Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea (left), Honey Green Tea (right)
    Ethan L.

My go-to drink here is the Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea. I did get the sweetness adjusted to 70% and enjoyed it a lot more compared to the 100%. My friends got the Honey Green Tea and Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3J's. Both were delicious but the Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea still has the number 1 spot for me. The bobaristas made our drinks and moved the line very quickly even when it was busy on National Boba Day. They were also super sweet as well. There are a fair amount of tables inside to sit and I would recommend bringing a jacket as it can get cold if you are going to be there for a prolonged period of time. My only critique was the Wi-Fi was very spotty and slow so if you need strong Wi-Fi this may not be the best place. They also have a rewards program that you can sign up for by providing your phone number for deals as well.

I've been here a few times and what sets them apart from the many tea and boba shops in the same shopping center is they have unique drinks. The latest tea I tried was the mango milk tea. It's sweet, flavorful, fresh fruit, good combinations. The dragon fruit jelly didn't add anything to it. Could have done without it, or rather have mango poppers. They make the drinks fast as it's always many employees working there. Clean space. Overall, one of my go-to boba spots when I'm in the area.

Located in Dun Huang Plaza in Chinatown where there are tons of competing boba tea cafes, but this remains one of my go-to stops for my boba fix! Compared to other cafes, they offer some unique drinks with cheese foam. I ordered the mango tea with cheese foam and crystal boba. The cheese foam gave it a great salty and sweet flavor. They also give a coupon for your birthday. I definitely recommend!

I love stopping by this location for this sparkling lychee drink with star jelly 1/2 sweet & extra ice. It's so refreshing! The sitting area is very spacious and the staff are always friendly. They usually give mobile coupons and $5 off for your birthday!

The Sparkling Lychee with Mango Popping Pearls was phenomenal. As the biggest fan of anything lychee and a lover of bubbly drinks, this drink was made for me. Definitely a sweet drink and almost like a soda. Hands down the best drink ever! Gong Cha was popping at night, and there's definitely something for everyone on the menu.

One of my favorite places to get boba in Houston. I got the regular-size dirty brown sugar milk tea. The tea was really good, and I loved the brown sugar flavor in the tea itself to complement the flavor of the tapioca pearls. It's definitely on the sweeter side, but they have plenty of options to reduce the sugar content (i.e., 70%, 50%, etc.). The boba was sweet and chewy. Also, the place was nice to sit in, and has a very chill and trendy vibe. My only quibble with the place was that the price was steep, even for boba (~$5.50 for a regular size), but honestly it's worth it for the quality of the tea and boba. I was surprised the milk foam on top of the drink was sour, so would recommend asking to take that off if you don't like sour flavors. Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Chinatown!

Third time is the charm! So cliche... But it is the truth for this location. This is my third try and absolutely the best. I first tried a drink from Gong Cha a few years ago, when they first opened. I don't remember being too impressed. Ditto for the second try. The third try however has won me over. I got a pearl milk tea and the flavors were fantastic. Strong tea flavor with a milky consistency and then a hint of what tasted like caramel. So yummy! I got no sugar sweetness level and there was still a hint of sweetness from the boba. This was perfect for me. Interior is lined with tables on either side. They have board games for those interested. Music isn't too loud so you can ever have a conversation inside.

I got the dirty brown sugar boba and I thought it was really good. The boba is on the chewier side but not too chewy like other places. The drink itself was pretty sweet. I went when it was busy and there were about 5 people in front of me. I think one of them had a large group so it took a while to get to the front but once I ordered it was super quick. There are also games there so it is a good hang out spot with friends!

Came here on a Friday evening with a friend after having dinner nearby because all of the other dessert places nearby were already closed, and he craving something sweet! The establishment was fairly popular, and there was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. The menu is quite extensive, and I had a difficult time ordering because it all sounded yummy! They were out of an ingredient for the drink I wanted, so I settled on the second choice which was an earl grey tea with tapioca, pudding, and herbal jelly. Asked for 50% sweetness, which I felt was the perfect amount. My friend enjoyed his drink as well and really enjoyed the texture and size of the tapioca. Luckily we were able to snag the last open table as it became available. Worth a return trip for a refreshing beverage.

Gong cha makes one of the best taro milk teas I have ever had. I like to order it 50% less sugar and 50% less ice. The boba is not too soft and not too firm. It's perfect. They work pretty fast and it is spacious inside. Parking can be a headache though, especially on the weekends so beware. Otherwise I highly recommend.

Family go to. I always grab the Qq passion fruit tea and wife grabs the matcha latte. We go to most locations. This one has a odd odor though but drinks taste fine.

The place was neat and look alike with every Gong Cha that we visited in and outside of United States. Service was okay there was no extra ordinary. We ordered Early Grey Tea with Milk Foam and the Brown Sugar which is really good. I appreciate the taste as it is not milky and you can really savor the tea taste. It was a good experience and visit. Thank you!

It was plenty and had some to go. Galbi was decent... it's not like Korean Galbi. It was pretty saucy, sweet and tender. It was decent portion as well. Think we found our new late night spot! The lounge like ambiance, along with their diner-like menu, is a major selling point for folks and has been one of the reasons for their popularity over the better part of the last two decades. It is a bit trendy and plays music that you would think of and in a Miami lounge or a pretentious New York Club. While service is not their strong suit, the clean bathrooms, spacious seating, and semi-open kitchen makes up for some 'tudes from the staff. The menu is most definitely Asian, but blends from a predominantly Chinese menu and featuring various Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese items. The latter includes sushi, which is likely one of the only spots in the neighborhood that still has it after midnight. They have bluefin tuna and sea urchin, in which Cafe 101 is one of the only late night spots to offer it. Their beef chow fun is nice and greasy, but filled with excessive onions, bean sprouts, and various other veggies that almost take away from the noodles and beef (which was nicely cooked). Their shrimp and egg came in a nice set, which was a good surprise and surprisingly well executed. This is also a spot for Japanese curry, and even though it's not the best, it most certainly does the job. Taiwanese popcorn chicken is on point, cumin lamb is unsurprisingly spicy, and Singapore chow mai fun has a tinge of solid wok hei. (#1) I'm genuinely not a fan of their soups and think the sushi rolls are not their best work. While they also have milk, tea options, unless one is desperate, I would also steer clear of. Parking in the early evening can be an issue at Don Huang Plaza, but after 11pm, the parking options should be abundant. I would consider coming here in a larger group, especially with late night owls. ___________ (#1) Wok's essence (鑊氣)

You can order at the kiosk or at the cashier. For sweetness customization, they only have full level, less sweet, and no sugar options. The less sweet is already plenty sweet for me, so wish there was a slightly less sweet option than that. The service was polite and friendly, and the inside was clean with several tables.
