This is probably one of the smallest and not as clean Goodwills I have been to. There is a large parking lot, which is nice, but it can get pretty crowded with the people coming in and out. The selection is VERY limited and it feels kind of dirty and disorganized in here, despite the usual items being organized by category and size. Staff helping me at the register was friendly. I think you're better off going to Salvation Army next door. read more

I have visited this store numerous times since they did a floor move and changed the fixtures around. I used to buy stuff here all the time before they moved stuff around. Decided to go out of my way and go to this Pleasant Hill location. What a gem!! On my first visit I scored some Adidas Samba OG Kith classics & a vintage Coach wallet, among other things. On my second visit, I scored...LISTEN UP...an authentic Longchamp Le Pliage in excellent condition for $10, some cute Saks Fifth Avenue sandals, a Free People wool hat, & some 100% linen pants. I've seen so many amazing brands while there...Rag & Bone, Anthropologie, Patagonia, Aritzia among others. Remember, Tuesdays they give seniors a 30% discount...I took my mom!!! One of the better Goodwill stores I've been to. It was organized and clean and I didn't notice any clutter. I also found a lot of good bargain buys for thrift store prices. (3pc deviled egg platters for $9.99, a pair of brand new butter melters for $2.99, etc...) Staff were friendly. They do have a private parking lot but shared with other businesses. It was pretty packed for a mid-week non-peak hour. Lucked out and found parking right up front, though. Street parking also available if you don't mind the walk. It was a good first visit. After browsing for an hour I found out there were no fitting rooms! Also all women's dresses were at least $30, at least for those few that did have price tags on them. Really unpleasant man at the donation drop off. Was a total control freak about lining our car up exactly. I asked him why it matters since we will be taking the items out of our car and putting in their basket. He literally had no work to do as I unloaded so why did he care so much? Only to exhibit control. No thank you! Sir, let me remind you that I'm giving these items for free so goodwill can sell them and pay your paycheck. Stop acting disrespectful to people donating. It's just as easy to drive across the street to Salvation Army, or down the road to hospice thrift shop or St Paul's. There's a lot of choices to bring my donations to and Goodwill is no longer it. We need better pricing at Goodwill. I don't know if it's coming from corporate or people on site but $9.99 for a women's used long sleeve t-shirt that is less expensive at Walmart or on sale at Target is not ideal. $8.99 for a cheap plastic used kids toy - should be a buck. In doing some spring cleaning, my husband and I had a ton of clothes and shoes we wanted to give away. The staff here was amazing and we even found a few kitchen items we liked that we ended up getting. Overall, everything was very organized and we appreciate having places like this in the community, especially given these times we're living in. read more

This is an A-OK Goodwill. I like the donation center (on the side of the building), and it is easy to load and unload from its location. Some of the employees at the donation center are sticklers for the rules and will deny certain items that other ones will accept. I know Goodwill has standards, but I think the enforcing of those standards is inconsistent. In my case I consider it a win as more of my donations will get accepted than rejected because of this inconsistency. The store leaves a bit to be desired though. It is busy often, messy, and slow lines. The messy aspect is because of the business I'd assume, its hard to put things back in order when customers prefer to scatter everything and leave it laying around. Still, that is part of presentation and something that retail shops need to do. I've gotten to the point that when I want to actually shop at a Goodwill I'll skip this one and go to the one on Clayton Road even though it can be a bit out of my way. I will also look at what they sell online too, sometimes they have some good deals. read more

I had a very positive experience with goodwill. They took our stuff with no expectations; it was super easy! Staff was friendly as well.

For a dare I needed rubber rain boots. On Tuesday, I entered this Goodwill. Low and behold, a beautiful shining pair of almost new rain boots sat upon the shelf. On Wednesday, yes the next day, I found out that I had been successfully put onto the elite discotheque guest list for Thursday. Yes, the Thursday after the current Wednesday. Now, for me that wasn't a big deal. I happen to have a disco outfit ready at all times. However, I suddenly needed an entire disco outfit for a boy and in less than 24 hours. I grabbed him and we set out on a mission. I considered going into the Salvation Army store next door because I had just been to the goodwill the day before. SA was closed. Drat. I slowly made my way back over to the goodwill, carrying my empty case of optimism. Our first stop was in the men's shoes. I made my way around the rack. At the bottom I spied an almost orange leather slip on shoe. It looked rather large but screamed 70's. I picked it up and the size inside read "10". Now, the boy wears a 12 so my hope sank. I dropped it on the floor and told him to try it just in case. It fit. I felt a little burst of joy and then realized that there was only one groovy shoe in this equation. I dug around and its mate appeared under a few other lone rangers. Now pants. There is no rhyme or reason, just hangers and hangers of pants. I scanned for anything loud or bell bottomed. I pulled out a few pairs. The boy grabbed one and headed into the nearest dressing closet. I could hear him struggling with the first pair he had grabbed. I started un-hooking an interesting pair of trousers I had just discovered. No size. Hmpff. I threw them over the top of the door and told him to give them a shot. The next thing I heard was giggling. Me, "I hear you giggling in there." Him, "Uh, yep. I'm giggling alright." He swung the door open and oh my goodness. I was suddenly audience to the most sexy pair of polyester slacks that I've ever seen in real life. They somehow knew exactly where to be snug in all the wrong but oh so right places. I started cracking up. Me, "Oh those are them. Score." Next the top and again, just a sea of hangers. I was looking for the biggest collar I could find. A shirtless guy entered the store, followed closely behind by a guy with a sideways cap on. They were both giggling. I think the ambiance was a bit too much for them though; the latter turned around and headed right back out. Shirtless one yelled out, "Haaeyyyy, where you going?" Sideways cap yelled back, "There's a liquor store right over there." Shirtless got excited and bolted towards the door. I resumed my collar hunt. I was not having any luck. Then the boy held up a lovely, pale yellow top. Complete with orange embroidery and front stomach pockets. I giggled again. "What is that?" He shrugged. He put it on and buttoned it entirely too much. I ripped it open a few buttons and I knew we were set. They even had a braided leather belt in stock. Although it probably won't be seen much, it is hiding under there. $25 We both ran to the car and pulled out the hand sanitizer. The donating process at this location was one of the best we've ever had. We called in a few hours beforehand to make sure they were accepting donations as many locations have certain donation hours or are at capacity. When we arrived, we saw the designated donation area clearly marked and someone actually came out with a cart to help us bring things in. Super happy with the experience as it has been surprisingly difficult to find easy places to donate to. I can't speak to how the actual store is but I'll definitely be back to donate! read more

This review is for every Goodwill store and their corrupt leaders. How on earth can one justify the constant price hike at Goodwill stores. Everything is off the roof and this supposed to be an organisation tending to the need of underprivileged in the society. How can a single mother of several kids afford anything at your stores? Your prices are even higher than Target and Ross.The corporate leaders that have no empathy and compassion keep lining their pockets and getting outrageous pay increase everytime. This organisation sucks and I think it is time for FTC to look closely into the atrocities going on. I was surprised at how customer focused a Goodwill store can be! The employees greet the people who walk in the door and are pleasant and friendly at the cash wrap. Items are organized and don't have price tags -- just colored plastic tagging barbs that correspond to the prices posted at the end of the racks. You can donate items in the back and ask for a donation slip. There is parking both in the lot that is shared with other businesses, as well as parking on the side streets. read more

Stopped by to leave a donation of shoes, clothes and lots of household items. There was a long line to drop off as they have you stop at sign and wait for the attendent! Atleast thecsin says to wait for attendent but he is off doing other stuff. Mind me hevis working but if u have a ling line and it says to wait someone should be attending. You have to ask where to put stuff because he gives no direction. Shoes and clothes are seperated in ine bin household in another. After i unloaded a few bags i remembered i forgot 1 bag in my back seat and literally just made a u turn and walked across the street to drop off bag. No one was outside dropping off they were in there car. I tried to hand him bag he did not take so i walked over to put in bin. He told me in a smart tone that next time i needed to wait in line!! hmmm i did! I explained i was in line but forgot an item and did not want to wait again. He said NO i saw you park across the street you were not in line!! OMG made me angry! Here i took the time to bring nice stuff and i am treated like crap! Next donation i will go to Hospice my go to! I like getting really involved with my job. Sometimes I get to dress up for things like Awards Ceremonies, Conventions, Luncheons. Anything that can have some kind of theme attached to it Ill try and dress up for it. I have a Convention that is themed "Winter Wonderland." So my first thought was get an old wedding dress and then sew on dazzling bling to make my a fancy new Winter Princess Gown. Well their selection of gowns was quite large and there was one in particular that would have been perfect....if it was 2 sizes smaller. The skirt was so perfect. It so billowy and bouncy. It was just to big and it was $70.00. Not worth the effort to bring it in and then make it into the Winter Ice Queen gown I needed it to be. If it had fit then I would be telling you a different story. I'm scouring the consignments for that perfect wedding gown for the right price and fit. read more

Yes folks they've been renovated. But best I can tell renovations only included an automatic door, moving of the dressing room from one side to another, splitting up the counter and moving some of the racks around. Same place, same vibe. I don't really see much difference overall. I don't come here so much because I've found that they're a little high priced for items that aren't checked for rips and stains (and I've found plenty). I also dislike how they staple the tags to the clothing. They do however have a great shoe section which has only grown after the renovation, but again the shoes are high priced for used footwear. So three stars for their hours and their new automatic doors. The old one's kinda scared me. read more

I make a lot of my Goodwill drop-off donations here. So much so, that Gayle has joked that my picture must be posted here as "Our Benefactor". That may be a bit of an overstatement, although I do reorganize my "stuff" fairly frequently. This Goodwill is convenient (on the side street) for easy drive in and out donations. The folks at the donation site will question a little bit more than the folks at say the truck behind Nob Hill in Martinez or the El Cerrito Recycling Center, but my goods usually pass their test. Very easy to drop off donations. It's done on the side street of the store (don't park in the parking lot). There's ample loading space, the street is wide and not too busy. It took me less than 2 mins to offload 3 boxes of goods. Thank you for making it easy to donate and offload things I no longer need, but that might be used for a good cause. read more

Despite their rennovations, I'd still have to say this place is shady, and a bit unorganized. Unlike their Dublin countertop things aren't really itemized or coordinated by color. So I guess if you really want to find something you gotta dig. I was able to find a t-shirt for the 90's party I'm throwing but that's about it. ONE DOLLA MAKES ME HOLLA Whether or not the higher-ups of this not-for-profit business are making a lot of money, I support Goodwill because 1) I like discounted items, 2) its important to reuse, 3) the company hires people who may otherwise face challenges with employment. This Goodwill in particular can be disorganized at times, mostly due to its rather large size. For the most part, houseware and clothing are kept separate, so I can't complain if slacks are mixed in with jeans. I'm more likely to shop for clothes in Walnut Creek or Danville thrift stores anyhow, unless I'm looking for new Burning Man outfits; but those usually find me without much searching. On that note, I've scored some amazing and fun pieces of desert clothing in this store. And I have fun walking around it, even when I leave empty-handed. read more
