First time going during quarantine and it was surprisingly good! I ordered One sugar London fog and one cream brûlée, I also added pearls (boba) to both. Both drinks came out quick and tasted great! The place was clean and the young gentleman helping me was very knowledgeable. *Four stars instead of 5 was due to pearls losing texture, a little on the chewy side. But I'd still get the pearls again. Will be a solid 5 when food is up and running again* read more

It took me 10 minutes to get a refund. Went here and used the self-order kiosk. Then a worker called me over to let me know that they were out of boba, but I really didn't want to wait 30 minutes for it to cook, so I asked for a refund. The worker then went to get the manager who refunded me JUST $10. I was a little confused because I had paid around $13. It took awhile longer, but then the worker just opened his drawer to give me the rest. Dear Gong Cha, when we pay $x for a drink but for some reason need a refund right away, you do not have the right to refund $x minus ANYTHING. My family love the drinks here. The boba has a nice chew to it. The tea they use is good. We love the premium black milk tea, the brown sugar milk tea and the lemon juice with white pearl and aiyu (really refreshing)! The milk foam milk coffee is my dad's favorite. The temperature isn't as hot as he would like it so we need to ask for extra hot each time. The staff is hit or miss. The younger staff have a flat affect, don't greet customers and can be perceived as rude. When I'm ordering multiple drinks, I get asked "is that it?" after each drink. To stop her, I have to preface it with, I have 3 drink orders today. Perhaps it's a youth cultural thing. ‍ There's is a woman who works there (or maybe the owner) who is consistently friendly - she makes my visit to get tea pleasant. Parking can be challenging since it's just street parking. During the week I can get a spot on the same block. On the weekends you're going to have to park further. But it's worth it. Gong cha is sorta like the super reliable friend who you always know is somewhere around the corner, and has a good menu of drinks you can always fall back on. Gong cha also has their own specials every season (London Fog series, specific fruit types, etc) and they're pretty good too. This review is for their service. There were two girls making drinks but still took 30 minutes to get my 2 drinks. The worst part was my drink was already made but they like to make X amount of drinks before they start calling numbers. They don't have a limit to how many people can be inside at once so it felt a bit crowded inside. One of my favorite boba shops in alameda, coming from a cheap student that loves to get their boba fix a few times a week. They have buy one get one free from 6-8 everyday (2 drink limit) and their drinks aren't the worst. The longest time i've waited was about 30 minutes but that was on halloween when it was PACKED. From what I notice, the busiest times are usually around 6. Even then, the wait is maybe 15 minutes for drinks. My go to is the milk foam green tea with boba. Their milk foam is always consistent and such a great texture, which is why I love it :). Their boba isn't as sweet as it used to be but it's still good enough for me. The staff are always nice and friendly too. Definitely hard to find parking around their BOGO time though. read more

I prefer this place over iTea, which I gave three chances, but I constantly had run-ins with rude customer service. I stopped going there and very much enjoy Gong Cha instead. They make the drinks quickly, and the people who take your orders are helpful with recommendations if you're not familiar with their drink options. Only ordered tea from this place once. Regular milk tea at 50% sugar was still plenty sweet. Don't even know what 100% sugar would be, but imagine it to be very sweet. Also ordered the lychee oolong tea and it didn't taste like lychee or oolong. Sue Pringle bad tea flavor that actually warranted a negative review. Should've noticed the 3.5 stars on yelp before I went in to order. Their drinks are very affordable and delicious. Not sure if they'll increase over time. We liked our green milk tea and the boba was good too. Don't go when the manager is there. They will cheap out on products to save an extra penny. If your drink comes with a scoop of ice cream, you'll get a child size scoop that even a hungry person would laugh at. Since it is on Santa clara and park street, parking can be a struggle depending on what time and days of the week you go. Since its a newly opened franchise the person taking order was struggling a bit. I've ordered the Mango Green tea with light iced and lightly sweeten. The drink still turned out extremely sweet. Sugar overload with minimal amount of tea. And they do take kind of long to make the drink too.., Maybe I will give them another try in the future, but as of right now I'll stick to I-tea. read more

This place is disgusting. I saw someone take out the trash with their hands and then not even wash them. Bare hands! No one is wearing gloves! Is that even legal? It is very expensive, especially compared to T4, less than a block away. The drinks are not very good, at least not compared to T4. The employees were rude and unhelpful, especially with their menu. I had a milk foam wintermelon and it tasted fake and overly sweet, and they said the sweetness was non negotiable. The milk foam had something grainy in it, and after seeing flies of all shapes and sizes floating around their cooking area I couldn't drink it any more and had to throw it out. For the price, I felt very ripped off and I felt like someone had dipped their hand in my drink. read more

Half of this place is Gong Cha, half is a Banh mi place. I'm keeping this short and sweet, no real need to describe a boba spot, you know the deal! My fave bobas: Earl Grey boba is one of the best I've had Strawberry marble boba is unique and fun For your popcorn chicken, calamari, egg waffles and other snacks, the banh mi place (called Baguette) carries all of your needs. Also a decent banh mi there. This place doesn't have as long of a line as T4 near by but there is no happy hour. read more

The dude was really passive aggressive. Another customer came in different cashier , customer complimented her hair. Completely ignored her despite saying it twice and louder the second time.
