I was making my way back home from the Sugar Land/Hwy 6 area and was thinking of giving new places a try. One that I heard of from recommendation is Fresh Boba. I believe the business also had recognition from the Houston Chronicle as top 15 boba shops. I stopped in during a more relaxed time where the business was more relaxed and midday weekend. I was a bit unsure of what to get but asked the staff what would be a good recommendation on the menu. I did go with their special Salted Vietnamese coffee and mango green tea with boba. The boba is chewy and something I noticed after taking a sip. I found it important the boba is cooked properly so it is not too soft and too hard. The tea was refreshing too and you have your option of either black or green tea. The special salted Vietnamese coffee was a surprise for me because I would typically pick the traditional way from other businesses that offer it. Still strong in flavor but a different taste for me. Overall I think it's a good visit. Fresh boba is in a familiar spot where I buy my alternate coffee shop opposed from the well known brand. The shop is nice and does have various seatings by the wall and even couches. Nothing wrong for critique but if you do pick the salted Vietnamese coffee I suggest you mix it well because of the salty and bitter profile cream on top in combination with the prominent coffee base. It is good but maybe not for everyone if you are used to the traditional simplicity of coffee and condensed milk. A nice option away from the concentrated Chinatown offerings. read more

We stopped by this place on a whim and ordered seven drinks for the family: four lychee green teas, one regular milk tea, one passion fruit slushy, and one watermelon slushy. Overall, everyone enjoyed their drinks. The lychee green tea I had was fairly standard, but I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet. The boba was decent as well. This was my first visit to this cute little shop tucked away in a strip center. It was within walking distance of Thai Siam where I just had lunch. As you enter booths and tables are on each side with the order counter toward the back. The menu is up on the wall with a nice variety. When I mentioned it was my first time the cashier didn't say anything or make any recommendations until I asked what some of her favorites were. She was more into smoothies but did make a couple suggestions. She wasn't particularly chatty but I assumed she had other things on her mind. The menu has an excellent variety with smoothies, cream teas, icy blends, green and black teas or coffee Espressos with a nice selection of flavors. I ordered the Fresh Boba Cream Tea Frosty with Caramel. I'd never had this before so I was excited to try. It only took a few minutes for the young lady to prepare plus I was the only customer. I grabbed a booth to sample my Boba before getting back on the road. I loved the fresh, firm boba and the caramel flavor was nice. I appreciated the cup had enough ice to chill without overfilling the cup with ice. I'd order again and it stayed chilled quite awhile. It's a comfortable spot to hang out and enjoy a beverage. When I'm in Sugarland and craving boba milk tea, this is my go-to spot. Their drinks are consistent and delicious. I always get the regular boba milk tea with tapioca, 25 percent sugar, and less ice. The final result is always spot on. Not too sweet and well balanced. The tapioca balls (boba) has a good texture and is sweetened. They make their milk tea as you order and is not pre-made in a large jug like some places do. I recommend ordering 25 percent sugar level because I find the normal amount is too sweet because the tapioca balls are already sweetened, but to each their own. This place seems to be a hit with kids after school. I wish that I had a tapioca shop next to my school when I grew up. Never have I reviewed a boba spot before but I definitely felt inclined to give this spot a go. First off, did not mean to stop in.... I like this location much more than the Dulles Avenue one. I have been going to the Dulles Avenue location since the day it opened. It's literally 2 mins away from where I live. I was debating if I wanted to go get a Boba drink today, so I decided to get one that I usually get every time I go. When a payment is made by card, it asks for a tip. The drink is already pricey and I don't feel I need to pay extra for that kind of service. Every single time, the employee will stand there and watch to see what I put. This is extremely rude. Rotten fruits in my drink. Complete opposite of fresh. I had to argue to get it replaced which made it even worse. Horrible customer service! I happen to love this place due to how close it was to home but my recent trip there will be my last. I ordered a strawberry smoothie and it tasted so rotten. What is a boba/tapioca place that does not put boba by default in a drink. It may not completely be their fault but I find them complicit. I am unable to drive and had to order from door dash. Unfortunately all the drinks on the menu except two did not have Boba listed in the name of the drink. To make it worse there was no option to add boba using the Door Dash app. First off I would have thought that when you buy a plane ticket you get a seat. Imagine having to add a seat to your plane ticket, but wait that option is missing. I guess you are just going to stand on the flight or sit on the lavatory's seat. If you are going to be published on an app like DoorDash and let your business go downhill because of the app you might want to reconsider using them. Why name a place Fresh Boba and serve Bobaless drinks by default. I understand some people don't like tapioca but come on! Get your business model right. The drink overall was fine so two stars off for using an unreliable third party delivery service. read more

The folks behind the counter kept saying, "It's the same thing." IT IS NOT!! This is a cheap substitute and a fraudulent claim. Weird location for a tapioca shop, but I'm actually glad to have more variety in Sugar Land. This brand new place is right besides Krogers on Hwy 6 and Voss Rd, a bit hard to spot, and not a lot of people come by this area for anything other than grocery shopping. When I heard of their grand opening, I decided to drop by this place, while running an errand, to check out how their milk tea was. The interior was nicely designed, gave off a comfortable feeling. Fresh Boba calls their milk teas "Cream Teas", and I could see why. I ordered a Cream Green Tea w/ egg pudding, and immediately I could taste the creaminess that most milk teas don't have. The large drink cost around $3.50, which is a lot cheaper than Kung Fu Tea, but not quite as good (probably because they don't overdose their drinks with sugar lol.. which is a good thing). Though it definitely tastes better than the other tapioca joints in Sugar Land such as Dulce, Teahouse, and Tea Bar. Four stars because their milk tea was just slightly above average but didn't really blow me away. Will have to revisit a couple more times before designating this place as my main source of tapioca in Sugar Land. read more

My company always orders the drinks from them. I personally love their Green Cream Tea. Of course you cannot compare them with other famous boba franchises like Shared Tea, Gongcha, or Kung Fu. Their pricing is at least $1+ cheaper than those brands. I always got my Green Cream Tea with boba for $3.50 (plus tax). It'll be $4.75 (plus tax) in Kung Fu. If you don't compare Fresh Boba with those well known franchises mentioned above, I personally think their drinks taste great. The sweetness & creaminess are just on points. The boba is in a perfect texture as well as long as they don't reuse the boba leftover from the previous days (I can tell very easily). Their service is great as well. The staff is very friendly. My friend Janica M. brought me here a while back and I must say it was a game changer. I actually really enjoy their cream tea and milk cream tea (basically their versions of milk tea and green milk tea). I recently also found out that you can adjust the sweetness level here which helps a lot as their cream tea is a little bit too sweet for me so I like to get it at 70%. Service is always pleasant and I enjoy that they use stamp cards! The tapioca's consistency is generally made just right but there have been times that it is a little over cooked for my liking. The Thai tea is underwhelming here so I would advise to not order it for your first drink. I have yet to try another drink nor their snacks but I would be willing to in the near future! This place really surprised me that it was actually pleasant and not near Chinatown. After coming here, I actually realized there was more than once location and it made me a little more open to trying other tapioca places. read more

Was good! - iced cappuccino: this is like crack to me. I don't know what they use but it has me wired after 2-3 sips. Two shots of espresso from Starbucks doesn't even do that to me.
