I love Chicken pad Thai from Big Bowl, and when I saw it on this menu I figured I would give it a try I knew not to expect it to be as good, but omg these was the worst I have ever had the noodles were overly cooked and just a few pieces of chicken with no flavor at all. When I'm sick, all I want is comfort food. Old school Chinese take out is one of my favorites and when I'm sick, the house knows I'm going to order take out. GL has good solid take-out and the price is right. The food isn't greasy or over salted. I will say I always ask for extra hot for some of the dishes that are listed as "hot" because their regular "hot" is kind of tame to me and my husband. Faves: BBQ Fried Rice. I could just eat a small carton of this for dinner. Lots of BBQ pork, good amount of scrambled egg. Not greasy. Hot and Sour Soup. Full of bamboo shoots, mushrooms, pork and tofu. Great flavor, nice heat. Perfect for when you need to feel comforted. Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. Nice sized shrimp--they don't skimp. The sauce has a great flavor with the black beans. The OK: The egg rolls. Pork, Shrimp and Cabbage. This are hit or miss sometimes. Sometimes the wrapper is a bit soft, sometimes it's perfectly crispy. The flavor though is always good. Sweet and Sour Chicken. The chicken pieces must go the way of the egg roll, sometimes the coating is a little mushy, sometimes its perfectly crispy. And I usually like more pineapple in the sauce--that's just my personal preference. A solid A-town joint. read more

Very Good and I am not a huge Chinese Food fan. A lot of places will give you low quality and low quantity meat in a dish of all onions. In these cases, I am like "if I wanted a whole plate of stir fried onions, i'd make or order a plate of stir fried onions". Anyway, I digress. Good Luck Chop Suey is not like this. There are generous portions of meat as well as all of the other good things involved. This is why they are the only Chinese restaurant I order from. The flavors are great (maybe this is because it isn't 80% onions). The ingredients are very fresh as well. About once a year I elect to try a new place (or retry an old) and I am always disappointed and return to Good Luck Chop Suey. They are also open to customized orders. I get Mongolian Beef, minus yellow onions, green onions are okay, add peanuts with 3 small cups of the spicy oil and it is perfect Every Time! The Kung Pao is great too. Oh and what's funny is that they'll say "please allow 30 - 45 minutes" and 15 minutes (or less) later there is a knock at the door. Everything tasted stale and we ordered the Hawaiian and BBQ pork fried rice and it was dry, stale, and it tasted like freezer burn. The Crab Rangoon and Potstickers tasted stale and like they were re-fried as if reheated from the other day. First time ordering food from Good Luck Chop Suey. The food took 70 min to get here on a Friday night which is not bad. The food was burnt and over cooked shrimp, the egg rolls soggy. The only thing that was good enough to eat was the pot stickers. I called and ask for a refund and was told no. He offered me pot stickers and crab cakes. My bill was 70$ WTF is that. He told that they burn it on purpose and that they have lot of customers that love that way. I told him that he can come pick up the food and see it. They were open early unbeknownst to me ( 10 minutes to be exact) and took my order and money and said come back in twenty minutes, they arent open yet. I would like to have known that as all i ordered was a small vegetable delight and small egg drop soup. I rather be sitting in a drive thru knowing my food is being prepared than waiting for them to feel like making my order. A coworker told me about this place. There's a handy online order process for take out. I got food here 3 times. The quality was just ok, the quantity was a lot. Because I can't eat all the food in 1 meal, I asked for extra chop sticks. They wanted to charge me $0.25 for an extra pair. I don't think so. We usually call a place in Villa Park, but decided to give Good Luck a try. We were very disappointed. We live less than 2 miles from them, but the food was not hot when we received it. The egg drop soup was good. I love crab rangoon and actually usually eat it as an entree. Unfortunately, not this time. Besides it was cold and I had to zap it in the microwave, I did not like the taste and ended up eating one and throwing them away. The Mongolian Beef was horrible. Ordered a large and it was hardly a medium. Hardly any beef, low on veggies which tasted like they've been sitting around for days, super oily/greasy. Ordered extra spicy; mild at best. Came with fried rice which was oily, dirty tasting, and tasted like it was yesterday's batch. When you order Mongolian beef it should have tons of beef, lots of FRESH veggies, and taste clean like it was just made. Not like it's been around for a week. Good egg drop soup; that's it. Ordered delivery. Won Ton Soup was above average and very tasty. Sweet Sour Chicken was just OK. The Chicken was a little dry and the batter average at best. The sauce was "different" as it had a watery consistency but did the job. The Beef Peapod was bland but edible. Good Chinese Food. We were running late and were expecting friends over. Last minute they wanted Chinese, so I ordered delivery. Food arrived super fast and hot. We had ordered the crab rangoon's, egg rolls, hot and sour soup, chicken with hot garlic sauce, Mongolian beef and got a free order of the General Tso's Chicken. A lot of food for 4 people, and all was good. At some Chinese places the food is so bland that each menu item tastes the same, that wasn't the case here. This is what we get for being too lazy to drive to our favorite Chinese restaurant (Hoys in Bensenville). Live less than half a mile away from Good Luck so decided to try them. Ordered shrimp lomein but needed to get some glasses or a magnifying glass to find the shrimp. Even though we payed for EXTRA shrimp there were only a couple of them. Also got a veggie lomein and this one wasn't any better. The noodles on both tasted undercooked. We also did order some pot stickers and they were okay except for the fact that literally only a tiny piece of pork in each. Not to mention we ordered online and were told about 15 mins. 7mins later got a call to say it was going to be another 30mins, we get there and get told another 10mins. Needless to say, first and last time we order from here. Didn't finish any of the food ordered... Pretty much threw my money away. read more

I don't know what happened here but I have been ordering from them for years and the food was always great but the last 3 times it has really been off. I don't know if they have new owners or new cooks but the rice tastes like card board and the egg rolls I don't know just not good anymore..... Not sure what to do cause we have been regular customer for years but I think we are going to have to try a new place...My family is really upset because we always enjoyed their food but there is definitely something different and not for the better!!!!!!!!
