Just completed my very first fitting and purchased the Mixuno JOC 919 hot metal iron set after swearing to myself I would leave with my life long titliest irons.When I was fitted I tried 5 different forged irons and this was the only non forged club I tried my awesome PGA grade fitter Eric Swanson was AWESOME!!. I previously used the titleist ap2's and loves the forged feel. When I hit the hot metal it felt ok at first. I was instantly sold on the Mizunos after being educated by Eric as far as what works best for my swing style and swing speed. I was super nervous about being fit as this is a large investment but the help and non pressured approach Eric Provides me with not only got me the clubs of my dreams but saved me a ton of money by being educated. I got fitted for my golf clubs on January 18. They told me the clubs would take 4 weeks to arrive. It turned out it took 8 weeks due delays at Mizuno. When I got my clubs I received the wrong clubs. It turned out the fitter ordered the wrong clubs. On the fitting he wrongs down Mizuno Hotmetal Pro, but ordered the standard Hotmetal irons. I went back to have them return the clubs and have them expedited. They said the clubs would be expedited so I wouldn't have to wait 2 months again. I get a call today that they called the Mizuno rep to make sure my clubs are on the express list. I was told the clubs are on the list but since Mizuno didn't screw up my clubs might be put back on the standard order list and I might have to wait 8 more weeks. This was supposed to have been my birthday gift. Now it looks like it might not be until May until I get my clubs. This is ridiculous. read more

Probably the worst experience I had with a golf store. I went there for an upcoming tournament and needed golf balls. The website had a good deal so I went to the nearest store to get the item(s) I needed. I knew of the Upland store to be the nearest from where I am. When I entered I notice there were hardly anyone there; "hint, hint maybe". One of the items I needed didn't come in a proper packaging. I asked for a the packaging and maybe, just a maybe, a discount. When one of the sales associate asked for help, not only did he NOT want to come to the front he was rude about it to the associate. When I asked for him to come to front he was hesitant and he demeanor was rude stating "That's how the corporate ...". He delivery was NOT kind and respectful. He was at the Brea store before and had the same reputation. I am surprised that he is the Manager at Upland. Upland store would suffer with his leadership. I play A LOT of golf and am around people who loves to play CONSTANTLY. I WOULDN'T recommend this store to anyone I know under its current management. I would like to suggest that he goes to a training for proper customer service and have a Lead Manager to train him. read more

I scheduled an appointment to get fitted for new ping i500s on 09/09/18. I arrived 15 minutes early for my 11am appointment and was helped by Jacob Vencill. When we checked with the scheduler, they didn't know who my fitter would be. Jacob said he would do it. I was fine with this because Jacob had a very positive attitude. I had a certain level of trust because I saw him putt three balls within 6" of the hole from 30' out...seriously, this guy is good! So we start the fitting. Jacob set me up on the launch monitor, and let me swing away. He didn't try to improve upon my swing or coach me. He kept the fitting a fitting and not a swing lesson. He asked me how different setups felt, he checked my lie angles, he took measurements of my height, he even walked me through what all the different numbers meant. Jacob provided an amazing 5 star experience. I'll update this review once my clubs get in but let me tell you...I am very confident in what I purchased that day. If you decide to get fitted at Golf Galaxy in Upland and they set you up with Jacob, KNOW that you are in good hands and tell him I said hi. *Golf Galaxy, your rating was 4 star due to scheduling issues. I was in there for about 45 minutes checking out the products on a Sunday morning. Their were very few customers inside and I was ready to spend about $1000 in clubs, shoes and a bag. At no time did anyone approach and offer help. One employee followed me around and appeared to be more interested in loss prevention than offering me help. I will not be going back there! read more

Terrible customer service. Went there trying to find a 3 wood sim and they would not allow me to use the simulator. Is that how your company treats a customer? Their excuse was "the machine cost $15, 000." Why do you have the machine if the customer can't use it? If that's how you're going to treat your customers, you lost me and I will let everyone know. I shared my experience with my group of 8 golfers; not one person disagreed with me. They all shared their terrible experiences here. I would suggest retraining your employees, because what is the point of working if you have zero customer service? You might as well be an online only store. I walked out and went to Roger Dunn and customer service was tremendous! They treated me as a person and provided great service. read more

So the new members that work there are obviously not people friendly. When Ashley was there NEVER had an issue, since her departure, I have had nothing but issues EVERYTIME I go in there. Called the day of to ask if they could put ten grips on my clubs in a matter of 5 days. Person answering the phone told me no problem I'll get them to you in two days. I drive 45 minutes to get her just to show up and the pro shop manager tell me there is no way it can be done. I then ask why his employee told me it could be done and he said they are just a bunch of twenty year olds they don't know what there doing. Just terrible experience. I wanted to hit two drivers; I knew what I wanted. I explained that to the store associate who greeted me .He tried to convince me into using their $100 fitting service, which would apply to the purchase of a new driver. I told I had a fitting with the manufacturers and I simply wanted to compare the two drivers side by side. He told me I could hit any of the "demo clubs" in the hitting bays. ONE BIG PROBLEM, there were NO DEMO DRIVERS. When I asked if they would assemble a driver from the mix of heads and shafts (which Rogers Dunn's in Santa Ana does with pleasure) I was told no, they only do that for paid fittings, that it was "store policy". I will never go back to Golf Galaxy Upland or use any Golf Galaxy again. Save yourself the time and poor customer service and go somewhere where their still value your business, especially when you may be spending $600 for a new driver and $3000 or more for a new compete set. read more

For those who don't know this used to be a golfsmith and is now a golf galaxy. I was in here the other day and there was nobody inside. I was told because it didn't have its grand opening yet plus it still has the goldsmith logo outside. I assume people still think it is closed. Inside it looks just like the golfsmith it used to be with some subtle changes. In my opinion it looked less cluttered than before which is nice. I went in to look around and the staff was very friendly and asked if they could help me with anything. I asked about trading some clubs in and told them I was interested in purchasing a new set. The store manager, Eric, was awesome. He told me how much I could get for my clubs and asked about my game and what I wanted to get better at. After about 15 mins of talking golf I went on my way. The next day I brought in my clubs and traded them in. Eric gave me a personal fitting that was excellent. I've been fit for clubs before but this was much more insightful and he gave me tips on my swing that helped me understand so much more. I can say I walked away with a bit of a free education and a better swing... not to mention some new clubs!!! All in all this was a great experience and I'm glad it is reopened as a golf galaxy. I was hoping that I would want to come back here but didn't take long for them to disappoint me. I took in clubs on saturday early afternoon and was told they would be re-gripped and done by 4pm on Sunday. I came in at that time and the very rude gentlemen at that area was helping someone so someone else asked me what I needed and when I said what I needed - the very rude gentlemen simply said "There not ready" in a very unprofessional attitude. I know he looks like the same guy when they were goldsmith and had the same problem then. Will have to now try Roger Dunn. Just bought a set of titelist Cb 718s as well as a Scotty Cameron putter for me and my dad and couldn't be happier with the service. I came in late from work and had a limited amount of time to make an expensive purchase. Jacob did not push me into making a decision and even stayed a little later than closing time to make sure I felt comfortable with what I was getting. He also has a lot of great input and you can tell he actually knows what he is talking about. If you are looking for a new set of clubs or want to get fitted, ask for Jacob! Been going on here for years and have always been able to hit clubs on the sim to test them prior to purchase. Just last week I shot a few different irons on the sim prior to purchase and was very happy. Yesterday I went in for a new driver and was allowed in the bay but the sim wasn't started so I clicked practice to start, shot a few balls and decided to try a different driver when the associate rudely told me I can't use the sim only the mat to get a feel and to use the sim is $30/hour. I've been going since it was golf smith and never been told that. So I went to get my other driver back from the pro shop that was having work done on it and decided to take my business to roger Dunn where frank personally helped fit me with a brand new driver after hitting multiple on the sim. I will never do business with golf galaxy again. Also after buying a callaway driver with a 90 day money back guarantee they refused to give me cash back as that was my form of original payment and would only give me a gift card. read more

I was interested in a new set of Taylor Made clubbs today Jan 3, 2020 at 5pm Upland CA the Colonies Walked around looked at prices for 20 mins. No sales person around to answer questions so I went over to the cashier. I learned fro her that Galaxy is owned by Dick's Sporting. I mentioned I was friends with the previous owner of Chick's Sporting goods (now Dicks) trying to strike up a conversation and get some help. But during our conversation, she got a text message on her cell and completely ignored our conversation. I said you must have a very important text message right now so I'll go check for golf shoes. I proceeded to check for Nike golf shoes for about 20 minutes because there was no one in sales around. I needed a size 13 in Nike but none on the shelf. I heard lots of laughing at the register so I walked over there. I saw the same girl and two guys with mics on there clothing hanging around the register. One sales guy caught my eye and asked if I needed help. I complained about my wait time for clubs and shoes and he responded he was here now to help and was busy with another customer. I asked about the other sales person and there was no response. Turns out they don't have my shoe size, 13 a common shoe size. I walked toward the exit and said good night. This store is not going to survive based on customer service period. I was ready to spend about $2000 for new Taylor made clubs plus $150 for shoes. They make it so hard to walk up to the virtual range and try out clubs. It is only for "club fittings". Basically you have to know what you want to buy and try while an employee watches you. I miss the days when I could at my own pace view and ponder over what clubs I want. Golf Smith is better than Golf Galaxy. read more

Horrible customer service. I was looking to purchase a new set of golf clubs and found them at the Dick's spring goods stores in Cerritos. The did not have a right handed set for me there, but they located a set at their Golf Galaxy store in Upland. Being it was the set I wanted at the price I wanted, I asked that they be put in hold and I would make the 40 mile drive to pick them up. When I arrived the store was not busy. One customer in line and three guys behind the counter not doing anything. After standing there for a while the Manger (Cody) decided to finally acknowledge me and said I'll get someone to help. Not sure why he couldn't help me, but he assigned one of his associates to me. I told Kameron that a set of clubs wad on hold for me. He knew exactly which ones they were as he fielded the call from Cerritos. He went to the wall and took therm from the display. I paid, but before I left I noticed the 7 iron was missing. Kameron said he thought he knew where it was and left to the back of the store to look. Cody joined him as they searched the store. 25 mins later Kameron then tells me that he told Cerritos that it was a short set. I walked over to the display and even took a picture of the sign and no where did it state it was a short set. If they knew it was a short set from the beginning, why spend the 25 mins looking for it ??? Cody then comes back and blames Cerritos saying he didn't know why they didn't tell me it was a short set. He then says he would refund my money and sell me another set. I didn't appreciate the up-sell approach as he couldn't offer me the same quality clubs and the price point I paid. I took the set as is and figured I could find the 7 iron one my own (which I have). I asked Cody for the Corporate number so I could file a compliant. He habe me the Dick's customer service number instead of corporate . I called I logged my complaint. Customer service assured me the District Manger would call me within 72 hours. After waiting a week with no call, I called back and found they never lived my concern in the system. I spoke with a supervisor this time and she did provide me a reference number and also said I would receive a call within 72 hours. Still no call .... I highly recommend that you do not do business with this store! read more

I was very pleased with the knowledge and attentiveness of the staff at this location. It is a nicely organized store, with both new and used clubs. They have a good selection of used clubs of all price ranges, and they welcome you to try them out in their "driving studios". I was looking for a driver under $100 and ended up with a Taylor Made RBZ Stage 2 adjustable loft driver for $100, like new condition. They regrip for free, you buy the grip, labor is free, $2.99 value. Even on used clubs, they do the custom computerized fitting, you'll hit balls, they'll view club head speed, launch angle, feet off of centerline, carry of ball, roll of ball, total distance, then tell you to make tweaks, and review once more. In my case, they pivoted the club head on the shaft to open up the face and reduce the loft, my preferred best setup is a 14 degree launch angle, which produced a 206 yard drive, with 170 yards carry and 36 yards roll. read more

So i decided to stop by and check this place out. Was looking to inquire about the golf tech lessons and golf clubs fitting. So i walk in the store and no employees acknowledge me or say hi can i help you. I walk over to the golf tech area and stand there for about 10 min. Still nothing. I finally walk over to the cash register area and ask the female cashier standing there if she can get someone from the golf tech area to come out. She gets on her little mic and talks to some one. While doing so she refers to me like an animal or like im some sort of thing. Horrible experience! Horrible customer service for a place that has all there crap Over Priced any ways! So she tells me her manager said over the mic that the golf tech employees will not come out until they are done with there lesson. I Asked her how long would that be and she looked at me like a deer looking into headlights. Feel bad for that female. She unhappy she had to settle in life and work as a cashier at a golf store. Thats not my fault by the way. Lol! So if you are looking into golf tech i suggest you call first. Or most likely you will be waisting your time just like me! Hope this helps... read more
