I've never been a fan of Kung fu tea because the location in Chinatown sucks. Such bad service, horrible drinks & it's just overrated. I was also turn off because a lot of their drinks are powdered & artificial. After a big bowl of ramen my friend and I decided to walk next door to this location for some tea. I went ahead & ordered their Strawberry lemon green tea & ginger milk. Wow, surprisingly my strawberry lemon tea was very good. I enjoyed the sharp tartness to it & I can taste the actual green tea. My ginger milk was so gingerly & very powerful. They couldn't adjust the sweetness level which was an issue because it was extremely too sweet for me but it wasn't a bad drink though. I have been on the hunt for the best taro milk tea in the Missouri City/Sugar Land area so I decided to cross King Fu Tea off my list. I had my craving late at night and surprisingly they were open which was great! No one was in the store and they were cleaning up for the most part but they still stopped to take my order. Now for the tea, taro tea taste different every where I go. I prefer taro that has more of a coconut forward taste but I know sometimes it taste more like chocolate. Kung Fu Tea's has more of the chocolate notes so it tasted a bit like cookies and cream and coffee. I wasn't put off by it because I know that's how taro taste at certain places. However, as stated it's not my preference. I would go back but I probably wouldn't get the taro. I also know places that have larger mediums so that was also a minor downside. I'd still totally recommend this place though and just tell people to order the large if they're really thirsty. read more

This was my first time at Kung Fu Tea, and I'm a huge cookies and cream guy, so I got the Oreo Slush. I've had a similar drink from Nordstrom cafe , but the consistency of this one was more rich and thick so k was able to enjoy it longer. The Oreo taste was great. The only thing that was disappointing is that they don't have almond milk, which I would've subbed for regular milk. I also tried my girlfriend's boba style tea which was delicious. read more

I had Kung Fu Milk Tea before but at I-10 and Blalock location. I didn't recall my experience at that time. This time, I was in the vicinity of this location so why not? This time, I got a large Kung Fu Milk Tea with white boba. The tapioca balls were great -- right size and soft. The aroma of the tea was a bit strong for my liking which my wife agreed. For my wife, she said it was too overwhelming. As far as the service, it was great. The guy who took our order was great with advice and explanation. My review deserves an update - 1 year later. This location is pretty great, esp compared to the one off of Hwy 6. They open at 11 am, which is earlier than the usual 12 pm of many tea houses. Their menu is pretty large and they have new / seasonal additions as well. - sesame oolong milk tea - We're huge fans! I've gotten it with non-dairy creamer (their standard) and with oat milk, and it definitely tastes much better with their creamer. The same could probably be said of all their drinks though heh. This one is delicious with red bean. - almond milk tea - T said their's was the best he's ever had. I love their toppings selection. They have many more toppings options than most places and some unique ones as well. I do think aiyu jelly would be a nice addition, but they have plenty to chose from. Their Oolong tea jelly is good but it's hard to drink it with your drink. It's a boba tea chain and the folks in this location were super friendly and nice (especially when open on Christmas Day). Note that the milk teas are made with milk powder and not the real thing. Also like that there's a level of customizability for your drink (I.e. you can adjust ice levels and sweetness). I happen to like the winter melon tea - which I'd advise getting at half sweet unless you've got a massive sweet tooth. I'd you don't like boba you can go for jelly or pudding. read more

So happy for a king fu tea in Sugar Land! With all the different tapioca spots that have opened up here, Kung Fu is hands down my fav. Their boba has a good flavor and texture, and I dig the drink flavors they have here. Recently I tried the Purple Yam Latte and added tapioca and as I write this I think I will go there now and get another one. I asked for a thai milk tea and it was straight up a regular milk tea not a thai milk tea. I asked them if the color was supposed to be a light brown because it's usually an orange and they said they just removed the artificial coloring so I was like oh okay. I also asked for a brown sugar milk tea and they gave me some drink called cocoa cream. Love Kung Fu Tea and glad they've opened this location. They've got a variety of seating and it's very clean. It's a great place to study or meet with friends although it's a bit loud because of the way the space is designed. Their tea is great and tapioca is cooked well. The only turn off was that the hours state that they're open till 10 but the crew began cleaning the front (including mopping, turning off lights, and putting chairs up) at 9:30. A few customers came in during this time and ordered to-go. We didn't feel welcome or comfortable to stay at that time. Sounds a bit silly but when you walk at about 9 to hang out for an hour, you expect that you'd feel comfortable being there for that hour instead of the subtle hints to leave. Sorry night owls!
