We didn't see the drink menus, very easy to overlook as you walk in and approach the counter. There were no menus at the counter so we asked lots of questions and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. The interior is clean and bright with lots of windows. I ordered an iced latte, 16 oz with syrup. We were drinking it there so we didn't get disposable cups. Mine was served in a clear glass ball jar and looked very large and had almost no color beyond that of the milk. We both tried the drink and it was like sweet milk. There was definitely not a good ratio of espresso to milk. I love coffee and espresso and while I am sure others will love this, it was definitely not something we would ever order again. We saw some of the food items, which looked very nice and when we come back we'll try the food and a different type of drink.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning and it was quite busy! The setup offers a cozy cafe vibe with several couches, an electric fireplace and plenty of seating. Ordering takes place at the counter and then you wait for your food/drinks. They offer a variety of smoothies, crepes, sandwiches, coffee drinks and pastries. I wanted to try a bit of everything, so we opted for a smoothie, a crepe with maple syrup and fruit, and a chicken wrap. The smoothie was huge and very good! My daughter definitely enjoyed it. The crepe was ok... I thought the fruit was going to be in the crepe, but it was just a basic crepe with maple syrup and the fruit in the side. For $14, I expected more. My husband's wrap was also small for the price. For $13, you should at least get potato chips on the side. I would definitely come back for coffee and a baked good and just to hang out, but I think some things are overpriced for what you get. They are also very kid friendly, offering a small kids menu, and they had a coloring station, board games and children's books. This would be a good place to stop in and read a book or get some work done.

Hard to review a place during their soft opening. This family has been communicating with the community about plans as well as the opening of this beautiful new cafe right behind Kinneys on Genesee St in the village of Baldwinsville. There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating. The interior is bright and welcoming. The menu includes both breakfast items as well as lunch items. The staff are being trained as they work and you can tell they are trying hard to work out the kinks and please the public. Looks to be in a good spot as the place was lively when I stopped for coffee. Coffee was good.

Visiting Shamballa Cafe today really makes me wonder: why do I even bother with chain coffee shops?…read more First and foremost: the coffee is awesome! I went with what was in the vat today: a medium roast that I believe was called blue moon. I forget the provenance of said roast (I remember it was South American), but my oh my was it good! Exactly what you want a medium roast to be: balanced, with notes of whatever chocolate or berries or leather is in there. I couldn't put the cup down! Whereas getting the sludge from the big chains down the gullet sometimes feels like a morning chore. Why is the coffee so good here? It turns out that the owner (a very friendly guy named Emmett) roasts it himself. He had several varieties on offer that were roasted within the last 24 hours, maybe even this morning. That particular minutiae is a blur as I wasn't caffeinated yet when we discussed this. But it's yet another huge benefit a local cafe provides: freshness! Another thing: Shamballa is a great restorer of faith in community and our fellow humans. Emmett and I discussed many things in my fairly brief time in his shop, but I'll never forget the empathy he displayed when discussing some current trials & tribulations. It turns out he's been down the same road, and his well-wishes and kindness made for an even finer accompaniment to the coffee than the coffee cake muffin pairing that was purchased on impulse. A double espresso was consumed on-site while 2 large coffees were taken to go. The espresso was awesome, 100x better than Sbux or Dunkin'. Total for 3 beverages? Less than $8! For later, I grabbed a 1/2 lb. of whole bean Guatemalan medium roast on Emmett's recommendation, and the coffee cake muffin was moist and delicious without being too crumbly or cloyingly saccharine. Drake's it was not! A ten spot covered the latter purchase. If I lived in Baldwinsville, I'd probably stop by here every morning! Except Sunday and Monday when they're closed. Be sure to arrive early, closing time is now noon. Please swing by Shamballa and see for yourself! Perhaps you too will ponder why we make grabbing coffee a chore, when it can be a true morning delight?

There are daily specials as well as a regular menu. I opted to go with a small spinach salad, you can choose larger small, as well as a cup of tomato basil soup. The salad was magnificent and beautifully arranged, and the soup was delicious. The atmosphere is really nice and in the warmer weather there are seats out in the back and on the front porch. The women running this establishment are lovely and aim to please. We ordered at the counter and they brought our food out all at the same time , no small feet since there were about 12 of us. Will definitely return when I'm in the area.

Helpful and Friendly staff with delicious food to keep you coming back. We had a couple of sandwiches which were simply lovely. A nice variety of sides, we got Mac salad and the Orzo, both delightful and reminding us of summer during this tough winter. We brought some homemade cookies home and yeah, you need to get some of those too. Absolutely wonderful experience, absolutely adorable cafe and we are very excited to return soon! Enjoy!!

It's pretty cool, then, to see new little spots like Daisy's popping up right after the new bike and pedestrian trail built over the old trolley line opened. Coincidence? Maybe! But if you're passing through rural Rensselaer county on your bike and feeling a little peckish, then Daisy's is an excellent new breakfast and lunch option just a short distance off the trail. Daisy's is brand new, so there are still kinks to work out -- our lovely waitress was struggling with her fancy electronic ordering machine, and there was a lot of confused running around in the kitchen. The food, though, was absolutely solid. My mom was a bit skeptical about the price of her BLT before she ordered, but took it back once she received her gigantic sandwich made with perfectly fresh ingredients and served with a mound of some of the tastiest Mac salad that either of us had ever had (plus a bag of chips!). My cup of the soup of the day was hot and flavorful (if slightly over over salted). The weakest link in the whole meal was the oddly soft hard roll for my breakfast sandwich: I'd ask for it toasted next time. Daisy's also serves local Tierra Farms coffee, which is a nice touch, and there were some really nice-looking treats in the pastry case. Overall this is a super cute little place that does a pretty good job of hitting the sweet spot between an old-fashioned small-town diner and a more modern cafe (with plans to add more vegetarian/vegan options to the menu). I'll absolutely come back, and I hope that places like this continue to open up and thrive in small communities around the region.
