Chris's noodle bowl plus a fun drink
    Sophie T.

We were taking a day to explore Skaneateles, the most charming town in the US, and wanted some (actually) good eats at a unique restaurant. We were pointed along to GOOD Eats and Sips. The entire menu looked so delicious. I got Chris's noodle bowl and then couldn't decide on one of the many drinks so I asked if they recommended any-- they made me one that was no longer on the menu... and I believe it had gummy bear or something in the name? The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the service, the trendy atmosphere, and healthy menu. -- @cophiescrumbs on Instagram

Super tasty food, very filling. They make the best gluten free cookies and their ice teas are amazing. Great place for a quick bite to eat in downtown Skaneateles. There's seating inside as well.

My mother and I happened upon this place while out on a shopping day & looking for a place with something refreshing to drink. I was mainly looking for somewhere with bubble tea... but we arrived, looked at the menu, and opted to both grab something to eat too. We ended up both ordering taro blueberry bubble teas, then she ordered a 'Alex's Spring Roll Noodle Bowl' ($15), while I ordered a 'Antoun's Poke Bowl' ($15). I appreciate that GOOD Eats and Sips generally seems to cater to more healthy - especially vegan or gluten free diets - I just wasn't especially impressed. Upon receiving our bubble teas, it was clear that the non-dairy creamer used had separated at some point during the process of making our teas... so the top of the bubble tea was covered with curd-like bits. My mother thought the noodle bowl was good, and my poke bowl was okay. It was quite a small bowl for the $15 price point (I can usually get something at least 2x the size for that price - whether from one of my "go to" poke places, or from places I'll find while out and about). The salmon pieces were large chunks - 4 or 5 of them - which were somewhat difficult to get all mixed into the bowl and eat. It'd be nice if the salmon pieces were cut into smaller pieces so that they could be more manageable while eating. It's entirely possible I've been spoiled by having been to some really delicious, healthy spots that offer vegan or gluten free offerings (I don't have those dietary restrictions myself, but have plenty of friends that do - and so frequently enjoy those types of eateries), so maybe that's why GOOD Eats and Sips just doesn't stand out for me... I don't know. What I do know is that I was really quickly put off by the curdled looking non-dairy creamer on top of my bubble tea, and the rest of the experience just kinda fell in line as a bit disappointing. :-/ TL;DR Not on my list of eateries that I'm in a rush to return to, sorry.

Such a cute spot tucked into a tiny plaza in Skaneateles ACROSS from the lake! I got a tofu salad and the crispy tofu was perfection. The staff was friendly. They golden milk latte was very tasty. Some tables are quite close but there are roomy spots in the bac. Kid friendly to!

What a cute place across from the park. We ordered our latte, coffee, and boba tea and sat around the center bar while we waited for our drinks. I really liked how you ordered up front but then picked up the drinks at the coffee bar in the back, as it encouraged even takeout orderers to come inside and sit a while. The lattes were good, and another party member really enjoyed their boba milk tea. We took them across the street and walked down the pier to watch the fish and the birds. I would happily visit again.

We all enjoyed this restaurant! Fresh healthy food that we took away to eat at the lake front. The servers were welcoming and great to answer questions that we had. We will definitely return!

My favorite place to grab lunch and quick healthy snacks while in Skaneateles! The power bites and chia seed pudding are so delicious. The salad bowls are great for a fresh and healthy meal. I also enjoy the organic matcha lattes! It is a little bit pricey but worth knowing the food is good quality!

I love the variety of food this restaurant offers! Also love that you can order online for pickup at a specific time and can totally customize every order and add things that you like. Creative menu choices with lots of healthy options.

    Iced caramel macchiato with Oatmilk

I've been here twice hope visiting from FL and love it especially since it has options for those who want to eat a little healthier. I had their sugar milk boba tea which was amazing and also caramel macchiato with Oatmilk. The only dish I've had there twice bc I love it so much is Don's (I think?) Hangover noodle bowl and I highly recommend it. My husband has had their bagel sandwiches which he liked. The cafe is small but very cute, cozy and inviting. They have wifi too so it's the perfect place to get work done or be on your laptop. I'll be back when I'm back in New York!

I got a table quickly without any waiting, which was surprising with how busy the town was. The place was cozy it's not huge inside but they did have a few seating outside which was nice for a hot day like today. We all ordered sangrias, they were great(no spirits here). We all shared small plates and ordered our own pizzas. The fries and calamari were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I loved the different sauces that came with them. I would get these again. My friends enjoyed the gnocchi, it took awhile for it to come out(waitress said they were training), we were not in any rush it was our girls night. They enjoyed it. Two of us ordered Sam's Favorite and one Blueberry. My friend split a slice of her sister's blueberry pizza with me, it was different but not in a bad way. We thought it was good. The different flavors complement each other. I enjoyed the Sam's Favorite, loved the kick of heat from the fresno peppers. We were full but made a little room for dessert lol, all three order the pot de crème. I will never turn down chocolate lol, it was delicious. Overall the food was good and friendly service, I can see this as date night spot for my husband and I. I enjoy a place like this because the menu is not overwhelming.

Well before it's charming renovation, back to when it had leather bar stools at the bakery counter and Jim in the back making the best apple fritters you've ever had. I come whenever I'm in town and it's always good. I think more than anything I come for the nostalgia. The Rice Krispie treats are always a solid pick and I enjoy them a lot. Same with the smiley face cookies, the bakery frosting is the best. I got a parfait for the first time since high school though and was sorely disappointed. They used to use wake robin yogurt (which I do remember them discontinuing some years ago), but now the yogurt is SO sweet. Overall it makes the parfait too sweet with the homemade granola and blueberry coulis. I couldn't help but notice how much smaller the parfait portions are too. They used to be full sized cups and now they're nearly half their former size which was definitely disappointing considering the price has certainly not gone down. In summary, the bakery will always hold a special place in my heart. Been going since I was a baby. The treats are good, sandwiches are solid, and they have a wide variety of beverages. Steer clear of the updated parfait though

We sat out on the porch, with views out over the water. Our server, Amy, was really attentive. Food was very good. We got the Bavarian pretzels appetizer, and the mustard sauce was delicious. Our server brought out a warm loaf of bread to go with the salads, which was a nice touch. Our entrees were exactly as described (Bluewater burger and Crab Cake sandwich), arrived just as we finished salads, and very good. The prices were totally reasonable. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the experience at Blue Water Grill in Skaneateles was so…read moreremarkably disorganized and dismissive that it deserves to be documented. After waiting well over an hour, our main courses still had not arrived. What made the situation even more unbelievable was that a manager approached our table to ask whether we wanted dessert before our entrées had even made it out of the kitchen. That level of disconnect perfectly summarized the entire evening. To make matters worse, we overheard the manager referencing our table and casually saying, 'they'll be alright,' as if ignoring customers for an excessive amount of time was somehow acceptable hospitality. Nothing says 'professional restaurant management' quite like openly dismissing paying guests within earshot. What made the situation even more frustrating is that we specifically needed to eat our main courses at the restaurant because our hotel does not have a microwave and we were on a timeline. The only positive part of the experience was our waitress, Amy, who remained polite, professional, and clearly did her best in an environment that appeared poorly managed. She was the one bright spot in an otherwise embarrassing dining experience. Mistakes and delays happen in restaurants. But poor communication, indifference, and openly dismissive management are what turned this from an inconvenience into a night we genuinely regretted spending there, especially on my birthday weekend.

I had…read morebeen reluctant to try it because most places that are hyped as much as Rosalie's has been over the past 30 years tend to disappoint, in my experience. Nope, not this time. Rosalie's is the rare exception that lives up to the hype and more. We arrived early for our reservation to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. From my brother's well-made Manhattan to my perfectly balanced Sidecar, the barmaid had some serious chops. And the impossibly long, thin, and crunchy breadsticks were unlike any I'd ever had. Addicting. Although it bills itself as an "Authentic Tuscan dining" restaurant (which the décor lives up to), the menu at Rosalie's is more Tuscan-influenced or maybe Tuscan-adjacent than strictly authentic Tuscan cuisine. There were grilled polenta and grilled, prosciutto-wrapped shrimp panzanella appetizers (which my sister-in-law ordered for her entrée; see below), but no baccalà or cacciucco or polpo. There was veal piccata, but also Sicily's veal Marsala and Southern Italian/Italian-American staples like manicotti and pizza margherita. I mention this to inform prospective diners, however, not to warn them off. The food at Rosalie's is amazing. One word to the wise: the serving portions are enormous. We were a party of three and ordered the carpaccio and grilled polenta appetizers and the antipasto affetati e formaggio as starters. That could have been our entire meal and we would have been very happily well-fed. We literally had trouble fitting all three on the table. The carpaccio was a huge portion and came on a gigantic plate. It was amongst the best I've ever had. The polenta had a perfectly char-grilled crust, yet remained nicely moist inside. But the antipasto easily stole the show. It came on a giant board that took up a quarter of the table and had enough "nibbles" to feed a family of five. Everything was superb, from the cured meats to the aged and fresh cheeses to the massive mound of shelled pistachios, but the little jar of honey was exceptional, especially when slathered on a hunk of the oven-fresh loaf of bread that was brought to the table as soon as we sat down. For the primi piatti we skipped the insalata and went with the zuppa del giorno, a deliciously rich cream of wild mushroom. The funghi were puréed, not whole, and the layers of flavor (was that a hint of sherry?) were sublime. That soup could easily do double duty as a sauce for game dishes, like venison or wild boar. For the secondi piatti, my brother and I went with the Maiale alla Milanese (pan-fried pork loin, roasted fingerling potatoes, wilted spinach, prosciutto, oven cured tomatoes, green beans, with a Dijon crab cream sauce), whilst my sister-in-law chose the Gamberi Grigliati di Panzanella appetizer (three grilled prosciutto-wrapped shrimp, panzanella salad with tomatoes, onions, olives, anchovy croutons, feta cheese, basil, lemon vinaigrette) mentioned above, which was easily an entrée-sized serving at most restaurants. The pork cutlets were served hot and had a perfect crispy crust while remaining juicy and tender inside, which is hard to pull off with cutlets hammered to a centimeter thick. My sister-in-law reported that, like the polenta, the shrimp had a nice char from the grill, but remained tender and succulent. My brother and I are notoriously big eaters, but we had already been served so much food that we needed to take home half our entrées if we were to have dessert. And you MUST save room for dessert! Alas, although we originally intended to try a selection of desserts, like the rest of the dishes, the portions were ginormous, so the three of us split a banana budino...and ended up taking half of it home! A word about the budino: although I was accustomed to budino being a cross between a soufflé and a lava cake (with lemon curd or gooey chocolate filling) cooked in a Bain Marie, this dessert was more akin to a mousse. Described as a house-made cinnamon-sugar phyllo shell filled with layers of fresh bananas, banana cream pudding and almond cookies, finished with caramel sauce and almond cookie garnish, the best word for this is decadent. The best word to describe the ambiance at Rosalie's is vitality. While some people think it is "loud," I think that's overstating it. The restaurant is small and is bustling with life. There were couples dining alone and two large, multi-generational families filling long tables set for ten and fourteen, respectively. Between the décor, the exceptional service (thank you, Eric!), and the other diners, I felt like I was back in Northern Italy for a few hours. This was one of the best meals I've had in my life and I strongly recommend you go out of your way to dine at Rosalie's.
