Facials at Good Face are the best I have had in New York so far. I first tried this place last year. At the time, I was struggling with bumps under my skin for a while. In the past, I was told that I needed to wait for these bumps to go away on their own during facials at very reputable places. However, they never did. Lori was AMAZING. I did a facial and a microderm and found her through Lifebooker and I'm so lucky that I did. I had been going to Bliss 57 (and paying a fortune) and they were very pushy with their products and not very thorough. Lori took her time and really examined my skin and listened to what I was doing and was very thoughtful about what I could do going forward. The microderm was a long and thorough process, I didn't feel like it was rushed at all. She also finished with a really lovely massage. I'm so happy Good Face opened up in my neighborhood! I had a fantastic facial with micro-derm and a light peel and my skin looked and felt amazing for days. I don't often treat myself, so when I do, it's really important to me that the experience is top notch, and this absolutely was. The salon is tucked away next to the Williamsburg Bridge but easy to find. The vibe is just right too, tastefully decorated, calm and soothing. Hands down, the BEST facial I've every had. Most spas put a mask on you, then walk away for 15 minutes. But Lori gives you an arm massage while the mask sets in! Had a great facial today at Good Face! Lori really knows what she is doing and had some really interesting and informed insights into my skin and what it needs. Relaxing and the extractions weren't painful. nice arm and hand massage. great space-thought i would get lost trying to find it but I didn't-you can see a Good Face sign down the stairs from the street. She doesn't push products but has great products for sale. I bought a couple, a mask and an exfoliant. Amazing price! At the moment, she is running a sale- $50 for a facial. There are a few times that I've actually been happy with a spa treatment and this is the one time I have no complaints. This is the only time that I have had a facial treatment that really goes above and beyond my expectations! I suffer from oily skin and clogged pores and many times I've had aestheticians ignore or not understand my skin issues, but not here! This was my first time getting a microdermabrasion treatment and peel and I was nervous at first but it turned out great and my skin looked and felt so much better! Lori is a wonderful aesthetician, she understood my individual skin concerns and tailored the facial to suit them. She was really warm and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Okay, you read these reviews. You think, clearly this woman is just paying these folks off. No, no she's not. You read the very few poor reviews, and you realize that this woman is a real class act. First of all, a facialist who doesn't try to sell you hundreds of dollars of products immediately is like finding a unicorn. It's unheard of. Second of all, instead of leaving with blotchy skin from a few places I've been, I leave with brighter more moisturized skin. Extractions, but no damage or redness? IT DOES EXIST. Basically a lymph drainage massage built into the facial with shoulder and hand massages too. And then she throws in some aromatherapy. Seriously, the products she uses are amaze. Now let's talk about the music. I feel like I'm at a yoga retreat, but way better since I am you know not struggling with Warrior 3. She really takes her time to tell you what she thinks would be good for your skin. Also, please note that the woman seems to be devoid of wrinkles. I have now been numerous times to see Lori, and absolutely swear by her. She is so gentle & lovely. And also incredibly knowledgeable. I bought a lifebooker deal for Good Face for my birthday. Making an appointment was quick and easy online - even when I had to reschedule it. It's located in a converted warehouse and the ambiance is great. High ceilings, columns, exposed ductwork. The decor was nice, relaxing and calming. I showed up about 2 mintues early for my facial and Lori let me it, offered me water and set up the room. The facial was awesome. Lori is amazing. I've always had trouble with acne but never gotten a facial before, so I decided to treat myself and I'm so glad I did. She makes you feel completely comfortable, talks you through each step of the process, gives an amazing massage and really cleans all the junk out of your face. I was super red afterwards and stayed red the whole rest of the day/night, but redness is not unusual for my skin and even though it was red it was fresh and clean and felt smooth.
