back out and laugh and talk and gossip. All in all I got what I wanted and this review is based off that time so the service wasn't all there, at least I got told thank you for stopping in. Items/Cleanliness: If you're familiar with "Goodwill" they have days where they have a sale or they do the whole color coded thing with clothing and select items in where a huge discount is available. On this visit I picked up 2 button down shirts. One at $4.00 on a green tag special and the other at $5.00 on a gray tag special and I also found a copy of MTV's hit show "Laguna Beach" the first season on dvd at $2.99. I have to say that I was pretty happy with my purchases. Just a little over $12 dollars for things I really wanted, I have to say that I came out on top here. As far as the cleanliness of this store....it could be much better. Things at this location always are out of place for the most part and some attention to detail is defiantly needed here. Tidy isn't the word I would use to describe this place, but at least finding what I want is the best part of the experience. Overall: This "Goodwill" location is very close to where I live and like most people, I like a good deal. Compared to some of my fellow "Yelpers" and reading a few of their reviews, I don't think they're overpriced as some have mentioned. I do agree with some of what they have to say though. I can see myself dropping by on occasions because you never know what they'll have. That's the overall beauty of the "Goodwill" and the fact that your purchases actually do make a difference in society as money spent is donated to various charities and social organizations. That fact right there makes me overlook some of the shortcomings that myself and others have experienced.

My recently donated a large amount of items while doing a clean out on a house. Some of the items were very nice and pretty valuable too. I just did not have time to sell them so I had to donate to get the house cleared out. I dealt with a guy wearing a cowboy hat, who was very nice to me. Very polite. Then my next trip I've dealt with another guy who is incredibly rude. Black dude, bald with a mustache. Everything that I was unloading, he had some negative comment to make. One thing was a Christmas tree still in its box. He said "this? Really? What the hell we gonna do with a Christmas tree in April??" then he continued to make comments about everything else. Luckily, the other guy came out with the cowboy hat and took over. And everything was fine after that. But Jesus Christ, when people are donating items for you guys to sell, you don't sit there and make shitty comments about everything they are donating. I will donate elsewhere from now on because of this employee.

A Le Suit was priced well over $100, along with other items. Like I'm sorry, since when did used become "luxury resale adjacent"? A few items were reasonable, but the majority felt like someone discovered a pricing gun and a dream. At that point, just say you're a boutique and stand in it. Whoever is pricing at this location either needs retraining...or a gentle reintroduction to what the word thrift actually means. A true disappointment.

A fantastic place to donate items - free residential pickup!…read moreMy mother is moving back east so I needed to help her get rid of almost all of her furniture so I called Hospice Thrift Shoppes. The person on the phone was very friendly and explained what items they would look for and the movers themselves would make the final decision on certain items. It was easy to arrange a date and the movers themselves will call you about a half hour before they arrive. While they mainly focus on furniture, they will take up to 3 boxes of smaller items like clothing, cutlery, dishes, etc but furniture is the priority and they might not have enough space for something in a box (which could be dropped off at the store more easily). They are prompt and professional, but can be super affable if you are nice as well. I would suggest letting them play their own music or whatever, it's good to have some cold bottled water to give them if you can. We had two movers come today and they were LOVELY! We joked around and helped out where we could, we provided ziploc bags for the various nuts and bolts that came with certain furnishings. Small things like this can make a huge difference in their day and all interactions. They helped me take down a wall mounted flatscreen tv, so make sure to have some tools on hand they can use if you need to take anything apart! I absolutely recommend this as a way to inexpensively get rid of furniture if you have nowhere else to donate. This should be your FIRST CALL before all others! *Note* They do not take beds/mattresses, really big/giant items, couches with patterns (they prefer solid color) and try to avoid too much glass. Again it'll be up to the movers to decide what works for the stores. They pick up and pretty much immediately drive it to the store so there is no time to fix anything or whatever. I am going to check out one of their stores later to actually see the selection, it seems they have a good eye for things so I wouldn't be surprised that you could find some great items (especially clothing!).
