I cannot believe the service here. I didn't grab a name, but the cashier today was so nice. He was so happy to see us walk in, greeted, asked about our morning. Even though we ordered to go, he walked each item over to us as it was ready with a happy, warm smile. We even said "Oh! Sorry you didnt have to bring it over!" And he said it was his job and its no problem, he was happy to. It was just so friendly! The interior is so bright, with murals and painted/decorated walls. The matcha latte was absolutely delicious. Very good first impression of Wake Up. I went in on a Sunday afternoon after placing an online order. I ordered the Ha Noi Grilled Pork bành mí and a peach refresher. Service was friendly and very quick! I was only inside for a few seconds, but the area seemed clean with several places to sit and eat. I don't have much experience with bành mís, but this was such a good meal. The dish comes with fresh matchstick carrots and radish, cucumber slices, and pork wrapped in a delicious sauce/pate (a perfect heat level). You can add jalapeño if you'd like. The baguette was light and soft, not stale or overly chewy at all. Overall very tasty, and I would order this again. The peach refresher was sweet, of course, but not excessively so; it was definitely refreshing. There appears to be chunks of white peaches at the bottom of the drink. The flavor was peachy but perhaps slightly artificial. I'd get this again, too, but would try other flavors as well. Would I return? Absolutely. This is a six star restaurant We are traveling through Syracuse and Wake Up will be a regular stop when we're on road trips. This place is incredible. The service was very friendly and fast. Finally made it to try their banh mi and coffee out, I don't get to downtown often but I was down the road running errands. I found parking right away on the street, they have two entrances. It was pretty spacious as you walk in, it was easy to order. I ordered the roasted pork belly for a few bucks more at $13, all the other sandwiches were $10. The sandwich was delicious but I wished the pickled veggies had more bite to them to balance the sandwich out. Also there were more of the veggies than meat. I tasted the pork belly by itself and it was good. My daughter and I really enjoyed the bread(perfect texture outside and inside), I know they make them in house. As for coffee I went with an iced Saigon classic. It was decent nothing crazy about it. Overall it wasn't bad, I didn't have to wait long even with a few orders ahead of me. This place is owned by the owners of New Century and if that tells you anything yall just know this place is 10/10 already. I was craving a banh mi as any Viet does during lunch time and decided to make my way here. Parking was a little difficult but challenge is to be expected for great food. I ordered the banh mi traditional combo because if you know you know this be the original with my ca phe sua da "iced Saigon classic". Well let me tell you wow this place is real good. Loved this spot! The roasted pork bánh mì was amazing -- the bread was super light and fluffy (tasted house-made), the pork belly was perfectly cooked, and the veggies were fresh. The coffee was excellent tasting but it was absolutely tiny and chock full of ice. There wasn't much coffee at all. The sandwich, while a good size, didn't wow me with how it tasted. The pate didn't have that rich flavor I was expecting. The place was clean and the people nice. Coffee tasty but tiny. Sandwich large but bland. Mixed bag. Expensive. A bright and cheerful place, Wake Up certainly has the goods to wake you up with their strong, sweet, Siagon coffee and the bright flavors of their banh mi sandwiches. The menu is short and concise - sandwiches on one board and drinks on the other. You order at the counter on the Water St side and wait for your number to be called. There is a decent amount of seating for the size of the space - a counter at the window, a group table, comfy chairs on the Erie side. The coffee itself is rich, thick, and bold. I've had the Saigon and Vegan both were SO satisfying with their sweet cream. The vegan banh mi I had was good, the tofu being juicy and the veggies crunchy, with the jalapeno being a good mouth wake up. I don't normally go for cucumbers or jalapenos but I like them in the banh mi! I sampled my spouse's BBQ pork sandwich and that REALLY sang, the fatty meat, fresh veg, thick bread all in harmony. Overall Wake Up is a delightful addition to downtown. Car parking is street parking with private paid lots nearby. There are bike racks in Hanover Square about half a block over, and it's accessible via bus. read more

The cafe has plenty of seating (2 larger tables of 6 seats, about 4 tables of 2 seats, a bar table with about 7 seats by the window, and a cozy seating area towards the back). I ordered a hot Saigon classic drink and the traditional combo banh mi. The coffee was excellent! Rich, robust coffee that was sweet and creamy. Their banh mi is made to order, with the bread made in house. It took about 15 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I received my sandwich. I came during their opening week. Even though it was early in the morning on Sunday when Syracuse is usually sleepy, they were popping! I tried a Vietnamese coffee, matcha latte, and vegan bahni mi. The staff is very friendly. There were a few orders ahead of me but they quickly churned out orders. Several places to sit and a very nice ambiance with a large accessible bathroom. There is some street parking. The sandwich had high quality ingredients but I wish the bbq pork had some more flavor to it, and some more meat in the sandwich. Such a sweet spot to stop in for a midday treat or lunch. I have to recommend their Strawberry Tea if you like drinks on the sweeter side! A refreshing fruit drink that I imagine would pair well with a banh mi; unfortunately these were sold out when I came by during their opening week but I hope to try one next time! I immediately liked this place. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and though the menu is limited to various coffees and bahn mis, there are multiple varieties of each to try. The grilled pork bahn mis was a perfect balance of flavors in a large crusty roll. The filling seemed a bit scant at first, but as you eat it, it's actually the perfect amount, making the seemingly large sandwich a surprisingly light but flavorful snack. I've only had the plain iced coffee, and I was skeptical at first, as it had a lot of ice and wasn't filled to the top - but after one sip, I saw why. The coffee is extremely strong - but in a good way. There's zero bitterness or off notes that you often see with iced coffee...it's smooth and silky, and, much like the sandwich, perfectly balanced. There's lots of seating and the decor is nice - it's a bit "overlit" for me (I tend to like it a bit darker), but I imagine they'll be tweaking things for a while as they get rolling. Highly recommend - it's nice to see a new strong business open up downtown. read more
